Yesterday Russel was out and the ceiling fan light seemed to work so he didn't have anything to repair. I didn't want to fix something that wasn't broken, but felt uneasy since it hadn't worked previously, so he left me his cell number and said to feel free to call him if it stopped working again. Well, it stopped working a few hours later. I texted Russel on SATURDAY morning and he arrived within an hour even though I didn't have a scheduled appt. In 15 minutes he'd taken a part from the light kit I'd purchased and fixed my fan light, and even washed out the globe before putting it back on. To top it off, he didn't charge me for the 2nd service call or retract the discount they had given me yesterday for the service trip. Amazing! Russel speaks highly of his boss and I can understand why when I see how his employees function. Able will definitely be my go-to electricians now. Highly recommended!

Light on ceiling fan had worked intermittently for months and then stopped working. Russel arrived a bit later than I was expecting but went right to work. He removed the bulb, pulled the metal electrical contact tab down inside the light socket, replaced the bulb, and the light worked again. I felt rather silly but was very glad I could return the new fan and light kit I'd purchased. I was afraid I would be stuck paying the full service call fee for the 2 minute fix, but his boss was very nice and cut the price in half. An expensive lesson for me, but I understand the need to cover transportation and time. They were very accommodating and I would use them again.

Eric arrived on time and provided very professional and courteous work. My wife and I would definitely recommend this company to others in need of electrical work.

My rental property had an electrical issue that was causing the water heater to not work. Our renters were very impatient. I called Able Electric and the nice receptionist assured me someone within 4 hrs. Within an hour, the electrician had called me and was on his way. He called me to recap immediately after the work was completed and I was billed via email a couple weeks later at a very reasonable price. Great experience all around.

Doug from Able was great. He shared a couple of suggestions with me first (which I told the tenants to try). And he scheduled an appoint for the next day. He contacted the tenants, arrived, and found that the issue was a loose electrical wire that became ungrounded and was tripping the breaker. He identified and fixed the issue right away, and charged us the basic service call fee of $120. Honest and reliable, I would recommend and use them again.

While preparing my late mother's house for sale, we found a burnt outlet that the handyman felt should be addressed by a professional electrician. Because it was found on a Saturday night and I needed to get the wall repaired for the painter's arrival on Monday, I decided to go ahead and pay the premium for emergency weekend service. Able was great! They were very responsive to my Sunday morning call and the price was reasonable. The electrician arrived promptly and completed the work efficiently. Another company I called charged less per hour but added an extra hour for travel time. The third company never responded to the message I left although they advertised emergency service. I would certainly use Able Electrical Services again.

He claimed there was never an inspection, and he would open his inspection. He decided to charge me more, and I later found out from the city that I had already passed the initial inspection.

'We had a short in receptacles in several bedrooms. I needed an electrician to troubleshoot. I tried all items I knew. Able was very friendly and promptly offered some advice on the phone. They held an early appointment for me and I called back once I tried all their suggestions. Their man arrived early on the day promised and quickly ran down the problem. He also checked several other items and tightened all the electrical connections in both of my breaker boxes. The problem was a loose wire, so he checked all the wires. We were very pleased and will use them again. The owner's mother answers the phone and works the office and she is a gem. She knows her stuff too. We are very happy and will, and have already, recommended them. Thanks Able Electric!

ABLE ELECTRIC handled all the electric work on a major kitchen/dining room and living room remodel. The project required 3 visits to the home and DETAILED coordination with our kitchen re-modeler. ABLE ELECTRIC was always on time, when scheduled and came ready to do the job. I had detailed electric plans and specifications prepared before selecting an electrician. ABLE ELECTRIC was very professional and did a great job. Every big job has problems, its how ABLE handled the problems that stand out. Every problem was immediately and fully addressed. When an extra came up, the cost negotiation was completely cooperative. Service items include electric demolition; rewiring outlets & switches; installing can lights in ceiling; removing/relocating ceiling junction boxes; installing ceiling fan, chandelier, pendant lights; installing instant hot water; rewiring plug for electric stove. I recommend ABLE ELECTRIC & Doug Jenkins.

I am a new customer to Able Electric. The first surprise was when the electrician tried to resolve the problem over the phone which was greatly appreciated. When the phone efforts were to no avail, an appointment was made for the following day. The problem was resolved quickly and efficiently. The second surprise was the phone call I received the day after the service was performed. I was told that I was charged too much and "Would you like the check returned for replacement or would you like to have the monies applied to your next bill?" What a shock! We chose the former and sure enough, the check was sent and we replaced it the same day. In this day and age one hopes at the very minimum to just get what they pay for. Surprisingly, we got much more.

I dropped the key off at the office, because I was going to be out of town. I just had the place painted and was scared of having drywall torn up. Electrician promised to be as clean and careful as possible. Electrician went to the house, diagnosed the problem, fixed the problem, and called to follow up.

