Chuck arrived on time for the estimate and even helped me troubleshoot an electrical problem not related to the breaker box. The estimate arrived promptly via email. I decided after doing some additional research that I wanted to upgrade the parts. Chuck quickly responded with a revised quote. It was easy to schedule a time for the work to be performed. The gentleman who actually did the work (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) was pleasant, punctual, did the job well, and cleaned up after. FANTASTIC! He was even willing to fix an electrical outlet for a fair price. I was very pleased with the service from Able Electric.

Doug was very knowledgable and capable of explaining the process over the phone. I purchased the equipment from Dominion Electrical Supply in Laurel at a price that beat Home Depot and Lowes. Chuck B was my installer and arrived promptly and got right to work. It took from about 10 AM to 4 PM to complete the work and Chuck did not leave until we had tested the install and was satisfied that the install was to our specifications. I will definitely use them again and am in fact planning to have them install a whole house surge protection system soon. Very professional job all the way around!!!!

Chuck came out to my house on a Friday and assessed the services I requested. He said he would get back to me the following Tuesday with the estimate. During the walk through he kept throwing numbers out like the panel work he said "that could be $1700 by itself". I replied "OK". He asked me if my house was a historic house. I informed him that the house was not designated historic but the community was. He told me he would need a least a week before he could do anything because the permit could take a week. He also told me "He charged $150 for the permit" I asked if that would be included in his estimate or was that something different he said "No it would be included in the estimate". I never heard from him again. NOTHING!! to this day I have nothing from them and had to choose another vendor. He seemed very knowledgeable and gave what seemed like good suggestions but the follow through or lack of follow through is what gave them a D.

Chris of Able Electrical Services showed up on time and ready to work. He quickly troubleshot the incorrect wiring on the homeowner installed switch and was able to restore power to the overhead recessed lighting and outlets as well as make the dimmer function operable. After that, he removed a pair of switches that were installed from a previous interior modification with switches that matched the overall design of the the other switches on that floor of the townhouse. A quick, efficient and thorough job performed on a Monday afternoon. He was prompt, courteous, clean and professional. Great to see in a young service technician!!

Our overall experience with Able Electrical was satisfactory.

Rick did a great job on both occasions... He had to get creative and go above and beyond with one of the ungrounded GFCI outlets as it was sitting loose behind a tiled wall. Price was very reasonable given the number of projects he completed. We have another house we recently purchased and would definitely use them again.

Able came out to diagnose and troubleshoot a problem with a GFI not resetting. Turns out one of the outlets in my 20 year old home had loose connections so electrician reseated all the wires and voila - all the bathroom outlets and outside outlets worked again. Simple fix and diagnosed very quickly. I've used Able previously and was pleased with their prior work so called them again this time to troubleshoot this electrical problem. Outlets not working in all the bathrooms is not something I can live with for very long. Thanks Able.

Originally, I wanted a dedicated circuit for the new sump pump outlet. Chuck gave me an estimate of $289. Russell arrived on time on the day of installation. I told him I don't want him to cut holes in the dry wall if he could help it. He looked at the wiring in the basement and tried unsuccessfully to fish a new line through a dry wall. Then he found that the light in the crawl space is already on a dedicated circuit. He discussed the options with me. Upon my agreement, he used that existing circuit for the new outlet. Since he only took 1.5 hours from start to finish, I felt like $289 was too much. So I called the company and discussed the matter with Doug. It turns out that I used the Angie's List discount wrongly (did not buy it off the website), so he refused to apply any discount but agreed to reduce the price to $230 (2 hours of labor + $30 materials) -- I guess that extra 30 minutes was for traveling??? I promptly received a check with the refund. Considering that they got the job done and was willing to settle my pricing concern, I am willing to give them another try in the future but I will be more careful with their estimates and discounts.

Although there was a miscommunication on time of service, they were flexible and we worked it out. I was happy with the very fast and pleasant service from Russell. I will use them again!

