The technician did an excellent job in diagnosing the problem with my flue, and recommending the best solution.

I am very happy with the expertise, professionalism, and friendliness of Chimney Tek personnel and recommend them to anyone needing work on the household chimney systems. Two men performed all work quickly and professionally in late September. Due to unseasonably warm weather, I waited more than a month before building a fire. I had a concern about flue draught and Chimney Tek owner, Vince, came to my house the same afternoon I called. He inspected the entire chimney and fireplace insert and reinsured me that everything was working correctly. Next two fires were fine and I expect everything will be warm and cozy for the rest of the winter. Frank Severn, Maryland

I purchased two inspections. One technician arrived at the originally scheduled time, but he was only able to inspect one chimney because he didn't have a tall enough ladder for the taller chimney. Vince came on the second visit. The taller chimney is about 40 feet tall. The ladder they brought didn't reach the top, and there were wasps swarming near the top. Vince explained he couldn't do the inspection, apologized, and offered to refund the charge for that chimney. I received the refund for its inspection within two days. I am disappointed that they were unable to inspect the tall chimney, but they didn't charge me for it and they tried twice. On the first visit the technician reported what appeared to be small cracks in the liner of the shorter chimney. A previous inspector had also reported seeing cracks in it. (I wanted a second opinion). Chimney Tek suggested some options to fix the problem that seemed to be reasonable. (I have not yet decided what to do about the problem.) The only issue I had with Chimney Tek was minor. I had difficulty arranging a time for the follow-up inspection. It was complicated by Vince being out of town for a week, which I learned about later. However, we finally scheduled the follow-up visit and he arrived as scheduled and on time.

The serviceman was prompt, thorough, and professional.

Vince arrived during the appointment window he'd provided with his partner, and went right to work on the chimney. The two worked together to get the whole job done in about half-an-hour.

Rained out for first appointment 10/13- rescheduled for 10/25. Couldn't wait due to time constraint.

I couldn't be happier with the guys from Chimney Tek. Starting with when I got an estimate from Vince, he was completely honest with me as far as what exactly I needed to have repaired. I had an estimate from another company that suggested several things that weren't necessary. The guys who installed the liner were equally great. They explained everything thoroughly, and worked in the rain to get the liner installed quickly. They were polite and careful not to leave a mess, which is important to me! I highly recommend Chimney Tek!! I will use them again for other chimney repairs. A++

The owner has been very nice over the phone. His lead mason was injured on another job which delayed my work, but the owner called to apologize and rescheduled as soon as he had another mason available. This took an extra 1.5 weeks. The men that came were professional and did a nice job. Since I live in a townhouse, we needed permission from my neighbor to place scaffolding on her property. When she showed concern about her roof receiving any damage from their work, they gave her a written guarantee to fix any issues they caused while on the roof and scaffolding. This put her at ease, and the work was done without any problems. I've been happy with the work by this company and would recommend them to others. They also honored their discount coupon available through Angie's List.

We thought that the chimney needed to be cleaned - which was covered by the coupon. Unfortunately the chimney is in need of too much repair rather than cleaning - and cleaning cannot be done at this time.

They completed the inspection special as purchased. The additional work they said was needed was correct but I felt the cost for the repair was to high.

He was argumentative and rude and condescending. We've already spoken with 4 chimney sweeps and 3 stone masons and have researched the topic extensively. He obviously doesn't want the business unless it's an inspection which means I would NEVER trust him. So buyer beware......no free estimates.

After purchasing the Big Deal, I spoke with the provider and set up an appointment that he doesn't recall. He missed the appointment that I thought we had scheduled and then I followed up with him. He doesn't recall setting up the appointment at all. In inquired as to when he was available and was told not until November, which is too far in the future for me as I am getting ready to put my home on the market. I have decided to just move on from this project and have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund of the Big Deal. He was very polite and nice, his availability just didn't match up with ours.

Two Chimney Tek service men arrived punctually; were pleasant and expert. They took measures to protect my interior from dust, soot and ash and vacuumed thoroughly afterward. This is the second time using Chimney Tek and I am quite satisfied with their service.

I have an old house, and I hired them to touch-up or replace some mortar joints in my brick home. They came, worked fast, and got the work done within the amount I paid.

Prompt and professional service.

Vince responded quickly to my many emails. His team arrived on time and completed the work in a professional manner, cleaning up after themselves. When I had a slight problem with the leveling of the stove they came back the very next day.l.

Chimney Tek came to our home. We had spoken with them over the phone and they told us they were familiar with cleaning pellet stoves. When they got here, they had no idea what to do with a pellet stove. They attempted to remove it and couldn't figure it out. They were very professional and the people that came were very professional. I spoke with the owner but it just was not their expertise.

The above 3 steps were completed to satisfaction as far as we know. He also agreed to come & repoint a gap along front brick step with cream mortar. BUT, he never came back even after we called to remind him of the job. He said he forgot & would check his calendar & call us right back. He never returned the call or came back. The steps remain in need of repair. We did not pay for the repointing of the brick walk.

It went fine. Everything was smooth.
