Description of Work: Chimney Tek cleaned my chimney very thoroughly. Accessed the roof of my oversized home and inspected Chimney from the roof.

Description of Work: The listing of the "deal "was" $99 for a Chimney Sweep and "$100 Credit Toward Masonry Repair." When they arrived, they looked at the chimney and then indicated that they did not have the tools needed to clean the flue because of its size (approximately 18" x 36"). They then returned to their shop and picked up additional tools to clean the flue. | |The work done removed the buildup on the inside of the flue, and they cleaned the roof top damper which had been stuck in an open position. | |They cleaned up the firebox and upon preparing to leave, indicated that the fact that the chimney was larger than the flues they had swept and that I owed them an additional $90.00. |Therefore, I would advise others to obtain the quoted price for the work before allowing the work to go forward.

Description of Work: Someone came out to clean the air ducts and sweep the chimney. He was here for a while and did something with the furnace (which I will never know if the job was done right or not) and then "cleaned" the chimney. I should have supervised, but figured this guy was a professional and would do his job. Fast forward to when we were going to use our fireplace for the first time a week later. We went to open the damper, and it broke because it was not put back properly. Not only that, but there was so much dirt and soot that fell out when the damper came off. Clearly, the chimney was not cleaned very well. We called a different repair company to install a new damper and even they commented on how we needed to get the chimney swept because there was a ton of dirt in there (not knowing that ChimneyTek had been out the week before).

Description of Work: They came out to do a chimney inspection and found some crumbling in the chimney box. I was quoted a price of $450 to replace. I don't feel the quote was clear because I thought that all 3 sides of the chimney box would be replaced since we had discussed the age of the fireplace, but only 1 wall was replaced.

Description of Work: Said I needed a new liner, demo the existing ceramic one....then told us one thing ..did another and I do not think that what we have is correct...I intend to get someone else look over the work by spring... At this point I am not sure we even needed to remove the other liner and we should have gotten a second opinion ...would not use them ever again. Joyce Lilly

Description of Work: I bought the $129 chimney inspection and cleaning. The contractor told me there was a piece of cement blocking the opening to my flue, so he couldn't perform the cleaning. He told me we needed flashing repairs (although the chimney was not leaking - to be safe we paid to have it repaired.) He also tried to sell us on having the brick sealed. I asked him if he would give me a credit for the $129 since he didn't clean the chimney, but he told me there is a $99 inspection fee. I never got the other $30 back.

Description of Work: We have a pellet stove and the first guy they sent out wasn't as familiar with the connecting pipe (hence B score) and did not complete the service due to access; my wife was the only one home then. Vince, the owner, came out on another day and together we got the job done. He was timely, did good work and he was helpful and informative.
