Amazing, amazing, amazing! Y’all it’s 1:30 in the morning and I locked my keys inside of my car. There were just sitting in the passenger seat under one of the Christmas presents I bought. I could literally see the keys but couldn’t get to them. I called 3 other companies who were supposedly 24 hour locksmiths but they weren’t able to send someone out until 8am. But then I called Locksmith on duty. They answered quickly and someone came out to my location in less than 20 minutes. They verified my identify, popped that lock and I was good to go. And on top of that it was only $95. Other places always try to get over on you with this fee and that hidden fee. But Alex was straight forward about their pricing. I hope I don’t find myself in a situation where I have to call them again lol. But if you lock yourself out of your vehicle and need some help quickly, no matter the time, call Locksmith On Duty. They’re be there ready to serve you and at a reasonable price. 😌 Goodnight y’all.

The man came on schedule, changed the locks on 2 doors, and keyed them to match the existing lock on a third door. He also charged extra for work to make the new locks fit the doors, and left a real mess for me to clean up.

I had a front door lock that broke in the closed position that I then made worse trying to remove on my own. Called Locksmith on Demand on a Saturday afternoon, they were out within the hour and took care of everything in about 45 minutes. Price was very fair, service was great. Highly recommended.

Alex did a great job.He was professional, worked efficiently and then instructed me on how the digital codes worked by demonstrating the process. He double checked to make sure my code worked and that the door lined up correctly. He also fixed latch on my other lock that was broken off. He was very knowledgeable.

I bought a new door handle and a deadbolt from an online DIY site, but never had the courage to install it myself. Seemed like it might be too easy to screw up and sacrifice security. After a year of looking at the box, I finally got on Angie’s List to find a locksmith to do it properly. Within minutes of submitting my need, Locksmith on Duty contacted me. They had availability same-day and they provided a reasonable (I thought) price - $25 travel + $69 to install the hardware. The locksmith, Alex, called me 30 minutes before he arrived to verify the appointment at to let me know he was en route. He arrived promptly when he said he would, and he quickly installed the handle and lock. His work was quick, efficient and of high quality. Before he left, he walked through the lock’s operation with my wife and I to make sure we knew how to lock and unlock both locks without locking ourselves out. I really appreciated the extra few minutes he spent with us to explain the features of hardware he didn’t even provide. I was very satisfied with my experience with Locksmith on Duty. I would not hesitate to use them again myself, or to recommend them to others. Bravo, Alex!

Locksmith On Duty is the BEST !!! Locksmith Service in the Baltimore, MD area and as far as I am concerned they do NOT have any competition at all to worry about after ALL of the calls that I made BEFORE I called this GREAT Company !!!!
Description of Work: I called Locksmith On Duty and I spoke to ( Mark ) and I asked him how I could get my brother and his wife a new lock put on their front door since I lived in Richmond, Va and ( Mark ) asked me when did I want this done and I said as soon as possible could this be done between 9:00 and 10:00 AM yesterday morning and he said YES so I then hired Locksmith On Duty to install a front door lock for my brother and his wife and my brother does NOT give compliments freely but he told me that he was S - - O PLEASED with ( Alex ) and told me that he did a G-R-E-A-T job when he was sent out to install this lock. I was also IMPRESSED to find that these ( 2 ) men are all about giving their customers only GREAT,OUTSTANDING, Customer Service after I had called at least ( 6 ) other Locksmiths that told me it would be next week before they could do this for my brother and his wife ????? I will only hire THIS Company in the future to put my brother and his wife's locks on because they are the B-E-S-T !!!! I just WISH they were in Richmond, Va because if they were I would hire them also for my locks !!!! Locksmith On Duty YOUR the BEST in Baltimore, MD !!!!!!

Art called ahead to let us know that he was going to be about thirty minutes later than our scheduled appointment. He showed up exactly when he said he was and toured our house both inside out and out to get the full picture of our unusual arrangement. Our new house had an office with a separate door, an in-law suite with a separate door, and a downstairs apartment with a separate door. Each had deadbolts and door knobs. Art said he was usually called in on commercial jobs, so the complexity of our multi-door, multi-lock, missing keys scenario was no big deal. Art went through and methodically began rekeying each of the doors. I could only find some of them, so I called my wife to bring her full set. After he had done all he could, he went back to his warehouse to get a few more parts he needed for some of the older, more specialized deadbolts. When my wife arrived with the backdoor and front door keys, he finished those off quickly even taking time to drill new holes in the glass paneled rear door to add deadbolt. One of the doors had its lock installed upside down, which made it awkward to open. Art was able to switch it rightside up quickly and easily. The locks all worked flawlessly and were very smooth to open and close. Locksmith on Duty is a family owned and operated company. The are a terrific small business that I would highly recommend. We may have a keyless front door lock in our future, and we will reach out to Art again if we do.

