Julie, Walter, and the rest of the team were amazing, and I am not one to dole out that kind of review lightly. The time when we were originally supposed to have the work done was during the two weeks straight of rain, which was an impediment. Julie did an absolutely superb job of keeping me informed and up-to-date. Walter, who was in charge of the crew that came out to do the work, was very conscientious and attuned to detail. I had three different companies give quotes for this job, and I most definitely chose the best one.

This company is great to work with. JD (owner) is a total professional as is every crew of his I've ever worked with. They showed up on time with fantastic plants (truly, these were perfect specimens even larger than promised), JD went over everything with us and with his crew to make sure we were all on the same page, and then the crew went to work. The checked in with us a few times to verify plant locations and to make sure we were pleased with the installation as it progressed. When they were finished, they cleaned up so that except for the new trees, we'd never even have known they were here. They did a fantastic job for us. We've worked with JD and his wife Julie for years. We've never had any problems with any of the services they have performed for us. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their prices are fair and the work is absolutely professional in all aspects of their operation.

The team arrived promptly when they said they would, cleaned up the yard afterwards and put back trellises, lawn ornaments and drain pipes from downspouts. Beds were cleaned up, weeded, shrubs I wanted trimmed were trimmed and new mulch applied. Nothing was damaged as has been my experience with other landscaping services I used in the past (broken gate, ripped out healthy crape myrtle, shrubs trimmed that shouldn't have been trimmed). Kuhlman did an amazing job --my garden has never looked so good--and I will be using them again next year.

Crew was on time, and finished in one day. We are very happy with the work. It looks great and is essentially completely level except for a slight slope that's important for water runoff away from the house. JD (the owner) was on time and professional when giving the free estimate and communicating with the company was very easy and pleasant. It was clear that JD was experienced and knew what he was talking about, which gave us confident the job would be done well, and it was. Price was significantly below another quote that we received.

Kuhlman Lawn Service did a great job aerating my lawn and Julie was very responsive to all my emails for setting up the service. A crew of two guys arrived, walked the property with me, and got right to work. I will definitely use Kuhlman in the future for next year's aeration or any future landscaping needs.

Very impressed with this company so far. They've been very responsive, on time, and the work quality is excellent. Would recommend them to anyone looking for either routine lawn service, or a landscaping overhaul.

How'd it go? In a word, perfectly. Thanks to the efforts of the owners of this family-owned business - JD and Julie, what work could have been problematic was handled both professionally and skillfully. The trees that required removal were located close to my home and I was very nervous about their removal. Although they arrived with a large crew, JD personally undertook removal of the trees and I couldn't have placed my trust in anyone better. Additionally, the location for the under-grounding of the drainage line is adjacent to where all utility services enter my home. Again, I was nervous as trenching in such a sensitive area could potentially lead to expensive and dangerous mistakes. As an example, they had to cross a Verizon FIOS fibre optic service line, which was buried just 10 inches underground - and if broken, would require replacement from the street to inside the house at a cost of over $1,000. Again, JD recognized the potential problem, handled the trenching in the sensitive area personally, and any potential problem was completely avoided. It's nice to work with someone with experience. Lastly, the quality of the work is fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased with all of the work that Kuhlman's Garden Service completed for us, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others and plan to use them again myself. Thanks for a great job done!

Mowing service is as advertised. Guys are on a weekly routed schedule and do a great job. However I am trying to get work done to the backyard to no avail. I was told it might take a few weeks because of work load of other jobs. Completely understandable, but it has been over a month and a half. Cannot provide a true overall grade yet (thus a C for now), waiting to see how owner responds. But if it were today I'd give an A for mowing and an F for any other work because it has not been started. To be continued.

Due to our need to use the lawn in spring and summer, I decided not to have the service done right now. If I do decide to revitalize the yard, I will definitely call Kuhlman Lawn Service.

