Bray and Scarff

There's a bottom draw that won't open and close. They kept telling me they'll get back to me but they never did until we demanded a refund but no apology. They were horrible.

I hired Bray and Scarff to check my dryer that was not heating because that is where I purchased it. When he arrived at 6:30 PM (supposed to be here between 2 and 5), he told me I needed a new heating element but couldn’t tell me how much it would cost to replace it or give me any advice as whether to repair or replace it. He didn’t know if they would have to order it or if this part was even available but that someone would call me. When they didn’t call I called and was told that the repairman hadn’t turned in the paper work but would call within the next couple of days. I asked the same questions about cost, time etc and was told they didn’t know. I called an Angie’s list A rated place and a repair man would come to my house within 2 days with the part and quoted a price of $250 total for part and installation.

I went for my kitchen installation, and appliances. They designed my kitchen, did my cabinets, and installed the counter-tops. I love the kitchen. I am very satisfied with it. They made a mistake on my counter top, but they fixed it, things happen. They assumed all responsibility, and took care of it. They were amazing with clean up. Every single day they left the place immaculate. When its inside your house, you appreciate it a lot.

They sent a technician who came, looked at the hood for about 2 minutes and told me I needed to clean it. I had already cleaned it and told him I needed a little more information than that. There is no way a hood would continue leaking oil after being cleaned and he told me I didn't clean it well enough. I had another contractor who was in my house, totally unfamiliar with Wolf hoods take a look and he quickly realized that there was oil build up in the duct work. Bray and Scarf charged me $140 for their "service" and then was pretty tough to talk to on the phone afterwards. Despite our appliances coming from them, we'll never work with them again. I found another company who was much more helpful and I'll be working with them from now on.

The initial delivery was terrible. They provided a window of 3 to 7 pm on a Saturday. We returned to the house at noon and the refrigerator was already delivered. They delivered the wrong style and color - a standard refrigerator with freezer on top that was stainless steel. I ordered a white refrigerator with the freezer at the bottom and two doors on the top. I'd asked them to deliver it to my basement - 5 steps down. There are 5 steps up into the house and 5 steps down in to the basement outside. They wanted $20 extra to do that. I asked if they would deliver it to the main floor and the answer was yes and wouldn't charge the $20. They realized they mis-delivered and came to pick up the stainless steel refrigerator and deliver the correct one. I again asked that they deliver it to the basement, and they refused. I will never purchase any appliances from them ever again. The price was very expensive for the size refrigerator I purchased, but did have trouble finding that size anywhere.

we've used Bray and Scarff for quite a few appliance purchases over the last 10 years or so - dishwasher, refrigerator, and just recently, washing machine. we spoke with Pablo when we visited the Arlington store. He was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable and is GREAT at customer service. He listened to our needs and suggested a well-rated dishwasher (I checked ratings online while we were in the store), and then calculated a price (and I checked online - the price was considerably less than I could find anywhere else). also, bray and scarff doesn't load up the price with costly add-ons (for delivery, set-up, removal of an old appliance, etc.). Not a big deal, because I compare the final price online, but i always view excessive add-ons an insult to the consumer. If only car dealers would adopt the Bray and Scarff approach! he clearly explained the invoice he presented to us, explained how to apply for the rebate they offered, scheduled delivery/installation, and said we could contact him with any questions we had. we were very impressed. we opted for the extended warranty (we tend to be heavy washing machine users), and Bray and Scarff offers a nice added feature - if you don't use the extended warranty at all, you get the the full price of the warranty as a credit towards another purchase.

It has been a nightmare. It is the end of November and it is still not working. We have had the computer board replaced, two pumps were ordered but not installed, a drain hose came in as the wrong part, and I am still waiting for the right solution to our problem. We have to prime the bottom of the dishwasher with gallons of water before it will work. And that was my workaround. But the worst part is not that several technicians cannot figure out a solution, but that the service department's customer service is awful and frustrating. Parts come in and they don't call us to schedule. When you call them, they have lengthy waiting times for repair visits. Sometimes as long as two weeks. Technicians have their own cell phones so caller ID does not ID them as B&S technicians. One day i waited all day and they did not come. The machine is no longer under warranty except for the computer board which they charged me for the labor. It may be that this is a lemon but it should not be so frustrating dealing with a repair company.

They are extremely professional. They did the whole thing and are excellent. We dealt with a designer there named Jenifer Catania. The whole office were professional. They really do a great job. They are fairly priced. It was a pretty big job.
