I was a bit dubious at first. I just wanted an end of season chimney cleaning., I use a wood stove connected to a regular fireplace flue. Its' been in place since 1993. They came out and assessed the situation. Then informed me that the chimney had only original clay liner and was not up to current AA County code nor safe. They also told me there was damage of time and weather to the crown of chimney and some gaps developing in the seals along flashing. Estimate went from a couple hundred dollars now up to about $2700. I waited, had another review and was told same thing but higher price by a different group. I went back with ChimneyTek and work was done. All was well,. Too soon about how it works as it's been a very hot summer. One side bar - while doing work they broke a warming tray off one side of wood stove. This had to be located. They stuck with the process over about 4 months until the part was found and installed. I had to call a few times but always polite responses.

Just for the sweeping itself, the cost was around $89. I think the basic chimney sweeping, they did a good job. I do not think it was very difficult. It was fine. It was probably an average job. I thought the price quote for what they thought needed to be repaired was high. When I called them and set the job up, I thought they said the price was $79, but when the guy came out to the house, they charged me $89. I called and they came out within a couple of days. They were on time. I would use them again for basic sweeping but not for repair work.

Professional and thorough. Easy to schedule, responsive. They called in advance so I could meet them (did not have to take extra time off of work). Inspection provided pictures and a detailed explanation of the 65 year old chimney's required maintenance for safety and future use (did not realize that there was possible earthquake damage/weakening from 6 years ago). Itemized estimate is appreciated and reasonable. I've kissed some frogs before so, I really appreciate their professionalism.

Josh Merson came out to give us the estimate and was extremely professional and courteous. He talked with Vince DeCrisci in the office and they came up with an honest and fair quote for the work that was substantially better than two other quotes that we received. Their technicians were awesome and the repair is perfect! We are very happy with their service and communication

This staff at this company are absolutely awesome! Crystal, the customer service representative in the office is so professional and helpful!!! The technician who came out to perform the work was punctual and courteous and very professional! They call to remind you of your appointment the day before and if you have to reschedule they do it--no problem! I knew nothing about them when I made the appointment but now that they have performed this service, I would ABSOLUTELY chose them again to perform this work or any repair work and would recommend them to everyone! Outstanding job and outstanding experience!

The repairman did a great job of explaining why each fireplace was not working, and he explained what would be good maintenance practices going forward. Cleaned and restored each fireplace, I will definitely use again.

They were prompt, honest, seemed to know what they were doing and inspired out trust, something that is not always an easy task.

But then they came and tell me I have a lot of other work that needed to be done that I didn't really think needed to be done. Then they laid out this whole expensive process I felt like it was extra long.

Arrived on time curious nice price. The problem is we had our chimney liner changed weeks later. The liner company pulled tons of debris and it looks as if our chimney was never cleaned. Scary stuff. Herein lies the problem with Angie's list. How many reviewers know if their chimney was actually cleaned? The guy can be nice,curtious, etc...I find it terrifying that my chimney was not cleaned. Furthermore our stove was not put back in correctly. They refunded our fees partially.

Everything went as planned. He arrived on time, cleaned and inspected the chimney.

Vince nor anyone else from Chimney-Tek called me the evening of the 10th nor did anyone call the following day to re-schedule. At 6:50 PM on Friday the 11th, I left a message at Chimney-Tek and shared how disappointed and upset I was with their failure to contact me as promised. On the following day, Saturday the 12th, Crystal, apparently Chimeny-Tek's scheduler, called to say that they were sorry for not contacting me, that these delays were part of the "chimney" business and that I was re-scheduled for the following Thursday, the 17th of March. After our call ended I checked the following week's weather which forecast three days of rain before my re-scheduled appointment. I left another message with Chimney-Tek that I was unhappy about having to wait another week after I waited nine days for my original appointment. Vice, the repair tech assigned to our work, called me directly the same day and commented that I was angry and unreasonable in my most recent voicemail, that he was going to make my repair for free (not sure when that message was going to be delivered) and suggested that I find another service company. I told Vince that I didn't mind paying for quality work, but that I would not consider Chimney-Tek for any further service under these circumstances.

