On the first day, they jackhammered the old concrete patio and the steps going to our front door. Also, they dug all the way to the bottom of the garage's foundation and then they dug up and formed our new patio as well. On the second day, they poured new concrete down for our patio, rebuilt our steps, and fixed the cinder block on our garage. They slid the cinder block back into place, underpinned it, and then made it so it wouldn't slide back out. On the third day, they stained our concrete a very nice brownish color. The fourth day was going to be for sealing the concrete; however, we got rain almost everyday for the next week and a half. They said it needs a minimal of 24 hours to dry before it can get wet or before we can walk on it just so it won't get ruined later on. It rained so much that they just couldn't do it for a week and a half. They came back out on a Saturday, which was the first day that they could, and finished it up.
I have to say that they were very professional and very hardworking as they were doing this. They got alot done in a very short time. Our new patio is 120 square feet and our walkway was 40 square feet. That was alot of work right there that they got done quickly. I know the rain held things up, but I'm glad that they waited for the rain to stop, so they could get it done right. It looks perfect!
The new patio is exactly what we imagined it would be and we couldn't be happier with it. We're also glad that they fixed the cinder block to our garage as well. They did a really good job and we couldn't be happier!

My basement would leak, when it would rain, from where an exterior pipe entered the basement due to poor sealing. Ken came out to my home to review the damage, suggest a solution, and provide a quote. Ken was very helpful and answered my questions about warranties, described how the workers will try to save my bushes even when dug up by placing in water, and the timing before I signed the contract. I contacted the office to schedule the work to be performed. Two workers showed up on the day scheduled. They were late, but apologized and worked well while explaining what they were doing. A bush in my front yard was dug up to access the problem area. The workers had to come back the next day to leave time for a coating to dry. No problem. But I was concerned about my bush. I don?t live at this house so I wasn?t able to monitor exactly how the bush was left. The next morning, I noticed they left my bush just in the yard out of soil with no water (contrary to what Ken told me would happen). When the workers returned they finished the work and put the bush back and suggested I water it a lot over the next few days. Well, the bush is dead even after a lot of watering. I was disappointed what Ken noted would happen (bush will be in water) didn?t actually happen. I?m not so concerned over the bush itself, it was just disappointing to been told one thing during the sales consult and another thing happen during the actual work.
When the workers left, I paid them via check and asked about when I will receive my warranty documentation. They said, as soon as the check has cleared they will mail the warranty. A few weeks went by (and my check cleared a few days after the work was done) and haven't received the warranty. I followed up with the office, the woman who answered my call took down my name and said they will have it in the mail shortly. Another few weeks go by. No warranty. I call the office several times over the next few weeks. Each time I am told they will put in the mail immediately. After five months have passed, I still did not have my warranty.
UPDATE: Management followed up with me after this review and rectified the documentation situation. She was apologetic and wanted to change my perception of the company, which she did. She was very professional and FedEx'ed the warranty for the next day.
"[member name remove] it was a pleasure working with you as well. We greatly appreciate your business and look forward to working with you in the future for any concrete projects. We thank you for the kind review!!!"
The job had a bit of a rough start, and I feel like there were some internal communication problems between their sales / management and workers. The first crew arrived and did not know that we had asbestos tile in our basement (we went over this with the salesperson) and hung around for about an hour before telling us that they can't do the job and left. I then went back and forth with their office via many many phone calls about getting the tiles removed. They initially said they would do it, and even gave me a quote to properly remove the tiles, but then backed out of that as well, telling me they weren't certified to handle it, which was a bit of a waste of time. We got a separate licensed abatement company to properly remove the tiles instead. After that was all done, worldwide came back and did their waterproofing install, which took a few days longer than they said it would due to truck problems and weather. I wasn't too happy about how they parked their truck directly on my back lawn, which messed up the lawn pretty bad. I'm not sure why that was necessary as I do have a driveway. After they were done, there were several problems with the final product that we had to bring them back to fix several times, such as a pipe install that was obstructing our only outdoor outlet next to my driveway, and some other small pipe routing problems. One of their pumps also did not initially work, even though I was told it was tested. They had to come back again time to fix that.
After that, we did have to get them out 2 more times to tie up some additional small leaks in the the new piping, which they eventually did.
The most important thing is that so far, my basement has been dry. Even after several very heavy rains, I haven't had anymore water on the floor. While the process was not the smoothest, the end result produced the results I was looking for after all.
