Did not go well. Inspector said the entire fireplace required replacement at about $30,000, and it did not meet code today or in 1983. We obtained a second opinion from a battalion fire chief. No code violations noted and the fireplace only required $3,000 in maintenance.

I'm not qualified to say how satisfied my client was with the inspection itself, but I can tell you that I was treated very rudely by the person who answered my call when I followed up to ask for clarification on the inspection report. After many dozens of similar inspections for my buyer and seller clients over the years, I had no reason to expect anything other than a polite conversation that included an answer to my question. Instead, the responder barked at me and said that he was going to give me a little education, and he proceeded to recite codes to me. This response was completely unnecessary, and no way to win future referrals. Based on this experience, I certainly would not recommend Fire-Safe Chimney Sweeps to future clients and would, in fact, recommend against doing business with anyone so unprofessional regardless of their fireplace cleaning and repair skills (which are unknown to me). Furthermore, the cost was more than double the amount I'm accustomed to seeing from another vendor who provides similar services and conducts business in a highly professional manner, including a much more comprehensive report.

It sucked
Description of Work: They don't fail to disappoint. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate and confirmed the day of the same. No one showed up, offered a telephone call to cancel, or answered calls that day. Called the next day and manager was unapologetic and refused to discount the estimate fee having wasted three hours of my day. If they can't meet minor obligations how can they be trusted to install a source of combustion in a house?
