See above... Written in wrong area but to long to write again and unable to copy and paste. The services he was to provide were ... replacing my roof and fixing a few mobile home sheetrock walls (2 small areas needing 1/2 -1 piece of sheet rock if it even needed that much and one larger area needing about 2-3 peices of sheet rock and I was going to buy my own paint and paint the walls myself so he didnt have to charge me any more then needed. The roof was repaired and the inside was not!
Description of Work: I have a 14x80 mobile home its a 2001 so its not in bad condition except the roof started having a problem due to the trees around my home and we didnt know it. Long story short by the time we realized we had a leak we also had mold and wall damage. I heard about mike through a friend who said Mike had fair prices so I called him up ,and he came out and gave me an estimate... while he was giving the estimate I was trying to tell him that he wasnt factoring in possible damage, that I wasnt sure how long it had been leaking since my roof shows no signs of damnage untill it was clear it had been leaking a while, he ignored me insisting that he had thought of all the possible situations. He told me a price of $2800.00 - $3000.00 Im a little fuzzy on the exact price as he bundled the inside and outside work into one price on paper and just told me how much the roof would cost seperately. He told me it would take one day "no problem" its a small roof ! but instead his men quit early the first day claiming they ran out of material, Mike came out and said they had plenty of material he dont know why they left.. oh but see... its taking more plywood then he expect (like i told him it would!) and hes gonna have to charge me an extra fee per piece of plywood and his fee was explained to me like this. Well plywood is $10 a sheet and then labor so you'll be paying $20 extra per sheet. Now since this was his mistake shouldnt he just take it as a loss and estimate a little more carefully next time?? Nope I got to pay for his miscalulations. Ok so when the roofing part of the job was done he was given$4200.00 which covered the cost of the roofing and had money left over to go towards the inside work that was to be done. Mike promised to be back within three weeks to finish the job.. its now March and I have yet to see him, so I called him today asking about the final cost of my roof to see how much I would have left for the inside work and how much more I had to add inorder to get my work finished. He told me the my roof now cost $3200. to repair so I said ok well that means I have $1000 left over, his response was well what do you mean?? what you paid me was for the roof only... I said well I paid you $4200 you just said my job cost $3200... his response was No he didnt!! well if he said that he made a mistake see the price he quoted me was for the roof alone!! ... the price he quoted me on the estimate was $6200 total for inside and roof work so he still wasnt making any sence with the figures but in the end after a slightly heated conversation he claims that my roof ended up costing $4200 !! So now I have mold inside my home in several places, my daughter has allergy issues now and we can not afford to have this issue fixed thanks to Mikes Carpentry being a total rip off!!