"I appreciate the review and we are very glad to hear the basement is dry !!! Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to further assist you. I do apologize regarding the mis-communication with the rep about the floor tiles as he was unaware that we no longer offer those services for liability purposes. We greatly appreciate you as a customer and look forward to assisting you in the future with any waterproofing or concrete needs :)"
"[Member name removed], It was a great pleasure working with you and your neighbors. All of you were a pleasure to work for and we are very glad you are pleased with your driveway !!"
I got about 4 estimates on how to fix my basement water leaks. My issue had to do with a seam in the basement wall that was leaking. Most companies wanted to install an outrageously priced new drainage system along the inside of my basement wall which would have required my basement floor to be dug up and a new drain field, sump tank and sump pump to be installed. Worldwide realized this was not needed and excavated the dirt on the outside of the house and sealed the seams that were leaking. They then filled the hole and added some additional fill dirt to ensure the ground was properly graded away from the house. It has been over 6 months and we have had no issue. They provided a 10 year warranty on their work.
Smart, reasonable approach from some reasonable folks! Get their opinion before you do your basement work!
The installation was done in two days and the crew was great. Everything was as described. When the job was done, we still had some water in the walls that needed to drain and dry out. At the time i asked, "what should I do if the walls don't completely dry out?" and was told, to call the office and we'll set something up.
At this point 2 months later there are two spots that still have not completely dried out. I have contacted worldwide a number of times by phone and email looking for a follow up visit with no response. In addition, they were supposed to come back and install a battery backup system with no response. Normally I would not care about the backup system because I could just hire someone else. However we have around a $150 credit with the company as a portion of the original job was not completed based on my request. Instead of a credit, they said they'll put it toward the backup system which would be fine, if they would come and install it!! When I have asked to return the $150 to my Credit Card so I can hire someone else, I have received no response.
Lastly, I have not received any documentation on their advertised transferable warranty after three requests. It seems once I paid them, they moved onto something else.
I would advise if you use worldwide to pay in installments, or withhold a portion of the final payment until you see the problem has been fixed. Otherwise, you may never hear back!!
The owner who we spoke with did not show up that day. The foreman had the details that he had written down from the initial visit, but some of the details of the job that he told us would be done, was not what the foreman or his crew did. We were told we would get a window well installed below the level of our driveway and a grate would go over it that could be driven over. This did not happen. Our window well is about 2 inches above ground and could be hit when backing into the driveway. It was documented that they would use some sealant that we had purchased and seal around our basement windows. When they completed the job, they took the sealant with them! It wasn't theirs!
Overall, I'm satisfied with the work, as we haven't had problems with the repairs they did, but I did not like that plans that were discussed with us were not carried out by the crew. The owner never contacted us after the initial visit. Perhaps if he showed up to check on the jobs he books, these details would be carried out as they are described when we hand over our deposits.
This company is top notch!!
"Thank you so much for the great review. It was a great pleasure working with you and your neighbor. Im glad you enjoyed your giftcard. Thanks for being a loyal customer :)"
They had come out on a prior occasion in October 2012 (did separate write up on this) to provide us an estimate to correct our floor issues. At the point they came out we were in dispute with a prior handyman service (and still are) over work that had been abandoned so we chose not to have worldwide start until we could try to resolve the dispute. World Wide worked with us to help us with costs and to wait until we had tried further to either get the prior work done or recover money that had been taken for work to be operformed that never was.Throughout all of this World Wide kept in touch and continued to hold to their estimate and work with us!
The day of the new pour finally came in December as with winter upon us we could wait no longer.
World Wide was ready and scheduled a date that met our needs!
They came as they said they would at 8AM.
They proceeded to do all of the prep needed for the pour and removed a piece of the side entrance door sill plate that had been poured over by the previous owners - this was one of our problem areas that they corrected. The over pour was needed because our garage had previously been converted to heated office space and over the 14 years the driveway which is asphalt had two repair jobs that raised the outside level nearly 5 inches higher than the concrete floor. The over pour they did fixed this issue as well as some settling cracks that occurred in the old slab. They provided us a smooth floor finish and a i inch step down 12 inches back from the entrance to facilitate good draining and a tight seal for our new garage door. When they finished they cleaned everything up to a point that it looked like they had not been there.
They did a great job from start to finish!
If I have any other concrete work to be done World Wide will be the only call I need to make!
"Mr. V - Thanks so much for the great review. We are happy you were pleased with the work. It was great pleasure meeting with you and your wife. Thanks for being a loyal customer and we look forward to working with you again in the future :)"
