Alpha Plumbing

It went very well. The plumber arrived five minutes early and took about an hour. We'd bought replacement faucets ahead of time (just in case), but he was able to fix all three of the existing faucets.

It was an overall pleasant experience. My hose was leaking. It required a new hose bib, which had to be ordered. In the meantime, Chris soldered the old piping as a temporary fix. Alpha was very accommodating with my schedule, and was able to come out with the new kit first thing the next business day. I definitely would use them again.

Everything went well. The workers were courteous and professional. They did a good job. They would have gotten it done in one day, but it took a little longer. It was my error that it took a day longer. I felt the price was fair. The only complaint is they should have taped off the hazard area out front. I did that myself.

He did a wonderful job. He was out on time and had all the supplies he needed on the truck. If he was confronted with an issue he could come up with a solution no problem. He was highly experienced, knowledgable, and very resourceful.

Waste water had been backing up into my basement due to tree roots invading my old waste pipe. It looked like it would be a tricky repair, because of my back deck being in the way. Alpha Plumbing was extremely responsive, the owner called back later the same day and was able to come out that evening to look at the situation. He and his team were clearly very familiar with situations such as mine, and had already called the city to get information on where the sewer ran. They quickly videoed the line and determined that I had good cast iron pipe up to the edge of the deck. They came up with a plan for excavation that saved my deck and were actually able to do the job the next day. They had to remove my back fence and did a reasonable job putting it back.

The company came on time the day after they were called, and the work was performed professionally and quickly. We were quite happy with the whole process.

I had a very bad experience with a contractor who did a terrible job remodeling a bathroom. I called Alpha when the new toilet started leaking. Chris came out first thing the next morning and showed me how the toilet was the wrong sized rough-in and what size I needed. He also replaced the flange, the other contractor had reused the original, corroded and broken one. Since I would need to purchase the right sized toilet he left everything cleaned and prepped as well as a new wax seal and very complete instructions on how to install the toilet myself. He was a pleasure to work with, very polite and helpful.

They were very good, they were reliable. The price was good and all of the people were very professional. There was nothing I didn't like about them. They were great.

Alpha Plumbing sent Buddy to give me an estimate to resolve a list of plumbing issues that I had. I was told that Buddy would call me at a certain time which he did! He gave me a reasonable estimate and completed the work in less time than he originally thought which saved me money. He was courteous and explained everything that he did. I found Alpha Plumbing on Angie's List. I will call this company again if I have plumbing problems and will certainly refer this company to family and friends.

I sent an email, and a couple of days later they responded to set up an appointment. Two company plumbers arrived on time, and were very professional They quickly performed the work, and made an improvement to help prevent reoccurrence of the break.

I phoned Chuck late in the week and had an appointment set for Tuesday of the following week. Chuck showed up on time and got to work, straight away. He was able to remove the seat (which was badly worn) and had a good supply of replacement parts from which to try to match up to the original. After several trips up and down (2) floors to turn the water main on and off to test a few close matches, he found the perfect part. For me to have done the same would have meant several frustrating trips to the local hardware store -- and I *still* may not have resolved the issue! I am quite pleased with both the service and price (well within my budget) and will happily recommend Alpha to others.

Alpha Plumbing sent someone out the same day that I called. Dan diagnosed the problem almost immediately, and the job was completed in about an hour. He also re-attached a pipe that had become detached from the backup sump pump and advised on a hose bib that will eventually need replacement. He even showed me how to tighten a screw to stop a dripping water valve. I was very impressed and pleased with the level of service.

One week after moving into our new home, my wife and I had sewage backing up through the drain in a basement shower. I tried every home remedy I could, including renting a snake from a home center. Eventually I realized the problem was beyond me and called for help from a professional. Unfortunately, I didn't check Angie's List first. Eventually I did and found Alpha Plumbing (along with a few others). They came, were by far the friendliest most communicative of the folks we called for bids/estimates. The next day they brought in a backhoe and replaced our main line for us. They did an excellent job with the plumbing. My one concern is the hash made of the front yard. While they did replant a small sapling they'd dug up, it needs to be dug up and done again, but hey, they're plumbers, not landscapers, eh? All in all an excellent job. Thank you!