It went okay. I hired them to do a big job of $4,000 and I haven’t heard from him yet.

I think they did a fairly good job. I had to call them back to scrub the bricks clean and grind down some of the grout which was chunky. They missed replacing 2 bricks which I emailed Vince about but never heard from them.

It was okay. It was not outstanding. I had a second opinion and it was not what they had told me. It would have cost me a lot of money. I had the repair service done by another company. They were two young guys. They were very courteous.

They were okay but I didn't use them. I did have them come out and what I wanted done was my wood burning fireplace chimney. I have two chimneys; I have one for the hot water heater and I have one for the furnace and they were telling me for what I needed to have done, the prices I thought were a little high and I wanted to get a second opinion. I had 3 other people look at the wood burning chimney and they didn't agree. I wouldn't use them again. When I first contacted them and talked to them, they were pretty quick about coming out and inspecting it but I wasn't satisfied because one guy went up on the roof and the other guy- he was the head guy I think, just came inside and looked up the chimney. I really would have liked to have had some body with a camera taking pictures.

It's been a while so my memory is slightly foggy on this but I bought one of these angie's deals for a chimney sweep in 2014, about a year after we purchased this house (built in1973). The first cleaning we bought was from another company-- recommended by a friend-- but since this deal was about $30 cheaper and ChimneyTek got such great reviews, we went with them this time. To my memory they did a great job on the actual sweep but I was less than enthusiastic about the rest of work they suggested we have done... it seemed to be quite a list, totaling a couple grand more. We hadn't noticed any other issues ourselves, nor had the previous chimney sweep. Now I want to give this disclaimer- hubbie and I are no chimney experts, and the technician had pictures to show us of the issues, so I'm not insinuating he was wrong or lying... just that I did wonder how much of the work he suggested was truly necessary/time sensitive, and how much was a hard sell. When asked which things needed to be done first (as I had other more pressing matters to take care of with the house at that time), he told me they were all important, and pretty much right away. A bit overwhelmed with the other house issues at the time and since everything with the chimney seemed fine on my end, I tabled it for later ... and never ended up doing any of it until we had our roof done last year and then, decided to just have some work done at the same time, by our first company. No problems were seen in that time between, not that that means anything. Overall I just didn't feel super trusting in the recommendations but I could be totally wrong, hence the "A" individual ratings I gave. But I did want to note it in my review and as there was no individual rating option for salesmanship, I gave the overall B rating.

They did a wonderful job of cleaning. Recommended living room fireplace be cleaned next year.

The crew was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the input on the chimney condition and their willingness to take down the old tv antenna.

They crew showed up in the earlier part of the 4 hour window. They were very professional. The service was performed in a timely fashion and was very clean. No dust, debris, etc. The two gentlemen were very polite. Would use them again.

We were selling our townhouse and need to clean and inspect the chimney. I called ChimneyTek and spoke with Crystal. She was super friendly and professional. Josh came out on time and completed the job to our great satisfaction. Then the problem struck. Our new buyers (first time home buyers) were skeptical with the wording on the inspection document. God Bless ChimneyTek... they worked with us and our nervous new buyers to put their fears at ease. ChimneyTek even came out two more times to re-inspect and certify our fireplace/chimney... at no charge to us. These folks are honest, easy going, and a true gem in the sea of Chimney Sweeps. I have two words to say --- AWESOME !!! I cannot believe how nice they were through the whole ordeal. I would not hesitate to recommend or use these folks in the future!

It went better than expected, we had to cancel our original appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. They were both friendly and responsive to our request. Called before coming, explained fully what they were doing and why. Left the site clean, and us with confidence the job was done right.

They called and asked to come earlier in the day since they had a cancellation. They arrived promptly and immediately covered the floors with tarps so no dirt or soot would be tracked through the house. While one of them vaccuumed cleaned the fireplace and chimney, the other went onto the roof to inspect the cover and outside of the chimney. When they finished, they showed me pictures of the outside of the chimney and also pointed out cracks in the fireplace floor.They explained that the fireplace insert would need to be replaced and gave me a rough estimate of the cost.

Professional, punctual and pleasant. Explained their findings with suggestions. They were not pushy about any renovations.