Prior to purchasing my Baltimore rowhome in January 2013 I'd had Doug Jenkins, the owner, come out to do an electrical inspection. He was very thorough and documented all the visible issues that were not to code. Some of these were resolved by the seller but I brought in Able to take care of the rest after my closing date. The work that was needed was to upgrade and relocate the electrical panel as well as to relocate the service entry point, coordinating with BGE and the city for needed inspections. Rick Brewer was the electrician who did this work and was fantastic to work with--very professional, extremely congenial, always on time. As my project (see below) ballooned into something much larger than initially expected, Rick would often stay late (into the evening) and even come in on weekends to keep my work going forward while attending to his other jobs. As Rick began the task of tracing various wires from their origination point to the new panel box location, he pulled down some drywall and discovered that the electrical wiring for my kitchen, bathroom, and finished basement was a tangled nightmare of a mess. Outlets and fixtures were mis-wired, wires led into hidden junction boxes behind the walls and ceilings in a disorganized fashion. Those junction boxes were dangerous fire hazards and also made it nearly impossible to trace which outlets/fixtures were controlled by which circuit breakers. Over the course of the next 2 months, Rick patiently removed each and every junction box, figured out the mindbending puzzle of which wires controlled which outlets/fixtures, and routed them safely to the new panel box. I can't emphasize enough how complicated this process was, and how dangerous it would have been had Rick not discovered this. What started as a few simple upgrades ended up in a virtual total rewiring of my kitchen, bathroom, and part of my finished basement. Once that work was done, Rick checked all the other outlets in the remaining rooms of my home, installed 3 ceiling fans, relocated a light switch in a bedroom, added an outlet in my kitchen for a new range, and did a number of other smaller tasks. I also had Rick come back out a few months later to check one of the few outlets that was not rewired. I completely trust Rick and Able Electrical and plan to call them for every electrical issue I might have in the future. Relocating the service entry point also turned out to be more complicated than expected to meet code. Doug Jenkins (the owner) spoke with the city and BGE, figured out a creative solution that met the code, and got the permits for the work. I had a carpenter install a 2-story post off my rear deck and Rick then ran the service cable and coordinated with BGE to get the service connected. As my smallish project (initially estimated around 5000) turned into an enormous undertaking, Rick and Doug were very good about recommending ways to keep the cost of this unexpected work under control. We also were challenged by the fact that Able was very busy and had not planned for Rick to spend so much time on my house---he had other jobs to do. Doug Jenkins was great at figuring out ways to contain costs and to free Rick up as much as he could to work on my house. Doug really worked with me to make sure everything was done correctly, in a timely manner and as efficiently as possible. He was very proactive about communicating with me, which I really appreciated. Both Doug and Rick are true professionals and now that I've lived in my house for 6 months I can say I'm really happy with the work that was done. I feel fortunate that the electrical issues in my house were discovered before I moved in and taken care of by such a competent, conscientious, and professional company. They really went above and beyond to get the job done right, and Rick was a real pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ABLE ELECTRICAL!!!!

Went great. The staff sent to do the install were friendly, professional and clean. They took great care of my house and explained everything they were going to do before hand. They showed up on time and the scheduler was very good about calling to tell me when to expect them.

Everything went well. They started out by running a new ground wire from the panel to the cold water pipe where the latter entered the house; this is now required according to electrical code. The provider also provided a ground between the cold water and hot water pipes at the hot water heater and to the gas line. Following this, he removed the old electrical panel, installed the new one with a surge protector, installed an electrical socket near the new panel, installed the electrical transfer switch, and the outlet for the electrical transfer switch. He started at 8am, turned off the power at 9am to the whole house (as he did the ground wire work first), and was able to turn the house back on at 1pm (and then wire up the transfer switch.

I have used Able twice, and could not have been happier. It was easy to make an appointment, they came out on time, the price was good, and they (Eric) did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them.

He was terrific! He was able to detect the problems and concerns I had with the outlets. He told me what was wrong with them. He was quick, professional and he came on time for the appointment.

Russell came in and talked to me about which circuits to put on the transfer panel. He had recommendations that were helpful. He then installed the panel and put the outdoor connection where I asked. The installation went quickly. He then showed me how to connect the cord to the generator. We started the generator and then went inside and he talked me through operating the panel properly. It was very professional and did not take more than about 3 hours altogether.

I really like the fact that they had me try several things over the phone first to try to save the expense of a visit if it could be an easy fix. They had to come in person and quickly determined that the remote part in-bedded in the fan had gone bad. He gave me a couple of options to make the fix less expensive, but I wanted to stick with the remote. He got the parts and fixed it perfectly. Would definitely call again with any electrical concerns.

The service was excellent from the first call to the office through completion of the job. Eric, the electrition, was prompt, professional and very knowledgable. He explained what needed to be done in order to get my pool electric working as well as making the electrc safe. I will definitely be using Able Electric for all of my electrical needs.

They arrived on time and did the work in a professional manner. They coordinated the required code onspection by the county as well as BGE who had to come connect wiring to meter. My only dissatisfaction was on my initial call to inquire about the work and get cost estimate, he did it all by phone instead of coming in person to see what was needed. This resulted in a delay in having the work done, because on the day it was scheduled the technician came and saw the work was not quite as described. He did not have all materials he needed, so had to come the next day. Luckily I had taken off work for more than one day, otherwise I'd have been quite unhappy with the delay. Otherwise I was pleased with this company. Lesson learned: Always insist on an in person estimate for a job.
