+ -1 moreHugo came out to look at the job. He had to reschedule and called promptly to let us know he had a conflict. Received his E -mail the estimate the next day, we accepted, and the job was scheduled. Karl came out to install the molding. He was on time, neat (removed his shoes every time he came in the house - not necessary but appreciated), showed me how to install the crown (I'd tried and failed miserably), and neatly caulked the molding. The completed project looks fantastic and I would absolutely use Shirley's for future work.
Description of Work: Installed owner's crown molding in hall bathroom and caulked top and bottom of molding.

+ 6 moreIt was an unusual project, and I appreciate his willingness to work with me. I had salvaged the 13-foot-plus built-ins from an office building. I then had the base cabinet stripped and repainted in a refinishing shop. They also built and finished new and quot;boxesand quot; to hold shelves in upper open units, as the originals were unusable after the breakdown to move them. Hugo installed and trimmed out the whole unit, installed lighting and finished with room with crown moulding. He was very professional, arriving promptly and seeking details when necessary. I am very happy with his work.
Description of Work: Hugo installed wood built-in cabinets, crown moulding and recessed lights in my living room.

+ -1 moreExcellent, Hugo and his partner did a great job. Hugo provided an estimate and at first I thought it was a bit high but we agreed. However, the job took nearly the entire day, the wood was cut, replaced and finished beautifully, so in hindsight it was a good price. We are very, very happy and will refer and use Hugo again.

+ -1 moreWe could not be happier with Hugo's work. It is always excellent. His prices are very, very reasonable. We've found Hugo to be reliable and trustworthy. He is very honest and dependable. He is sometimes a little slow in responding to emails and messages. It typically takes him 2-3 days to respond, but he is well worth waiting for. I'm so glad we found him and we will be using him again in the future.
Description of Work: We've been using Shirley's Handyman since this past spring, 2011. We had such a good initial experience that we've been using Hugo all year to catch up on home improvement projects. Hugo is great! He's worked on variety of projects in our current home in Rockville as well as at our rental property in Silver Spring. He's done the following for us: plumbing (installing new faucet), electrical (added new lighting), installed new doors, removed porch railing, disassembled and removed an old shed, dry wall work, painting (inside and outside), installed attic stairs, fixed a leaky window, did some siding and fixed a leak in the roof.
