Mosquito control services as well as ticks, fleas and stink bugs.
So far so good, we hired Mosquito Squad of Annapolis at the beginning of the summer. For years my husband has been unable to sit out in our backyard during the summer months. This year we have spent more time outside than we ever have. It has been wonderful.

This is a great company. They came when they said they would, set us up on a payment plan and even extended our service date so that we could accommodate a house party. I would recommend them. The provider comes in a company vehicle, knocks on the door to let you know that they are going to spray and then leaves the receipt in the door. Very courteous and never any problems.

I was very pleased from beginning to end with their service. They were very courteous on the phone for the initial appointment setup and the appointment reminder. Allowing me to pay for the service online via a secure website was awesome. They came highly recommended and I was not disappointed.

Description of Work: They are very customer service oriented and a pleasure to work with. When they sprayed my yard the first time, it was between rain storms and I was concerned about the product being washed away. When i contacted them, they assured me that the product would work, however, if i was still concerned they would respray at no additional cost to alleviate my fears. No arguments, no hassles, just pure good customer service. I have already recommended them to my friends. Best part is so far, substantially less mosquitoes in the yard. For the first time in years, i may actually get to enjoy the backyard without being an all you can eat buffet for mosquitoes! I plan on using them again and again.

They do a thorough job and it always works well. Once we got rain immediately after they sprayed that washed the chemicals off. They came back the next day and sprayed again free of charge just to be sure the job was done right.

the person spraying was very thorough with the spraying and advised us on how and when to spread the granules as they had to be put down closer to when our guests arrived for our party. The treatment was very effective and I highly recommend.
Description of Work: the company sprayed for mosquito's prior to an outside party and also provided granules to spread a couple hours before our guests arrived.

