Alpha Plumbing

Roto Ropter recommended that I get a new water heater. But, Andrew from Alpha came out and determined that I just needed a new element. It was in a very hard to reach, tight space but he got it done.

The service I received was great. The plumber was very quick to diagnose my toilet clog issue, thanks to my kids, and fix it. He was also explaining the entire process & keeping me informed. Very professional!

I've already posted the following review on the BBB site (and Alpha Plumbing responded to it, see below): Alpha Plumbing came out the morning of Thursday, 3/22/18 to give a free estimate for a sump pump failure problem that had caused water to seep up in our basement. At least that's what I thought. I had to leave for work by the time they got there (half hour late) so I left a note for the plumber as to what the problem was (my wife was at home). While I was still on my way to work, I got a call from my wife saying that the plumber had opened the sump pump well cover and was asking her if he should go ahead and replace the pump. I was really surprised because I thought he had come to give an estimate first, otherwise I would have stayed home. I spoke to the plumber and he said it would cost me $129 if he had to put everything back the way it was (he had to cut some holes in the cover to remove the pipes etc.). He said he could clean out the roots that had jammed the float and replace the pump for $525. So of course at this point it was much more cost effective for me to just get the pump replaced. I had to turn around and come home again so I could monitor and inspect the work he was doing and make sure everything was working. He did the job in under 2 hours and explained everything to me. The work itself and the cost were both good, but the way it was sprung on us was not at all good. I had a couple of other plumbers come and give free estimates for the same job (both higher than Alpha's estimate), and neither of them had needed to cut into the well cover to give me the estimate (they just pried it open enough to see what was inside), so I was expecting an estimate for the work first. This part of it was quite disappointing especially since the business was highly rated here. I would still recommend Alpha Plumbing for their work and price, but make sure you are clear with them about whether they are coming out to give an estimate first or just do the job. Alpha Plumbing responded: Sorry about the confusion on this call. We almost always plan to do the work in just one visit - especially for something like a sump pump that we have a fixed price to replace. Most every time someone calls regarding a sump pump we state during the phone call our price to do the work. It's more cost effective just to do the work as it only takes about an hour to swap out the pump. If this was not communicated clearly, I apologize. I am confident that the work was done well and at a fair price. And my final response on this: Yes I agree, the work was completed well and for a good price, which is why I gave you 4/5 stars. My point is that since other plumbers do indeed provide free estimates, it should be made very clear that your business does NOT do it, and why you don't do it, before you come out. Thanks.

Very professional, showed up on time, worked quickly, cleaned up after themselves. Would hire again.

Service is great and competitively priced.

The crew was great. They replaced my water service line from the county meter to the basement. They replaced about 10 old turn type water values in the basement with new ball type valves. They also rebuilt the hot/cold/select valves in one of my shower/tub combos in the guest bathroom.

Plumber arrived - nice guy. Worked around a dirty area with no problems (tenant occupied property). They installed a customer provided sink-top with no problem. Customer-purchased faucet/drain did not fit, and they provided an alternative for reasonable ($129) price. The good news was that the leak was resolved easily and was not due to tub or pipes, but an older wax toilet ring. Plumber removed toilet and put new ring on, then reinstalled.

It was a week before Christmas when my high water bill arrived in the mail, and "Michelle" of Alpha Plumbing was one of the first people I called. Being such a busy time of the year, they were booked until the next week, but "Michelle" was able to send "Bobby" on Dec 26th. He turned off the water meter outside and then turned off the water main valve inside my home. A check of the water meter on the street outside showed the numbers were spinning on my meter, which meant there was an underground leak. With my daily water consumption of 1,244 gallons, Michelle was aware of the urgency of the work that needed to be done. To her credit, she was able to set up an appointment for the new waterline installation on 1/3/2018. "Matt" and "Josh" arrived at my residence at 9:30 A.M. on Jan 3rd, right on time, and began their work immediately. Matt was in charge of operating the backhoe as he began the excavation of my front lawn, and Josh began the drilling process of the front foundation wall inside my home. It was a bitter cold day, but they were pleasant and quick to get the job done. They used a combination of excavation, pulling cables and missile to install a new line from home to meter pit. After installing and testing the new line, they backfilled excavations and rough graded. (The new water line is guaranteed for ten full years.) After the dirt was backfilled and rough graded back into the excavations, the ground was completely leveled, and it didn't even look like a hole had been dug. As if that wasn't enough, what I liked best was they didn't have to damage any of my driveway or walkways as they tunneled underground. Matt and Josh thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, and at 2:00 P.M. they departed. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I'VE USED ALPHA PLUMBING IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, AND THEY NEVER DISAPPOINT. IT'S NO WONDER THEY HAVE AN OUTSTANDING REPUTATION OF QUALITY WORKMANSHIP!

Alpha Plumbing did an excellent job with the replacement of my water heater. I coordinated the replacement of the water heater tank at the same time that the floor in my condo was being changed. Alpha Plumbing coordinated with the flooring contractor so that the floor could be changed in the area where the water heater was located. They had to come twice- once to remove the tank and the following day to bring the new tank and install it after the floor had been changed. The new tank was installed according to new code and everything looked neat and clean. Very professional.

My husband and I have used Alpha Plumbing several times over the past 3 years and each time, they performed a superior job. We found them on Angie’s List and they were not only very proficient in their work but friendly and courteous. They replaced an electric water heater, repaired valves on 2 commodes and replaced one valve in our shower. They were very focused on doing the jobs thoroughly and we couldn’t have been happier with them. We highly recommend Alpha Plumbing to anyone who requires plumbing services.

