+ -1 moreAfter another company worked on our bathroom toilet, the plumbing exploded the day after Thanksgiving. In a panic, we called Alpha and they came that day. They removed the toilet, fixed the pipes going into the basement, reattached the toilet with the correct seal, inspected the pipes under the bathroom sinks, found more problems and fixed those as well. They were immaculate and very pleasant.

+ -1 moreI called Alpha Plumbing late Friday, and they responded first thing Monday a.m. The plumber, Andrew, replaced about 10 feet of copper pipe, including a new cut-off valve and two "elbow" connections. The work required soldering in an extremely tight work area, in the upstairs ceiling, around a couple joists. Andrew was polite and professional. The job was thoroughly tested afterwards and he cleaned up the mess. This is the second time I have used Alpha Plumbing (they replaced the water lines under my kitchen sink), and I will continue to use them for all of my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: I had a leak in the basement that was coming from the hot water line in the second floor bathroom.

+ -1 moreAfter moving into our new house in Dec. I noticed that the kitchen sink was not draining properly. I called Alpha Plumbing after reading the remarks from Angie's List on Jan. 19. They set up an appointment for Jan. 21. Chris and his helper arrived on time. They worked for 2 hours removing years of grease that had been put down the drain. They were able to clear the line. It was a messy job, but they cleaned up after themselves. Chris stated if the problem persisted I may need to have the it repiped. It has been two weeks and sink is draining. I am pleased with their work and would highly recommend them.

I told the plumber, Please don't tell me I could have fetched that penny out by myself. He laughed and left me feeling better, saying that he had to take the disposal apart. + -1 moreUntil I called Alpha, it was an exercise in frustration. Once I called Alpha, the problem got fixed in a timely manner for a fair price.
Description of Work: We woke up to no hot water. After replacing the water heater ourselves, we still had no hot water. Called Alpha and Chuck Taylor immediately diagnosed the problem as a failed single lever faucet leaking cold water into the hot water line (the water heater was fine all along). Chuck came out and identified which faucet was bad. He shut off the cold water supply to that faucet and we immediately had hot water again. Once we were certain which faucet it was, he came out a second time and replaced the faucet. Since it was the kitchen faucet and since he had to remove the garbage disposal to get at the faucet, and since the disposal was 8 years old anyway, we had him replace that as well.

Very professional; completed all work in good time; good listeners. Excellent experience all around and less expensive than previous estimate by another company. Would definitely recommend and use again.
Description of Work: To correct water pressure in the house: replaced pressure valve reducer; replaced section of 1/2 in. pipe with 3/4 in. pipe (not related to problem); restored faucet configuration on laundry tub from weird rework done by previous owner.

It stopped the leak and even made the faucet work much more easily than it had before. I asked the plumbers (Chris) about some plumbing issues around the house. As he worked on the faucet, he gave me free advice on my hot water heater under the sink, as well as the main hot water heater for the house. He even quickly cleaned up after himself, which I'd never seen a plumber do before. I was pleased and would call Alpha Plumbing again.

The owner was very helpful on the phone, as was the receptionist with whom he connected me to make the appointment. Buddy arrived at the time promised and was charming and professional and had the job done within 45 minutes. They were very thorough and went above and beyond for us. The man was very courteous and did a wonderful job! He really knew what he was doing. It was definitely worth the money. I would absolutely use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

They did not put the blanket on the new water heater that I had on the old one and also left some pieces that they did not use. We had another plumber come out to give an estimate for the work with the toilets, and their estimate was about three times as much as Alpha Plumbing's estimate. The work with the pipe in the basement took a two visits, and they should have brought more tools. However, they came back and finished the job well. They are punctual and responsive. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We have used them a couple of times. They replaced a toilet for us a while ago as well as replacing internal parts on some older toilets. The also fixed a leak in a pipe in our basement more recently.
