They came and did work. They then gave me an estimate for some additional work, I scheduled they work, they didn't do the work because of the weather. We rescheduled, they cancelled the work because of the weather and then I never heard from them again. With the work they actually did, they did a good job. The pricing was reasonable. I would probably not use them again.

The experience was good. They were fine. They came and did the job. It took them 45 minutes and they were professional. They were good and did not leave any mess.

I initially purchased a cleaning package for $119 through an Angie's List Deal. Chimney Tek was able to fit me in before the holidays and on my schedule in mid-December, which I appreciated. . It was a relatively quick job and the guys were pleasant. I asked for recommendations on handling the drafts (I have an insert fireplace, not a masonry one) as they examined the fireplace (there are none that don't involve insulation that has to be removed if you actually want to use the fireplace). Because there was creosote glaze that couldn't be taken care of with a normal cleaning, they recommended they come back for a creosote cleaning and also recommended additional modifications to the fireplace for safety and long term use. It does come across as an upsell, but it's your choice for these options. Since I do not use the fireplace, and my intent was to get the chimney in good shape and have it examined post 2011 earthquake, I went solely with the creosote cleaning ($350). After several reschedules due to winter weather, they came out and did the mechanical cleaning using the spray that gets rid of the glaze. I'd initially been told at the first appointment that they would have to go up on the roof to approach the glaze from top to bottom as well as bottom to top, and that it would require a fire on my part to heat up the spray left. Again, it was a quicker process than I expected with neither the roof access nor the subsequent fire needed, which was great, and the guys were respectful of the floors, etc. I asked again about the drafts, since it was the owner doing the mechanical cleaning appointment, and received the same answer about insulation. Each time they gave me 2 or 4 hour window for the appointment, and consistently called about halfway through the window to either reschedule or say they would be there within an hour or so.

Great experience. I purchased a coupon on Angie's List on 1/13 and spoke to Vincent, the owner, on the same day. Service was scheduled for the 18th. I was given a 4 hour window (10a-2p) and they arrived at 12:00 noon. There were two men on the job and both were very polite and professional. They took about 30 minutes. They suggested a fireback, since we have some exposure on the back of our fireplace, but I didn't feel pressured to have it installed. I'd definitely use them again.

My experience was good. We did have to re-schedule four times due to weather issues but it was all reasonable. They were responsive and kept me informed along the way with re-scheduling. When they did arrive for the appointment, the work turned out fine and as expected.

It was a rainy day, so going up on our steep slate roof was not an option, but they cleaned the chmney from inside the house. (They had given me the choice of setting a new appt or cleaning from inside.) While they warned me it could be messy and they'd clean it up, they put a tarp down and made no mess at all. It was an amazingly quick process and I'd use this company again in a flash.

Unfortunately we thought the chimney was cleaned and inspected by this company. However, we had a "small" chimney fire last night (less than a month after cleaning) and upon further investigation it looks as though the chimney was actually not cleaned at all. I didn't stand in the room while they were "working" but given the amount of buildup there is in the chimney, we have to assume they did not do anything. Not only a waste of money but a serious fire hazard.

On time. Polite. Cleaned up everything afterwards. Did a nice job.

Splendidly!! They were punctual, polite, and professional. They were careful to keep the place clean and were courteous from beginning to end. A delight!

Charlie and helper were very pleasant and professional. I chose not to follow their recommendation for waterproof coating for the crown at this time, because I wanted to research the problem. They showed me actual pictures of the area to be treated (cracks in crown) which was very helpful.

They examined and cleaned the chimney. The two young men who were here were very polite, nice and professional. I was very pleased with promptness. They did call back. I had no problems at all. They did propose I have the chimney waterproofed. I told them we would think about it and get back to them.

Excellent initial service on Big Deal for basic cleaning and then follow-on service outside to address some recommended fixes.

I had a little trouble with scheduling but not their fault. We had an ice storm before the first scheduled appointment, and they couldn't get on my slate roof. They did an inspection and cleaning. My only complaint is they forgot to close the fireplace flue which I discovered the next morning when I heard the wind howling (it was a very cold and windy night.) Other than that I was satisfied.

They came on time, cleaned out the chimney, gave assessment of the condition of the chimney.. They were very professional, tidy and prompt.

Appeared to be very thorough, but I did not go on the roof to inspect the chimney, nor do I have enough knowledge to evaluate. The worker told me that the prior chimney sweep did not properly secure the liner that was installed.

We have used the fireplace several times since then with no problem.

They were fine. They walked in, did the work, and walked out. They were neat, clean, and did a fine work.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went really, really well. They came and did the service I bought. They were courteous and did recommend some work that needed to be done, but I knew it needed to be done so I did not feel like they were just trying to get business. The technician who came was very knowledgeable and experienced. I 100% would hire them again. We had to reschedule a couple of times.

The did an excellent job and were very personable.

Prompt professional reasonably priced. Took photos to show necessary repairs. Repair cost reasonable.

I am revising my initial review. In error I reviewed Chimney Tek with another contractors review. After reviewing my history I noticed the error. I apologize for any problem I may have caused. Chimney Tek was fine doing the job.