We are the same people who submitted the review regarding the large-scale installation of gardening beds with trees and shrubs (~75 plants total) in our backyard, followed by core aeration, seeding, and grub treatment of our entire property (work completed October 14, 2013). Since this work was completed, Kuhlman Lawn Service has done a wonderful job checking up on our property to make sure all plants are healthy and that the new garden beds have proper drainage. They have quickly and happily replaced a few trees (under warranty) that didn't fare well after the past two harsh winters, and everything else they planted is doing beautifully. The work we just had done in Spring 2015 was for garden bed extension and reshaping (to expand the beds to accommodate new tree growth), mulch removal and replacement for all garden beds on the property, and some tree and shrub trimming. Consistent with our previous experiences working with Kuhlman Lawn Service (we've made use of their services since 2011), everyone we dealt with was friendly and respectful, and the workers left our property clean and tidy after completing the work. As before, we look forward to working with them more in the future!

They were very nice people but they were over expended. They were not able to provide personal service. So, I stopped using them and hired someone else.

Kuhlman provided a quote initially and then performed a one-time service for that quote. I was very happy with the service. They were prompt, did what they were supposed to and everything looked really good. They continued through the season with weekly service. I never had any issues and will continue to use their services. Their billing is easy and their office is responsive.

First contacted Kuhlman Lawn Service after another provider was completely unresponsive. Their staff/ownership were friendly, courteous and very responsive. They had an employee come to the house within a couple of days to do a walk-around to assess what was needed. He seemed knowledgeable and friendly. I received a proposal in less than a week. The price was not the least expensive but also not the most expensive. We agreed on the proposal and I requested they come a bit earlier than than had originally proposed in order to have the work done before our pool opening. The staff/ownership understood my request and worked me in as I requested. Their crew of 3 showed up in the morning and worked throughout the day. They were also courteous and did a very nice job. All work discussed was completed and they cleaned up after themselves nicely. I am completely satisfied and hope to maintain a working relationship with them for our future needs.

This is a family business and because of that, everyone is quite professional, communication is terrific, pricing is reasonable and they are pleasant to deal with. They also take good care to make my mother's home grounds look well-cared for and at a much better cost than others I have engaged. I will continue to use their services as long as we own the house.

Kuhlman's performed a major fall cleanup for us that included leaf collection and removal, trimming of several shrubs and plants, and removal of several dead shrubs. We were very pleased with the result and the lead crew member (Walter) continuously checked in with us to make sure we were pleased with the work. This is the second time we have used Kuhlman's and we would definitely hire the company again. The owner (Julie) is also very responsive.

The work was impeccable. There wasn't a single leaf anywhere to be found in my yard. I would definitely recommend Kuhlman to others.

Very professional, husband and wife team. Lots of experience a little bit more expensive than the others but they know what they are doing. Their price is fair and they are very prompt. I'm looking forward to working with them.

We were looking for a quote on some yardwork. Called the provider and they said they would come take a look. They scheduled for a 1-2pm window, and called to tell us that they would be more like 2-2:30pm. No problem. They called at something like 2:40 and said nobody was answering. They had the wrong address despite being told it at least twice. They then said that they don't do townhouses. Given that this is Montgomery Village, which I bet is at least 70% townhomes, you would think that would be a question early on in the process to save everyone time.

We have used JD and Julie for three years. They are extremely personable, professional, easily reachable, and prompt. The job is always done with care and thoroughness. Their employees are always polite and professional, with meticulous attention to details. We will continue to use their services.

We called Kuhlman's for cleanup on a two acre yard for a home we had recently purchsed. The yard had been neglected for years and was in bad shape. JD's quote was very reasonable for the amount of work to be performed, and he took the time to walk through the yard with us and answer questions. The crew was on time, efficient, and professional. They did a great job. Same goes for the weekly mowing service. We couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.

We were very satisfied with Kuhlman's work and will use them again. The scheduling was easy and prompt. The workers were careful to protect existing landscaping and new annuals. They asked questions about areas to include and exclude. The gardens look beautiful!

We have worked with Kuhlman Lawn Service since 2011- they have performed annual core aeration and seeding of our entire property and have installed gardening beds with trees and shrubs around the perimeter of our house. The crew was great. They showed up on time, went right to work, and were extremely professional in all aspects of the work performed. They did a fantastic job and left the area spotless. They arrived fully briefed by JD Kuhlman on what we wanted done, and if they weren't sure, they stopped and asked us. The crew couldn't have been nicer. We use Kuhlman for lawn mowing and trimming, but this is the first time we used them for this kind of cleanup work. We will use them again, and I highly recommend this firm.
