Description of Work: I initially called for some help getting more heat from my stove into my house. The guys that came were actually early, which was nice and took info on my stove and said they would get back to me, but I haven't heard from them since that date.

Description of Work: They cleaned a two story chimney in the family room. There was a small amount of soot on the floor and carpet after they left, but they were very professional and we don't have to worry about using the fireplace for a couple years.

Description of Work: Jeremy came to the house on time,was very friendly and went to work right away. He seemed very conscientious about doing his best, but during the process of finishing up, his knee accidentally pushed on one of the glass strips in the stove door resulting in its breaking. He assured me that his company would replace the piece and I told him that would be fine, that accidents do happen. I gave him the manual to the stove so his employer, Vincent, could take care of the ordering of the piece of glass, and that's when things began to go downhill. My complaint is not with Jeremy. He did his best and the breaking was truly accidental. My complaint is with the company and Vincent. First, the original paperwork, including the manual I had given them was missplaced and not found. Vincent had to return several time to remeasure the glass, and each time commented on how hard it was to find the glass piece. I found the place for him to go, telling him that it had to be special-ordered; he called to let me know they didn't have it in stock and he couldn't find any place. I located a place that dealt with parts for my stove, called his office, left the message with his office that he was to make sure the piece came to me and that I would put it in, since I had done it once before. Eventually the piece arrived and I put in the spot where the other had been broken. The fact that Vincent relied on me to do what I felt should have been his job, that he has yet to find the manuals that I loaned to him, that he was totally unfamiliar with the stove and that this process went on into the new year has me feeling that hiring him was not in any way the Big Deal I was expecting, hence my rating of C. |

Description of Work: My deal was for an inspection with a discount on any work required. The actual inspection was done very thoroughly and professionally. However, the problem began with the chimney work that needed to be done. First, no proposal or quote was provided until several phone calls and eventually a second trip to the home. In the end, they only would consider using one technique or method to do the work and that was not acceptable. They would not consider other methods of solving the problem. They are probably OK for basic and straightforward work, but they were not willing to tackle my unique situation.

Description of Work: The first time out they did not have a long enough ladder. |Second time was more about what needed to be done rather than clean the chimney. I think it was cleaned but the codes have changed since the wood stove was installed and they wanted to put a liner in the chimney. They talked about flashing but showed me picture that weren't close up enough. They want to re-cement the cap for small cracks present. And waterproofing is advised. I have not had the chimney cleaned in a number of years. So I was surprised at the list and estimated $3400 to do everything after the chimney cleaning. They did not want to move the wood stove. Not sure they did. But I know nothing about chimneys. When I read reviews of other people with other services, they all sound exactly the same. So either everyone is having the same necessary work or who knows. IN the end, it is 2 months to get another sweep out. IF the same thing happens for all (based upon reviews), then I might as well use Chimney TEK. I have to trust them and that's that. |

Description of Work: I bought a $159 Chimney Sweep and Inspection deal on 7 Sep 2015. On 8 Sep, I received an email response proposing a 18 Sep 0800-1000 appointment. The technician showed up on time, inspected the chimney, and told me that the interior needed replacing. He said that I shouldn't use the fireplace in the meantime. His diagnosis was confirmed by the company that I eventually hired to replace the chimney interior.

Description of Work: Our experience with this company was excellent. The men were totally professional and extremely conscientious regarding dust. Though the project could not be completed as originally proposed (no fault of contractor), the experience with them was great. Would recommend and use them again.

Description of Work: Chimney Tek arrived on time, put down tarps to keep my floor clean, inspected the chimney and cleaned it. They were very professional and explained what they were doing and how the chimney, flu, and cap looked. I had some questions, which he answered very competently. I would use them again next time and will recommend them to my family and friends.

Description of Work: Swept and inspected the chimney. Tech called to let us know he was en route and was very punctual. Tech was very friendly and professional, explained all steps and findings. Inspected in the house up, and from the roof down - even showed pictures. Very happy with provider, and very happy we had the inspection done before lighting a fire!

Description of Work: Well I asked for fixing a fallen siding part from my Chimney but the guys were untrained and didn't haven equipment to fix it. The only purpose for buying the deal was to fix that fallen part and not just Chimney cleaning. I asked in advance if they would be able to fix that and I was told yes but the end result was very disappointed and I decided to never buy any deal though angie list because I doesn't work most of the time.
