dispatched by our home warranty company, the husband & wife owners came to our house to make our AC actually cool again. they are a "gas & go" company .... meaning they throw Freon at it and hurry on to their next appointment. they overlooked obvious signs a leak was present and did not pressure check the system. when I called that evening to say the system still wasn't working, the owner only cared about having me read the model and serial number to her, she forgot to get them when she was on site. she hung up on me when I pushed (politely but firmly) for them to return the next day. temps soared to upper 90s over the next several days, heat indexes 110 and more. it took two weeks for the home warranty company to dispatch a new contractor, partially because this owner woman tried to have our claim denied.

They were recommended by another friend. They were good people to work with. The problem with the heat pump that they came to fix, the parts were not available locally and they were actually able to order them and get them in and get my heat pump back up and running in a reasonable amount of time even thought the parts were not available locally. I really appreciate them going the extra mile for me.

I have 2 heat pumps in my home from 1981 and 1984. When I bought my house I purchased a home warranty program. I had a few problems with one of the units. The home warranty sent out Lucas Heating and Colling right away. Ryan was prompt and easy to deal with. He made several repairs per the request of the home warranty program. At the last repair he deemed one of theheat pumps irreparable. At that time I decided with Ryan that I would purchase 2 units and upgrade them from the units the home warranty would provide. Ryan discussed all my options with me and details of units. He even spoke with me at length over the phone when I had follow up questions. I decided to go with top of the line Trane units which at this time are so quiet I can't even hear them running. My whole house vibrated from the old units. The day after I gave him the deposit he picked up all my equipment and made a date for installation. It took 2 days to put in 2 inside and 2 outside units. He came back to clean up everything to my liking and was a pleasure to deal with. I expect a lot of attention when spending the amount of money I did and I feel I got it.

My a/c went out around August 4 or 5th. Called my home warranty and they assigned this company. Was supposed to receive a callback within 24 hours, never did. Mind you, it was 100 degrees outside! Called and left a message, no return call. Called home warranty company, who magically were able to reach them and set up a day for them to come to my home on Monday. I was going out of town, but my friend and pet were there when they arrived promptly that Monday and diagnosed the issue. Said they had to order parts, should take 48-72 hours to receive. Did not hear anything within that timeframe. Called, left message. no response. Called home warranty, they spoke with them and said they were still waiting for parts. I thenbegan calling every day and never got them on the phone..always had to go through my home warranty. This went on for 2 weeks-noone could explain why it was taking so long, where this mystery part was...they would not supply any tracking numbers or info re: the company they ordered the part from. Finally 2 1/2 weeks later they called me(yeah, shocked me too) and told me the part was in. Came out that day, installed the part and left. The air still wasnt working. They came out 2 days after that and found an additional issue and repaired it, and then it worked fine. It was absolutely ridiculous that it took almost three weeks to fix my a/c in the middle of a very hot spell in the summer...that they were non responsive only made it worse. Read reviews on this company on other websites and you will see I am not alone with my complain re: this company. I thought they were acting this way because it was thru my home warranty, but the other complaints I have read dispelled that myth. I would never recommend them. Use them at your own risk!

Despite it being late in the day, this company had someone out to our house within 45 minutes. They also did not charge overtime as other companies we called were going to do. Their responsiveness kept us from spending a very cold night in a heater less house.

I would recommend Lucas Heating & Cooling. My overall experience was grade "A".

These guys are a great local family owned business. My pilot light went out last year, probably because of the wind. They matched my home warranty call out fee, and quickly assessed and fixed the problem. Had them quote me on a new HVAC system as well, good competitive price, I just didn't do it because my company cut my overtime.Summary- Easy to talk to on phone, easy to deal with, they know their stuff, honest and reliable.