Alex came within the hour to our White Marsh location and gave us an estimate. Being new to the cost of commercial work we called around to get other quotes and had one other locksmith come and look at our situation and give an estimate. It is unbelievable the range of estimates. Alex's estimate was the lowest. $150/door was the average and did not include labor in one case. The most expensive was $250/door. All locksmiths called came from Angie's list. Alex was there over 2-3 hours and was very professional, courteous and willing to solve another problem for us that came up.

It was nice. I was able to send them text messages like with the pictures of my lock so they knew exactly what they need to do and what they need to bring because my lock isn't a normal dead bolt, it was a vertical dead bolt. I did a little research about it and they're not as easy to come by so for sure if they just came out then they might not have been prepared. I pictured the lock and sent it to them so he actually went to the warehouse to make sure he had the lock before he came and it was nice. He would say, "I would get back to you," in like an hour and then he would actually be back after 2 hours.
Description of Work: I've used them. It was $60 for them to come out and then the key so it was about $140.

We went to go out the front door and the front door would not open. We called Locksmith on Duty on Friday evening and within 25 minutes Mr Popov was at my home. The lock on my door had completely broken which is why my door would not open. Mr Popov had to come in my back door after walking through my yard to gain access to my home, he immediately removed his shoes as not to track dirt through my home. He diagnosed the problem within minutes and worked to correct it. He was pleasant and professional. The bill was reasonable given that this was a Friday evening. Within one hour my door lock was fixed. We would use Locksmith on Duty again without hesitation.

What an amazing locksmith. He's the one I have been waiting for! I was locked out this morning with my two dogs. The first locksmith to answer my call was horrible, and I asked him to leave. I called Alex and asked him if he could change my locks. I have gotten locked out twice now and wanted to rekey the house to one key. I had three doors, and added in another one to install a lock. I had a deadbolt put on the door. There was an antique lock in the front door, and regular locks in the rest. He installed a new door handle to the garage as well as the new deadbolt to the side door. This wasn't an easy job because of all the variety of the problems I have. I was completely blown away with Alex's knowledge. He fixed an antique lock on my bathroom that hasn't worked since we moved in three years ago. It was a really complicated fix, and he was able to figure out what was going on. He worked really hard and found the solution, and was able to tell me what had happened. For the first time since I moved in, I can shut the door, AND the handle turns. WOW!
Description of Work: Replaced the locking mechanisms in all my house doors including the garage. Installed a deadbolt. Fixed a strike plate problem with a deadbolt we had never used. And fixed the bathroom door that has been the bane of my existence since I moved in two years ago!

They were prompt answering the phone and came to my house quickly. He was unable to fix the broken knob, so he ran out to Lowe's to purchase a new door knob. Overall, the service was quick, polite, and professional. The charge for the service is what I would expect for the new door knob and the service provided. I would recommend Locksmith On Duty and will use them again in the future.

