Alpha Plumbing

We were surprised by this new requirement communicated through a letter from the county. Another neighbor paid over $220 for the test, and were told it would have to be replaced every 3 years to the tune of approx. $300 by another company. Alpha was very professional in scheduling the appt. quickly. Buddy arrived promptly & was well informed. He did not believe the part would need to be replaced as indicated by the other company, and informed us of how to care for the system for longevity of the equipment. Very pleased with service & will recommend to our neighbor for next year's test, too. We successfully used the $10 coupon available to reduce the cost of the service.

The original tera cotta sewer line was full of roots. Alpha plumbing quickly diagnosed the problem via video inspection (additional cost) and gave an estimate for the job. We opted for the traditional trench (digging) replacement. The crew ran into some unexpected problems with the angle of the pipe. To prevent damage to the trees the owner Chuck Taylor decided to use the pipe bursting method, which saved the trees. they finished what looked to be a nightmare of a job in one day. The crew was courteous and professional.

Company was very responsive to my initial contact and confirming appointment. Service provider was prompt, professional, polite and friendly. Am very satisfied with both the service and the price. I would definitely use this service again.

My sewer main backed up into my basement. I originally used another company to snake the blockage. The other plumber told me that my tree roots had infiltrated the sewer line...I could expect to spend $$$$! I called Alpha to get a comparable estimate. John came out the same day. He suggested we run a camera down the line and find out exactly where the problem was before starting to dig up the yard. He even offered to deduct the price of the video inspection off of the total repair bill. We discovered that the problem wasn't with my pipes line at all, but with the county main. We called the county, and they came out to fix the problem. John saved me from spending several hundreds of dollars in unneeded repairs.

Alpha Plumbing did this job for hundreds less than others estimated it would cost. They noticed that a capped off pipe was in the laundry room floor directly below the laundry sink. He took off the cap and was able to determine that the pipe leads directly to our septic tank. So, all he had to do was add a short length of pipe to route the water to that standing pipe, rather than to the piping that leads outside. He did the work very quickly and efficiently. Another plumber was going to route the water across the laundry room to the drain for the kitchen sink, and pipe the drainage from the water system outside with new tubing, by-passing the old pipes. The first plumber that came to look at it thought the leak was in the line from our well. The estimates from the other two plumbers, Millersville & Heidler Plumbing, were $1000 & over 1650.

Had to replace the diverter and and tub faucet and control knob to shower, but not the shower head. Their work was clean, neat efficient and correct. While there I asked them about a job on the house I live in for an improvement and he was able to anser all my questions. I was unhappy because I had to pay, becasue this should have been covered by AHS. BUT I FOUND A REPUTABLE PLUMBER for future use! Thanks ALPHA PLUMBING I would reccommend Aplha Plumbing!

I call the same day to set up a service call and was able to get it. They told me the service tech would call before arriving and he did and was at my home on time. Very professional in the way he performed the inspection of what I told him was bad. Replace the items in a timely manner and clean up after his work and check every item to make sure they were not leaking. He gave a few tips on what to do to keep the repairs in working condition. Overall I would recommend this company to my neighbors and use them myself also in the future. I put good on the price since this my first time using a plumber.

Initially had Alpha Plumbing out to replace outdoor faucets and install single lever shut-off valves on interior water lines. Buddy did the work. His work is of the highest quality and he is neat an meticulous about cleanup. There was a minor mishap with the shower installation, but Alpha Plumbing and Buddy were consummate professionals and took care of everything to our complete satisfaction. We will definitely call on them again and have referred them to several neighbors (who also had them do work and are completely satisfied).

For the second time in three years the pipe, in my garage, leading to the outside hose burst. Called Alpha in the morning and the problem was resolved by lunchtime. Appreciated that even though it wasn't an immediate priority for us they still made sure to get it taken care of. Additionally, the plumber took the time to secure the pipe and show us how to clear the pipes during the winter to ensure we would not have problems in the future. The previous plumber did not even mention other steps we should have taken. Absolutely would use them again. Thanks!

Great response time, friendly, felt like he was honest and knowledgeable.

Overall, absolutely no problems with the work. Spaces were left clean and all working materials withdrawn. Since the repairs I have had no problems with the sink draining or the drain stopper. While the repairs were minor in nature Alpha Plumbing set a very positive tone and is a company I would first select for future plumbing repair work.

Faucet installation went great. Efficient, friendly, and professional. Price seemed very fair. All in all, a home run. I will definitely be back for more as needs arise.

WONDERFUL FROM START TO FINISH

This is the second big job we have contracted Alpha Plumbing to do for us. Unfortunately we had the dreaded polybutylene piping in our house and the even more dreaded "big blue" polybutylene main going out to the street. About 6 years ago, we contracted Alpha Plumbing to replace "big blue" before it had burst and they did a great job. At the beginning of this month, we had Alpha Plumbing replace all of the polybutylene pipes within our house. They did a very good job and got the whole house done in one day. The quality of their work was outstanding and my wife vouches for their professionalism. Yet another great experience with Alpha Plumbing!

They came immediately which I appreciated a lot. They were here within minutes. Andrew, the technician who came out, did a great job. I also requested that he look at something that needed to redone from the previous work. He readily looked at it and did the work there as well. He is a very neat and I have been very satisfied with their work.

I recommend them! They were very responsive and reasonably-priced.

I live on the 3rd floor in a Condominium and my master bathroom was leaking into my neighbors ceiling below me. The condominium provided a plumbing service that came to fix the problem. They claimed it was the metal drain, located on the wall of the tub, was loose and leaking. They charged $80 to tighten the drain and left - and the leaks continued. Setting up an appointment with Alpha was easy. The day of the appointment they called before leaving and arrived within the agreed time frame. The plumber evaluated both mine and my neighbors bathrooms and assessed it was the pipes leaking. The plumber made the repairs and then had me test the repairs by running both the shower, the regular faucet, and filling the tub and letting it drain - to make sure there were no additional issues. Was able to pay on the spot, and have had no problems since.