From my initial call to Michelle who answered the phone, I knew I found the right company. She did everything to help me get someone over, given my particular emergency. Bobby and Mat were professional, personable and knew what had to be done. There were efficient and completed the job quickly and to my satisfaction. Angie's list and Alpha Plumbing came to my rescue. Will definitely use Alpha Plumbing again.

They were very dishonest. I don't believe they were there for the full amount of time. They originally sent a bill for 89.92 and now are charging me 113.92. I am not paying them a dime. They are now sending me over to collections. I will take this company to court to sue them for legal fees. Michelle was very nice and I don't think it was her fault. I would not use them again in the future.

I called Alpha at 8:30am and Dan was at my house by 9:30am to replace the disposal. That was a huge help since our kitchen sink and dishwasher were going to be unusable until this was resolved (old disposal was leaking from the bottom). Dan installed the new disposal and cleaned out the P-trap and drains. He mentioned how clogged up some of the stuff was and advised how to keep it clean going forward. New disposal works great and dishwasher seems to work better now that its drain is less constricted.

We had obtained a video inspection from another company after the first sign of backup in the line. Once we understood the extent of the situation, we shopped around to find someone to do the extraction. Alphaplumbing gave us an initial estimate based on the video documentation that we had obtained from the other company, and went on to do a detailed video inspection of their own (included with the work). The inspection technician took their time to carefully map out the drain system and worked through a worst case scenario estimate. We agreed over the pricing and provided a reasonable deposit to begin the work. We were able to pay online and recieved a reciept right away with all of the details of work agreed upon in the proposal. On the day of the work was done, we recieved a call in advance from the technician, they arrived in the time window that was originally scheduled and went right to work. The whole job was done in about 5 hours. The technicians cleaned up all of the mess and swept the patio. When we payed the final amount, we were charged for the low end of the estimate since they managed to avoid the worst case scenario. Fantastic work from this company!

The technician, Chris, was great. He arrived on time, finished the installation (which was a bit tricky), and also checked out our water treatment system.

You guys we're absolutely AMAZING!! I really didn't think having a total sewer line replacement was going to be so easy!! You guys showed up within 24 hours of my call for an estimate and less then another 24 hours permits were pulled and my total sewer line was replaced!! Chuck did an excellent job of evaluating my problem, explaining our fix, and giving me a VERY FAIR estimate for my expensive job! You guys went above and beyond and didn't try to overcharge or rip us off. It's Very hard to find a good honest company that does excellent work and doesn't try to take advantage of you in an emergency situation!! I called 3 other common name plumbing companies for an estimate of my job. Two companies tried to charge me $1k-$1,500 more then Alpha Plumbing and the 3rd company said it cost $59 FOR AN ESTIMATE!! Since when does an estimate COST money?? I already knew what the problem was, I have had a large belly in my sewer line for years that along with all the rain created a HUGE sinkhole in my yard (or so I thought that was my only problem) that was trying to take my blacktop driveway down with it! When Chuck came out for the estimate he was very thorough and said he believes something else was going on, along with the belly in my line. The other 2 companies said NOTHING about an additional cause to my sinkhole! Chuck said when they dig to replace the line they will investigate Chuck's hunch on my additional problem. My husband was outside with them while they were doing the work, and Chuck was RIGHT we did have another problem A HUGE ONE! There was a dry well the previous owners blacktopped over in the driveway and it had collapsed. There was a huge 3ft wide X 3ft DEEP hollow space under the driveway and was a true miracle that the blacktop didn't collapse into the hollow space and take the car or one of my children with it! I can't say thank you enough to Chuck and Alpha Plumbing for there thoroughness, honesty, knowledge and quick response! I will definitely recommend Alpha Plumbing to all of my friends and family! (Already gave your number to the neighbor two doors down). Alpha Plumbing is the company you should call in your time of need! I'm so glad I did! Forgot to mention they installed an additional clean out in the front yard free of charge. Cleaned up my yard as much as they possibly could and put grass seed down. And there is a 10 year warranty/guarantee on my new sewer line.

Alpha was wonderful. We had a toilet leak that was noticed on Sunday. We were able to stop the leak by turning off the water and on Monday morning at 8:00 I phoned Alpha Plumbing and by 9:00 I had a plumber at my house and by 10:30 the job was complete. I was thrilled, I will definitely use them again.

It went great! Alpha Plumbing came out within hours of calling them. They were prompt, responsive, and reasonably priced. We will definitely hire them again.

It was fine. They came and did the job. It was fine. I have no reason to give them anything other than an A. They came and did what they said they were going to do. The cost was as priced. I can't, I wasn't there at the time. I know it was done as promised, and on time. I don't have any improvements to offer. I'm not sure if anyone could do it any cheaper. They brought the new device, and they did the installation. There is no complaints about the functionality of what they installed. The occupant didn't complain about them being late. I don't have an complaint. I have no reason to think otherwise. I wasn't present.

Plumber arrived early to replace shower stems that I had prepurchased and to repair a leak. I had bought the wrong stems so he showed what I needed or he would order for me. He did a temporary fix so I could continue to use shower. He also repaired a hot water leak and did outstanding work. Went through everything we would need to get shower repaired at a later date. Strongly recommend Alpha Plumbing.

Fast, efficient, on time, good price, thorough. Made good observations when they first came out to work up an estimate in an installation that was not simple due to local code. Answered all of my questions. Easy to work out a time for the work. Took care to cover carpeted area and to clean up. I have used them before and will use them in the future. Exemplary.

Went great! Called Alpha plumbing mid morning, they verified they could get a new water heater and told me that they would install same day. Bobby showed up when he said, removed the old heater, re plumb the new water heater, and cleaned up all the debris. Alpha is the first and only plumber I call.

The service call resolve all problems.