Up at 4:55am, fumbled around in the dark to dress and left the house for a 530 run and realized that I had picked up the wrong set of keys. No car key and No house key. I was locked out holding my cellphone, wallet, and a set of keys to unlock the shed in the backyard (we wont speak of the previous nights failed attempt to mow the lawn!). I call a friend who I know is an earlier riser...why I didn't reach out to someone in my running group is beyond me...and ask if her hubby will lend me her really tall ladder. While we are in the dead of summer, I'm not a fan of AC and tend to sleep with the windows open and ceiling fan on full blast. Therefore, the doors are all locked but the bedroom window is open...there is HOPE!! However, her hubby had been out late the night before and she didn't want to wake him. Plan A was out, so on to Plan B! Locksmith anyone?!?! If your anything like me you love those investigative reporter shows where businesses are caught on camera swindling unsuspecting customers...meaning you just saw the piece on mobile locksmiths and are leery of whats available at 5:30am!! If you havent google it or watch it on youtube. Anyway, I pull out my trusty SMART phone and google locksmiths in my area. Most are mobile, i.e. you are calling someones residence/cellphone and they are answering with a simple and quot;Helloand quot; and if you ask the name of their business you get nothing OR you get a locksmith service dispatch center which tells you that there is a minimum $25 service fee then at least $35 to change the lock. Sounds sorta legit but I've been there done that when a locksmith showed up and insisted that I had a special kind of lock (I don't, its a normal doorknob lock) and that I had a nice car so there was no reason why I shouldn't be able to pay him $120 to unlock the door despite being quoted $35. After about an hr of calling around (and calling my local police dept to see if they had a referal...it was very early, raining, and the only thing that I can do well that early in the morning is run) I decide to JOIN angie's list to find a reputable locksmith in my area. There were 2: Easterns who provided a quote of $95 and a wait time of 2-2.5hrs and Locksmith on Duty who provided a quote of $65 and an arrival time of 20-25mins. Being that they both received an A rating on Angie's List, I chose the quicker, less exspensive option. The tech arrives in less than 30 minutes. Perfect!! But it was all downhill from there... I notice that there is no logo on the truck (but there is a ladder); one of the things that you should check for according to the investigative piece on mobile locksmiths. But he had tools and seemed prepared to and quot;workand quot;. He removed his locksmith kit from his tool bucket which also included screw drivers, a large plastic looking door wedge, and an inflatable blatter (its essentially a blood pressure sleeve that the nurses use in the drs office). After 10 minutes of attempting to pick the lock the locksmith ask if there is any other door that he can try...there are but those locks are a lot more complicated...this one is a simple door knob lock and because I didn't have my key the deadbolt was not locked...all other doors are double locked. Why pick 2 locks when this one will do? I'm perplexed, but we press on. He has now put down the lock pick kit and has moved on to using the screw driver, door wedge, and inflatable blatter to create a mm (so he says) of space in the door jam. Why he wants to move the lock away from the door jam is beyond me because according to wiki how the pin-and-tumbler lock doesn't require creating more space. I am even more perplexed and afraid that he is going to break the door, so at 20 minutes into the job I ask if he wants to try using the ladder to go through the bedroom window. Note: I've been locked out before. Once I was able to use a ladder, in the other instance I called a locksmith (who has since moved on) and it took him all of 5 minutes. Which is why being at the 20 minute mark and applying pressure tools is making me apprehensive about continuing in this direction. In response to my request to use the ladder he turns to me with an attitude and ask and quot; Why didn't you suggest that sooner?and quot; Seriously??? Probably because your a LOCKsmith and I'm expecting you to unlock the door!!! He sets the ladder up and goes back to working the door with the torture tools while I climb the ladder to open the window screen. Something is wrong with this picture. Unfortunately, I am unable to unlock the screen after 5 minutes and ask the locksmith if he would mind climbing the ladder. He climbs the ladder, slides the screen up and comes down to allow me to climb through the window. Once in my home I retrieve me keys, open the front door and realize that it swings open easier than usually. I ask if he has caused any damage to the door and he says NO. I explain that the door is swinging open easier than usual and that something appears to be off. He insist that he has done no damage, requested his pay in the driveway and drove off. I locked my door, hop in my car and head to home depot to have several spare keys made. While there I shared my experience with the in-store locksmith (Dr. Phil) and he said that I had basically paid the guy $65 to hold the ladder...and he was correct!! Upon my return home with spare keys in hand to be distributed I noticed that not only was the door looser or swinging open more easily but my alarm keypad was beeping every minute indicating that the front door sensor was misaligned. I called the locksmith to return to look at the door and he insisted that I call ADT event hough there was no prior issue with the alarm until he and quot;fixedand quot; my door that morning. He agreed to return at 5pm and arrived close to 5:30. He looked at the door and insisted that he had done no harm despite the insistent beeping of the alarm keypad. following a very LOUD discussion where he told me that the door had shifted due to heat and it was like that before he showed up (both lies), he said that he would tighten the door hinges (pointless). He then called a friend of his at ADT who said that I should reset the alarm and change the battery. Great fix for a misaligned door...NOT!!! When I asked if he was willing to provide a partial refund, seeing as how he caused more harm than good he laughed at me and said that he should bill me for the fact that he traveled to my house twice that day 25 minutes each way, and that he had been at my house longer than expected this morning. Is he serious?? He was there longer than expected because he obviously cant pick a lock AND he had to return that evening because the pressure tool/door jam/ screw driver combination messed up my front door. He also added that he should not have come out that morning and I think that we agreed on that. It probably was the only honest thing that he said all day. In a nutshell, beware Locksmith on Duty!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!! I am disappointed in the lack of service provide and the accompanying nasty attitude. If your reading this: Invest in a really tall ladder and a couple of spare keys that you can stash with trust worthy friends! PS: I joined Angie's list to avoid exactly what happened today. Bummer!
Description of Work: Hired locksmith on duty to come out and unlock my front door. Locksmith unable to pick the lock. I ended up paying him $65 to hold a ladder while I climb through a window. In response to the question, the Locksmith held a ladder for 5 minutes and made $65. What a ripoff!
