George was GREAT! Punctual, professional, and very personable. Initial work took a few months, where George was on site for weeks advising and building walls and columns, as well as covering the exterior of the addition with stone which complimented the existing brick structure. This work included building the basement/foundation walls of the addition, covering the exposed exterior walls with stone, and building of a wood burning fireplace covered in stone both inside of the addition and integrated with the exterior stone work. Months later following a failure of 40 plus yards of poured concrete, George came back and helped in the repair of all of the damaged walls, and added a stone cover on the original home’s exposed foundation walls. About a year later, following serious storm damage as a 100 plus year old oak uprooted and crashed into a span of our garden walls, George worked with the concrete contactor to rebuild the block wall core and replace/repair the stone covering. We called on George again recently to put a matching stone face on the recently added stand-by generator concrete pad, as well as cut, seal and repoint the stone base of our shed. Every job was completed beautifully. The original work and the new work is indistinguishable from each other; all looks original.

Excellent! High quality workmanship by a master mason. Two years have past from the completion of the original work and it all still looks great.
Description of Work: I first met George Boblitz as my wife and I were planning the construction of a large addition to our home, and the addition of masonry garden walls around our property in 2009. George not only found and matched brick colors, he identified stone colors that blended with the existing brink work beautifully. Over the course of six months, he built the basement walls, all of the garden walls and brick columns, faced new and original sections of the home and garden walls with stone, and replaced old, damaged brick in the original home with perfectly matched new brick. For the first three months, George worked six days a week, always starting early and working well into the afternoon to early evening. His suggestions on fine tuning our design were always accepted and incorporated. Friendly, easy going, professional and a true master of his craft, George is outstanding. A few months after the build was complete, he stopped by to look over the finished work and noted a few spots that needed pointing, which he completed. In April 2011 a 125 year old neighbor’s tree was uprooted in a storm and fell across our backyard, damaging sections of the garden walls, as well as destroying lighting, and landscaping. With one call, George came back, got the materials and replaced the damaged stone facings, and then went around our home, looking for and repairing any minor issues he found in all of the masonry work. George is one of the few contractors I have worked with that I would highly recommend for your masonry work.
