Description of Work: I initially called for a cleaning of my boiler. Well no one told me when I bought the house that you needed to have the boiler serviced yearly. Who knew? Well it had been 6 years. The technician was very professional and cleaned my extremely dirty unit. He also inspected the flue pipe and found corrosion, like a six inch hole. So.... New pipe was in order!! Very fast to fix, and at a reasonable price. I will be using them for my annual service from now on.

+ -1 moreJust fine. Annual price has gone from $175 (I think) to $225 partly because of a different level of contract as the furnace aged. Don't really know how this compares to other prices. Seems to be a family business.
Description of Work: Have had oil burner maintenance and service contract with Richard's for several years now. The annual contract includes a pre-season maintenance and they are are on call during the heating season. When there have been problems they have always responded very promptly, including weekends.

Description of Work: He won't drive 15 miles to Baltimore. That's his prerogative, I guess, if he doesn't want the business.

+ -1 moreOur oil furnace died on a Sunday, the coldest day of the year. We called our oil company but they wouldn't come out until the next day, and they would charge $180 for the trip plus labor. We called another company (I don't remember who) and they referred us to Richard. Richard arrived within the hour and de-iced the furnace lines. He got the furnace started again. However the furnace was maybe 12 years old, and it was rusty and had large holes; he said it wasn't safe. He recommended replacing the furnace and he turned it off.
Description of Work: De-iced frozen lines to oil furnace. Diagnosed unsafe/broken furnace and turned furnace off. He responded the same day.