I had an appointment with another plumber that I had made 2 weeks before. I couldn't make it any sooner as my schedule at work would not allow me to take any time off prior to that. I took a vacation day the day of the appointment as the scheduled time was "between 8am and noon" and I estimated it was going to take 4 - 6 hours to complete the list. At 1:00 I called to see what was going on and was told, we don't have you on our schedule. After a brief "discussion" I told them no I wasn't going to reschedule with them for sometime next week. I called Alpha Plumbimg. The phone was picked up immediately by Dave. I explained the situation and just wanted to set an appointment with some one I could count on being there when they said. Dave asked what the job was and I told them I have in one bathroom a toilet with very slow flushing, another bathroom that has a toilet that will not completly shut off, a leaking shower head, two sinks with a leaky faucet and in the basement there was an unused powder room where the toilet and vanity had to be replaced to make it usable again. None of this was an emergency or a major plumbing project but just a lot of small stuff I needed done. As this was Thursday afternoon now, I was hoping for an appointment in the coming week. I was told they have a plumber in the area finishing up another job and if I wanted he could come by and see what he could get done then and as it would probably be too late in the day to complete everything we could work out a follow up. I knew asking for an estimate over the phone was a guess at best without seeing the job or what parts would be needed (I had the new toilet and vaniity) Dave explained how most of it would be labor and went down each task giving me his best thought on time for each task. He came up with a total and figured in some cost for parts. It seemed reasonable, but I knew it was just an educated guess on his part and figured another 20 - 30% would be needed. I agreed to have his guy come by and Dave said Gary could probably be there in 30 minutes. He was! Gary walked with me through the house going over the items. The removal of the old vanity and toilet and the install of the new ones we would hold off on and he would start knocking out the other items. One of the toilets is on a lower level below grade and flows into a pit with an ejector pump to get the discharge to the sewer line. He said the slow emptying of the toilet may be a problem with the pump. I knew if that was the issue the estimate is out the window even with my buffer. Gary came back and said no problem with the pump. He was able to get the toilet working. He continued on to the other items getting them done quickly and going from one item on the list to the next. He did hit a stumbling block on the toilet that kept running. It is an old style lowboy toilet and parts are hard to come by and the fill tube had to be replaced. He said he would have to order the parts for that one. After a couple hours he asked when I would like to do the rest of the work. I said as soon as I could be put on the schedule I would make arrangements to be home. He said he could get the parts in the morning and come by after he finished another job he already had setup. He guessed he would be here around 1130. The next day a few minutes after 11 he was here. He said I am going to let you make the decision on something as the cost of the parts he had to order shocked him. If I didn't want to go through with the fix he would return the parts, no problem. Fill tubes are usually under $20. This one was $180. He said the supplier is gouging us as there just isn't that many suppliers of these parts. He did find and checked another supplier and it was the same thing. I appreciated the fact I could have said no I'll replace the toilet but replacing the toilet would be just as expensive and we do have plans to remodel that bathroom in a few years. Dave fixed the toilet and went on to get the old toilet and vanity out of the basement powder room and installed the new vanity and toilet. Gary told me he used one of his wax rings for the toilet as the one they included was cheap and would probaly leak after a while. While Gary was here my kids were able to stop up another toliet on the main level of the house. After augering it out Gary said something doesn't seem right with that toilet. I told him we have had problems with that toilet for a long time now. He took a camera and ran it down the trap. He said he doesn't know what it is but there is something caught in the trap. The only way to get it out would be to take the toilet up and see if you could get to it from the bottom but not sure even then if it could be removed. It would probably be cheaper to replace the toilet. He would try if I wanted to. That toilet is another older one and I will go the replacement route. The amazing thing was even with the cost of the filler tube, Gary knocked the items off so fast the labor hours Dave had guessed at was less then what Gary took, so that more then made up for the extra parts cost. The final cost came in under what we had figured over the phone and way under my 20 - 30 % buffer. If all of that wasn't enough Gary was great. Many timesd we would just be exchanging war stories of raising kids, life, and remodeling plans my wife and I had. Gary would give us things we would have to consider in the plumbing aspect of the plans. He is the kind of guy you feel comfortable around and would enjoy having a beer with! All in all, Alpha plumbing response time was incrediable, the cost was below what I had figured, and they were honest in what did and didn't need to be dealt with or options to think about and both Dave and Gary were great to deal with. I know I now have a plumber when I need one - and be able to trust.

They were great. They came out on time, responsive to my call, and were knowledgeable on what needed to be done.

I found Alpha plumbing on Angie's list several years ago. As I always seem to be running is a million directions I just never got around to writing a review. I have used Alpha's services from toilet issues, to sink installations, garbage disposals, to the water control for the shower. I have always been impressed with their punctuality, professionalism and honesty. Once again I had a need for a plumber and called Alpha and they performed the work as usual very well. I will miss this high level of service when I leave the area. This is a company you can count on for great service.

Alpha handled the permitting and arrived on schedule. The boring went without a hitch and no mess was left behind. The well pump was removed and the well capped. The plumbing connections were neat and professional, the old plumbing and water conditioning systems were removed with care to avoid messes. The work was finished within the estimated time. The work was scheduled to minimize the time that we were without water (several hours).

Alpha plumbing restored my faith in honest business practices. This was a very complex job to find a house odor of unknown origin. Outstanding effort throughout. All technicians were on time, knowledgable, and professional.The pricing was very good and fair throughout. Where ambiguities were noted, tests were repeated without additional cost.
