Ordered and replaced large windows in front of house. Job went as expected, both on time and on budget.? Good quality materials and workmanship. This contractor was willing to take care of small jobs at same time, when other contractors wouldn't touch the small jobs.

Job went very well. Tearing out the old windows was a job since they were original to the house and extended under the house siding. Even with all this there was only one very small nick on one window sill. Other than that there was no evidence that new windows had been installed. No paint touch-up, other than the one small nick, was needed. Windows themselves are excellent, providing increased insulation from heat/cold and noise. French door was not inexpensive but well work the cost: Well constructed, solid and the bonus of both sides swinging open to create one large opening to our screened-in deck. Clean-up was excellent. Again, no evidence new windows were installed.

James Gay, Owner of Chesapeake Window and Remodeling, Inc., arrived promptly for the estimate interview and wrote a detailed proposal for a reasonable price. After collecting a few other proposals, we asked him to perform the work. He told us when to expect to see him again with the windows. He arrived on schedule and he and his assistant completed the work in one day, as promised. Their work was carefully performed, they were courteous and they cleaned up afterwards. We recommend Chesapeake Window and Remodeling, Inc. without reservation.

From the beginning of the project to the end James Gay conducted himself in a professional manner. He worked to get us the best price possible. He was not a high pressure salesman. He also does the work himself with his brother. The work was completed when he said it would be. They cleaned everything up afterward and took the time to show us how to operate all the functions of the windows. I would definitely recommend Chesapeake Windows for anyone's replacement window job.

James Gay (the owner) provided the estimate and did the work. We have used James in the past and have been equally pleased with his service. He came out to us very quickly since our house had been burglarized and we needed to replace the kitchen window. We decided to replace 2 old windows upstairs as well. James never makes you feel rushed - he takes his time and takes accurate measurements of each window (even if they look the same). He has samples with him and goes over everything with you. He ordered the windows very quickly for us (actually on the way to his next job) and they actually came in within a week. He called as soon as they came in and fit us into his schedule the next day knowing we were anxious to replace the burglarized window. The windows are fantastic and were installed beautifully. He always wraps the outer part so that you don't have to paint. He even wrapped the wood outside our sliding glass door that was pealing miserably - this was a last minute thing I asked if he could do and he was very obliging. We would so use James again. He is responsive and wonderful to deal with. He and his brother do all the work so there are no outside contractors - you deal with him and him alone. Best of all - he treats you with respect. I have had some contractors get angry if my husband is not home to talk with them as well. Since I do much of the hiring, this is highly insulting. James respects your intelligence and has no problem explaining things in as much detail as you need.

Everything went as planned.They showed up on time,did the work,explained the product,made sure and cleaned up after themselves. I'm glad I used Angie's List to find and use them!!

He measured the windows, showed his product, and provided his quote. There were no gimmicks or hard sales techniques used. His quote was very reasonable. Delivery and installation of the windows were right on schedule. James was a professional from start to finish.

I was encouraged from the very beginning by James G**'s professionalism and salesmanship. He was the only person out of the five or so I got estimates from that didn't employ hard-sell techniques or take up hours of my time with window samples and heat lamp demonstrations. His estimate was the lowest of all that I received. Windows were ordered and installed within 2-3 weeks of estimate (other companies gave me a 5-6 week estimate). James G** installed windows himself with the help of one assistant and finished the work in one day, cleaning up in such a fashion that I couldn't even tell that anyone had been in the house, except the fact that I had brand new beautiful windows that have done a great job of keeping the heat in and the cold out.

They responded quickly and were professional. I was real pleased with them. I was able to save a lot in my electricity bills after the windows were put in. The quality of the windows was very good. They completed the job in one day and they worked very hard. They also replaced my front and back doors. Their price was competitive. I would use them again in future.

James came out and measured the windows and wrote up the contract and about 4 weeks later called and said that my windows had arrived. We arranged for a date to have them installed, and James and his worker showed up on time and installed the windows. They cleaned the work areas and explained how the windows worked. I will tell anyone who is looking to purchase windows about Chesapeake Windows.

James Gay & 1 assistant removed & replaced all the windows in just under 2 days. They worked on just a couple windows at a time. I have seen projects where all old windows were removed completely before any new windows were installed. I like James Gay's approach much better. There was no damage whatsoever to existing interior window moldings. Interior & exterior both look great.

Our current vinyl replacement windows (14 of them) were 30 years old and in bad shape. We procrastinated for 15 years. Finally got estimates from another window company ($15,000, but nice) and a home improvement store (about $8000). Then followed a recommendation from Angie's List. James stopped by, gave an accurate estimate, explained it all, and set a date. He made the date, he and his partner just knocked it out in 7 hours. New windows in, old windows gone. Looked great. Then they spent some time making sure we understood all the features and little things about the windows and screens. They left as friends.

James was a pleasure to deal with--prompt and professional (with both the estimate and the actual installation), and also very personable. He has a delightful appreciation for old houses (mine was built in 1899) and seems to enjoy the challenges that they present.

This company is great! They were able to install my windows within two weeks of the order. They worked with me to meet my scheduling needs. The day I chose turned out to be very cold. The installers were very considerate about not leaving too much of the house open at one time so I never was cold and my heat didn't work overtime. They worked very hard and completed the installation in about 7 hours. They cleaned up all debris and even took away all my extra storm windows and screens. The windows seem fine. I have much more insulation and sound-proofing than previously. The owner promised to treat my house as his own and that is what they did. They were very easy to work with. Their price was also the best estimate I got! I would highly recommend this company.

After contract signed, took approximately 1 week for windows to come in from manufacturer. Work scheduled according to my convenience. Took a little less than 2 days for James & one other worker to complete the job. Removed & replaced a few windows at a time (unlike another contractor's job I saw where all windows were removed simultaneously, leaving an entire house wide open to weather and bugs). In general, contractor was very pleasant, personable & informative. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

We searched and interviewed several window people. He was 1/2 the price of Sears. I didn't feel like I was being pitched by a high power salesman. He did a nice job, and we are happy. He is really a nice guy, cleans up after and took old windows.

The owner of the company "James Gay" gave the estimate for the work at my home. Unlike other contractors that gave estimates, there was no high pressure to sign the contract the same day and the price was extremely reasonable. An estimate from another contractor was three times higher. The work was completed in two days and I am very pleased with the quality of the windows. All work was completed by James and a helper and all debris was removed by them.

THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY. I THINK IT IS THE NUMBER ONE COMPANY IN THE TOWN. THERE IS NO COMPANY THAT CAN BEAT THE PRICE OR THE GOOD WORK OF THE COMPANY I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE SATISFACTION OF THE WINDOWS.
