Description of Work: My fiancee and I both lived with our families and had been looking for our first home for 7 months. We found Cathy through Angie's List. We actually had a few bad experiences with lenders and Realtors before we met her, so our trust level was pretty low. But Cathy was very professional and communicative from the start. When we first met with her she clearly explained the home-buying process and she got a feel for our needs and wants through a series of questions. I really thought 90% of what we listed was beyond reach because of the strict budget we had set, but Cathy came up with great lists of homes that we could discuss online prior to arranging actual visits which really helped us to make the best use of our time. Since we are planning a wedding, both have fulltime jobs, and are both actively involved in our church, there are many other things we have going on besides the home search, so Cathy helped make this an easy process that fit our busy schedules. We never felt rushed or pressured at any point. What really helped build our trust was Cathy's honesty and consistent communication. She was very responsive and helpful in guiding us through this process. We ended up working with a home builder in MD, and what seemed out of reach became more than affordable as Cathy helped us negotiate a down payment that was below our strict budget and a monthly mortgage that was very within our budget (I'm big on spreadsheets!). During the negotiations, we knew we had someone fighting for our best interest and we're incredibly happy for the outcome!