I called and left a message for Able. They called back promply and were able to schedule me for the next week, They were initally scheduled between 8:00-8:30. The tech called at 7:50 am and stated he was running a bit behind and would be there between 9:00-9:15. He called back a bit later later to update me and let me know he was on time. He arrived about 9:05. The tech was friendly and professional and apologized for running late . He allowed me to shadow him in the ettic as h preformed the diagnostics and explained things as he went. It was determined that the motor was burned out ( probably my fault as I had the thermostat set too low). The tec then drove up to Home Depot and found the same unit. After replacing it and adding the switch he reviewed the appropriate temp setting and expalined how to use the switch . As he were he was open to question. I also chatted with him about adding attic fans to another property we own.

Russell arrived ahead of time. He was courteous, professional and knowledgable. i originally called them because the GFCI in the kitchen kept tripping and I was reading 250V on the outlets in both rooms. He found a potential fire hazard in my breaker box where the original contractor never screwed down any of the wires coming into the breaker box. One of the neutrals came loose and was causing intermittent high voltage and then power loss on all of the outlets in my kitchen and dining room. A couple of my smaller appliances were ruined as a result. Russel tightened everything down and then installed two new GFCI's in my kitchen that I had bought. Needless to say, the breaker box had been that way since 1995 when the house was built. We were lucky. Thanks Russel and Able Electric!!! Excellent job!!!

The process of working with Able was painless from beginning to end. Scheduling the appointments was easy and they were quite accommodating. The work was done quickly and the quality was top notch.

Got myself in a pickle and Able Electrical was there the next day (early morning) and fixed my problem (which at least I thought was difficult to diagnose). Professionalism is what immediately came to mind.

They worked me in quickly because I was selling the office and was getting ready to show it soon.

On a Saturday afternoon, I accidently drove a screw through the wire leading to a receptacle in my kitchen. I have only lived in my home for two months, so I am not at all familiar with the area. I checked Angie’s List, and found Able Electric. I called and spoke to the owner, Doug. He said he’d contact his technician and would call me back to let me know what time the tech would be at my home to make the repair. Doug phoned back quickly and said his tech couldn’t make it, so Doug said he would come instead. He arrived on time and was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He advised he couldn’t do a permanent repair, but would do a temporary fix so I’d have power restored to the kitchen. Doug made the repair and cleaned everything up cleaner than it had been before. The tech would come at a time convenient for me, and he’d make the permanent repair. We decided to install a new receptacle at the location of the damage. I made an appointment for the following week, and the tech, Russell arrived right on time. He was neat, professional, courteous and friendly. He quickly made the necessary repairs, installed a new receptacle, reconnected the one I’d damaged, and cleaned up. I am very pleased with the service, the repair, and the price; I will definitely call Able Electric to take care of all my electrical needs in the future. I would highly recommend Able Electric to anyone in need of an honest, dependable, professional company! I would have rated them A+++ if the rating system went that high!

I liked that he was very thorough and personable. I liked him a lot. He took care of everything. It took him quite a while to do the job. I would use him in the future. I thought he was good.

The owner Doug and one of his crew (Chuck) came out to my house to look a the project. They were both very nice and experienced. I interviewed 4 companies for this work. Able came back with about the same pricing as 3 other companies. I had a hard decision to make but I did select a different company to do the work only because a friend of mine had a personal experience with the other company and is no reflection on Able! I would definitley use Able in the future and they are great folks.

Everything went great and easier than I expected.

I submitted a request for a price quote on-line after hours 2/2. Early the following morning, the company president, Douglas Jenkins, contacted me by phone. He scheduled my fixture installation for the following Wednesday, 2/8. He quoted me a price range of $175 to $225 to replace the fixture. Two technicians were required because of the height of the ceiling. They arrived on time and were very courteous. They placed drop cloths, took the old fixture with them as well as the packing materials from the new fixture. It was a pleasure doing business with this company.

I called Able Electrical for an estimate and was immediately impressed by the customer service on the phone. Brian arrived the same day that I called Able Electrical and was able to fix our problem and more. He was courteous, informative and efficient. We will definitely use Able Electric in the future and would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

The quality of the work stood out. They had a discount coupon on the website and they said that it was figured in the estimate they gave me and that it would show up on the completed invoice. They never mailed me the completed invoice. The price was reasonable.
