My only complaint is that there was no appointment made. They just showed up.

It was good. They did a great job and I would hire them again.

This has been my best experience with any home repair. Chimney Tek was able to install a chimney insert the day after I called. I was stuck with a Gas Water Heater that I could not use because a chimney insert was needed to vent the carbon monoxide. They arrived on time, were very professional and friendly. On inspection, they found out I needed both my chimney crowns repaired. They showed me pictures of exactly where the cracks were. Rain was coming, so they came back the next day to make the repairs.

Scheduling was not a problem and they came out right on-time. They covered the floor and cleanup up well. He went up on the roof even though there was snow on it and checked it out. It was straight-forward process.

Chimney Tek did a great job for us, they completed an inspection of the chimney and removed all debris from inside the chimeny. Then we scheduled time for them to come out and install a liner. This was the really impressive part, they came out on a very cold day and it had just begun to snow, and conditions were not the greatest. Instead of rescheduling because of the weather, they continued on, working very carefully in slippery conditions and managed to install the liner in a little under four hours. The technicians were courteous and very professional and I told them I was very impressed with their work.

They were very courteous, they even got a large tree limb that had partially fallen down to the ground for me. They were conscience of not making or leaving a mess anywhere. They inspected and explained everything that they had done and fully explained what issues they saw.

They seemed okay and there were no problems. Everything seems to have worked out so far.

Service was done on time and done quickly. They also gave some helpful advice on servicing and working with the chimney.

I didn't realize until after they did the work that I couldn't send their report into our insurance company. How can Chimney Tek even be in business without certification? Guess there are no regulations to prevent likewise practices. We had to pay another company who requires their staff to hold active certification as a chimney inspector. In addition, the certified inspection was very different from Chimney Tek's inspection. While I have major repairs needed on my chimney, the suggested repair order from Chimney Tek would not have been to code. I'm sorry to say that my time and money was wasted by doing business with Chimney Tek.

Scheduling was fine. They were very professional They also noticed that the chimney needed some repointing and they took care of this. The pricing seemed reasonable. I asked a lot of questions and they were able to answer them for me. They also cleaned up well after themselves and they were right on time.

Major repairs required and done to par.

While out for the cleaning they determined that the cleaning wasn't needed but that there were some major repairs that needed to be addressed before the chimney could be used safely. They also determined that the wood stove we wanted to use (in addition to the fireplace) was damaged and could not be repaired. The guys doing the work were respectful, cleaned up after themselves, and were very patient in explaining everything that needed to be done. While the need for repairs was completely unexpected they had pictures of each section that needed repair and explained why the repair was needed and what would happen if the repair wasn't completed.

I did not hear the combined cost of the job. The work was done very well and I was pleased, but shocked at the final cost of my extra things done.

Our chimney had some equipment the tech was not comfortable in working with. He suggested we get a refund.

When I originally signed up for the (DEAL!!!), I filled out the online form with my phone number and 3 dates that would be my preference for having the work done. I didn't hear anything back for about two weeks so I called the company to see what was going on. The owner said I was supposed to call him? Why did I fill out the form and send my cell phone number? But moving on we agreed on a date, he said someone would be out the following Thursday. The following Monday, I happened to be home and there were the chimney sweeps at the door. I told them they were lucky to catch me and that they were supposed to be there on Thursday, not Monday, however since they were there they could go ahead and do the work. The gentleman hopped up on the roof and within 5 or 10 minutes told me that he was not familiar with my type of fireplace and that someone else was going to come out to do the cleaning on Thursday the originally scheduled date. He then proceeded to tell me that I had four small cracks in my chimney cap and that he could fix them for $450.00. I said that sounded like a lot of money for the amount of work and material involved and I was not interested at this time. That was the last I heard from this company. No one has ever called to explain why they did not come or to reschedule. Thats been 2 or three weeks ago. I don't normally sign up for deals like this on the internet for just this reason. I thought I would give Angies list a try and I guess the 119.00 was a lesson learned in several ways. I won't be signing up for any Angie deals in the future and I can check this contractor off my list when I do get my chimney cleaned. Angie, I think you need to watch the video on your site about being careful about deals that seam too good to be true, it had all the elements of my experience with Angies List!!!!!! Donald R. Owner came out. He was very personable and friendly. Provided pictures of the inside of my chimney to show me damage that needed repair. I had just purchased this home, so I was unfamiliar with what needed doing. However, I don't feel that I was taken advantage of despite my ignorance. He took the time to show me maintenance and offered ideas to cut cost rather then what I had asked for. Would recommend them to anyone who asked, even to those that didn't. They took their time, but where efficient. Kept my floors cleaned and picked up after themselves.

I didn't meet him, one of my rental units met with him.

The representatives arrived on time, checked out and cleaned the fireplace, and made us aware of an potential issue on the roof.

The service was great. They were on time, they did a great job, didn't take time, and they did a great job.We paid an additional amount for the second chimney. We did not have issues afterwards.

They did a great job cleaning - told me of other repairs they can do but did not pressure me to do them now.

There was no issue with scheduling. They seemed to do a decent job. They did the inspection and found a minor problem and suggested a fix.

They came back a few days later and fixed the problem. They also showed me before and after pictures to show what they did. Very good service.

It turned out well. They did make some recommendations for things to change in the future. It was my first time using them. They are very courteous and they are punctual. It is a very nice company to work with. They told me that they were going to contact me after Christmas for an additional service that I need and they haven't yet contacted me. But initially they got back to me on time and that day they were on time.

Clear case of bait and switch. After 15 minutes, they demanded $600 to continue their work -- $300 to “patch” the chimney and $300 to clean the chimney. When asked if they would patch the chimney for $200, originally said yes, then said they would get back to us and they left. After a week of hearing nothing, I contacted Chase. I’m prepared to pay a portion of the $119, but not all of it.

The owner came out to tell me there was an issue with the chimney that needed to be repaired before they could service the chimney. He was very professional.