I saw an ad in the "Pasadena Voice" and an article about mosquitoes and ticks above the ad, written by Mosquito Squad co-owner Kendra. I was very impressed by the article, and the ad offered $25 off initial treatment. I live in a neighborhood where standing water and junk is everywhere, where the state sprays for mosquitoes all summer long, and where both myself and my friend who lives in a guest apartment on my property have both contracted Lyme disease (verified by two blood tests on each of us) from my property. I had stage 3 neurological Lyme and have chronic Lyme (my friend fared better with quicker diagnosis and treatment). My backyard is my oasis, with a pool, a koi pond, and lots of lovely flower gardens, yet it had become a virtual "death trap." The stuff of horror movies almost ... My neighbors on either side are very problematical; one neighbor is a hoarder who has loads of junk holding standing water outside, as well as a 15-ft "popup" pool that is never used but is full of rancid water, ducks, and mosquito larvae. Periodically, the mosquitoes all hatch at once and "swarm." My neighbor on the other side has lots of junk and an unused fish pond that is full of rancid water and mosquito larvae as well, with hatching and swarming activity as well. After seeing the ad for Mosquito Squad and reading the accompanying very well-written article, I called immediately and spoke with co-owner Kendra. She is super nice, knows her stuff, and seemed confident that her Mosquito Squad could eliminate up to 95% (from 80% to 95%) of my mosquitoes, as well as kill ticks in the yard and control the spread of ticks on my property. I was dubious but willing to give it a try for $575 for 6 or 7 months of services with them coming every 3 weeks to spray because I was desperate about the Lyme ticks and my friends were being eaten alive by mosquitoes (I am immune; they bite but I do not react but they did swarm around my face when I was trying to swim in the late afternoon/evening). In all fairness, there was an initial mixup and lack of communication with the team she sent out, but my phone calls and irritability were cheerfully dealt with and both owners came out the next day and spent 45 minutes speaking with me, addressing my concerns, etc. and I was completely and totally satisfied and the team that comes out are now very good at communicating, so the owners addressed the problem with their staff completely and thoroughly. Also, my fish pond has tall cattails in it and when the guys put a tarp over the pond, they knocked over the cattails and spilled two gallons of mud into the fish pond after my friend and I had spent 11 hours draining and mucking it, and I have to say I was pretty P.O.ed about it. The clear water is now tea-colored and for awhile the fish were very oxygen-distressed, although that seems to be getting better after cleaning the filter 8 times. I will have to remove the cattails (which are laying sideways at the moment because they are no longer rooted in the pond) because the Squad puts a tarp over the pond in order to spray thoroughly; the spray is toxic to fish (but not my dog). If I leave the cattails growing upright (to 6 feet or higher) the Squad cannot spray in a 10-foot area around the pond, which is not an option for me because I want the best coverage possible. I had a conversation with Kendra about this where she explained my options, and I and did make the point that the guys should have discussed this with me instead of knocking over and breaking my cattails and spilling the containers they were in into the pond and polluting it. I think they will have learned from this, however, and I doubt they will make this mistake with other customers in the future. Back to the treatments: it was still early spring and not very hot out after the first couple of treatments, so it was hard to tell if it was "working" or if it just was just the cool weather, but it did seem like there were a LOT less mosquitoes. Now it is hot summer weather, I've had three or four treatments (can't remember) and there are literally no mosquitoes. I mean, **NO mosquitoes**. I'm sure there are a couple out there somewhere, but if so, they've gotta' be hurtin' bad ... The neighbor's rancid pool of mosquito larvae has generated one huge swarm so far, but the only reason I know it is from all the dead mosquitoes that I had to scoop out of my pool. It's a PITA to do, but Mosquito Squad can't control the carcasses! It was absolutely amazing that thousands of mosquitoes apparently swarmed onto my property and met their untimely demise. My friend who lives in my guest house is a mosquito magnet and has suffered since she's lived here, and now she can come out in the late afternoon, swim at dusk, we can sit outside on the pool deck and enjoy a drink and conversation, all unmolested by thirsty bloodsuckers ... THERE ARE NO MOSQUITOES. I would definitely call the situation 95% (or more) solved. It's impossible to tell about the deer ticks since they are microscopic and we never saw the ones that infected each of us (over the course of two years), but I have to believe that they are being controlled as well as the mosquitoes. If we can keep from being reinfected with Lyme disease, every penny spent on Mosquito Squad (and I believe it is quite a reasonable fee) is worth it 10 times over. Words cannot convey how horrible the mosquito problem was here - I can't explain it well enough to really paint the clearest picture of the unbelievable improvement there has been. I really didn't care that much about the mosquitoes, only the ticks - but there just aren't any mosquitoes anymore. They fly to my property from the neighbors' infested yards and they just drop dead. Or don't fly here at all anymore. MOSQUITO SQUAD IS AMAZING. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Description of Work: Laying and checking tick tubes. Spraying property for mosquito and tick control. Contracted services to come out every 3 weeks from April to October to spray and check/resupply tick tubes. They tarp my fish pond before spraying to avoid killing the fish, and the fish are still alive - but the mosquitoes are NOT!

I saw their booth at a Home Show. I am a mosquito magnet and quite bothered by them. It made it very difficult to enjoy the outdoors. I was quite curious as to whether this would work. John came out to the house and told us the areas that he would be able to treat. We live on the water, so he has to spray so many feet from the water. He would be able to do around the house, decks and flower beds. After the first spray I noticed a decrease in mosquitos. We have had our second treatment and I can now enjoy the outdoors without bug spray. I can sit out on the deck without getting eaten alive by mosquitos! I have to say it does work! I receive an email regarding which day they will spray. I am asked not to go outside for 30 minutes. They will work with me regarding a convienent time to spray. They work quickly and will leave a notice on the door regarding the time they have sprayed. The best part is little to no mosquitos!!! I would highly recommend them and wish my neighbors would start using them.
Description of Work: The Mosquito Squad sprays the yard every 3 weeks during mosquito season.