There was a problem with the hot and cold water line. The plumber contacted his boss to see which way would be the best way to repair the lines. The plumber was clean, neat, and polite. He also did a good job. I will call them again.

I had scheduled the repair several days in advance. When the plumber didn't show up at the specified time I called and discovered that there had been a scheduling SNAFU. The owner, Chuck Taylor, came by himself and did an excellent job on the repair. Price was VERY reasonable.

Poorly. Waste of time. Fine if he couldn't make it. But we waited...and waited...really. We have better things to do.

It took the plumber longer than he planned but it was because of the need to replace the disposal. He had a new one on the truck and was able to replace it and completely finish the job. We have had no problems since and now have a garbage disposal that works well. The old one was 12 years old.

Some gotchas that I can't fully blame the plumber for. First, the existing faucet seized, denying a simple washer replacement. Second, the pipe for the line to the outside was inaccessible, underneath a stair landing, necessitating his sawing into the floor of the landing (hidden under carpet). Third, the main shutoff valve, as old as the house, would not fully turn off, meaning that he had to deal with a bit of running water as he tried to make repairs (and had to use a different method to join the new faucet pipe). And, according to the plumber, he was missing some components from his truck, having been taken by another, but not reconciled that morning at the shop (which he said folks were having trouble getting to, owing to the snow the night before). So, he did have to duck out (time stopped and not billed) to pick them up. Otherwise, the representative was courteous, he did his work pretty quick and direct, and did what he could to help clean up afterwards.

This is the fourth time I've called on Alpha for my plumbing needs, and the first that was not something of an emergency. They sent a man the same day I called. He set to work right away and had the whole thing done in under 2 hours. The new installation looks great and answers the need for the few extra inches of floor space the new, wider, machine requires. Couldn't be happier, as has been the case each time I've called on Alpha Plumbing.

They were very prompt on returning my call and the price was in range for the plumbing work I am looking to have done. Everything was fine but I just wanted to contact another plumber.

Good quick call back from company, explained pricing and when they could come to do job. Dan who did the job arrived at stated time, he was very pleasant. We knew the leak was connected to the master bathroom shower, but he had to find exactly where the problem was occurring. He had to cut 3 holes in the drywall to find where the leak was coming from. I was very concerned about this as we have the house on the market and didn't want to have great big holes everywhere. He did a great job making the holes as small as possible and eventually found the source of the leak in the kitchen pantry, a screw from the shelving had been slightly penetrating the pipe behind the drywall. He removed the screw and patched the hole in the pipe.

I called for an estimate and they responded immediately. Chuck walked me through the entire process, explaining costs and what work needed to be done. I was given fair estimates and full explanations. We scheduled an appointment and they arrived on time. The sewer line was dug up and replaced, and while people were working on that, Chuck snaked my bathroom drain, replaced a faucet, and installed a new garbage disposal. Everyone was very professional!!!

Alpha Plumbing was really knowledgeable. It seemed like they wanted the best for me and really valued my opinion. I would surely hire them again in the future because they are a very nice company to work with.

They basically said it would be expensive to do it because of the nature of the clog. They were doubtful that they could do it. My husband rented a snake and ended up doing it himself. We were not pleased with the professionalism of this company at all.

"Okay," I would say overall. The actual plumbing work was done well. I also realized that drywall would need to be cut in order to do the gas work, but there were four large sections of drywall (two of which were two feet tall) that were unnecessarily cut. The other contractors who came in later all agreed the amount of drywall cut was much too excessive. Also, the price was a bit high, given that I've just done the same work (twice) in DC through other contractors was nearly half the price with the others. But as far as courtesy, actual plumbing and timeliness, Alpha did a great job, but I will likely shop around before returning.
