Budget Bath

Work done in 2013 and I am already replacing entire shower and some tile work. Sheet rock work poor and needs to be repaired. Was not told the truth about shower enclosure

We used Budget Bath this year to renovate both our main bathroom and kitchen and highly recommend them. Dave is exceptionally creative, and his design, color and tile recommendations were perfect and not something we otherwise would have considered. They built a recessed cabinet that is beautiful and expertly expands on the available space, and a medicine cabinet with a mirror in the back, Dave’s suggestion, that adds a lot of light. Dave specializes in bathrooms but, because we already had a relationship, he also gave us equally creative suggestions for our kitchen, especially for building shelves into a wall, again, something we had not considered. They finished last week and did a perfect job. If you are interested in great design and craftsmanship Dave’s prices are very competitive. You can’t go wrong with Budget Bath.

This review is long overdue - Dave added a second-floor bathroom to my townhouse over a year ago and I am still so pleased with the quality of work! Dave started off by impressing me with his creativity at our first meeting - I wanted to add a master bath but I knew that there wasn't any convenient place to run the waste pipe to the basement. He came to my home and found a solution that at least 2 other contractors had overlooked: the space behind a bookcase where the radiator lines ran to the second floor! But with all due credit to Dave's problem-solving skills, I was equally impressed with the workmen who came to my house almost every day for 3 months. In particular, John (the project manager) was very patient and knowledgable, and the plumber (whose name I've forgotten, sorry!) was exceptionally talented (Dave's idea for the waste pipe, while brilliant, was difficult to execute - the plumber did it flawlessly). The trustworthiness of Dave's crew was extra important to me because I was gone for a 3-week long trip right in the middle of renovations! I felt no qualms at all leaving them a key, and sure enough I came back home to a job expertly done. It's also worth mentioning that the ceiling of my master bedroom collapsed during renovations (through no fault of Dave's crew). He didn't bat an eye but added ceiling repairs to the plan, even adding free recessed lights as a "military discount." I would absolutely hire Budget Bath again, you should hire them too!!

We are so pleased with the recent work done by Budget Bath. Our newly renovated bathroom is fabulous. Dave House is a master when it comes to layout and design. His skillful crew executed the plan with expert craftsmanship. The entire team were courteous, punctual, and terrific to work with. I look forward to having them do my basement bath.

This is my sixth project with the Budget Bath team. This time, Dave and his team redid a terrible prior kitchen remodel that had to be completely replaced down to the sagging joists. The kitchen is a 1940's addition to an 1855/1931 Fell's Point rowhome. The design included moving the fridge, stove, and sink to a much more efficient floor plan that allows me to cook with people without them walking into me. I got new cabinets, LEVEL flooring, heating, LEVEL counters, appliances, the works! My smallish kitchen now feels much bigger and the flow is vastly improved. Dave worked with the existing stairs and trim to keep them as original as possible and corrected oodles of long term problems with crawlspace footings and more. I absolutely love cooking in this kitchen now and look forward to decades of many (huge) family events. The moral of the story is: if you pay for quality the first time, you don't have to pay a second time. I went cut-rate on the first remodel and I learned my lesson. Now, let's start planning for project #7... :)

The owner came almost two weeks ago (4/12/18) to provide an estimate. It will be two weeks tomorrow. After 6 days of not receiving the estimate, I called the office and asked how long it would be. She said it takes a week and I would get a call Thursday letting me know the email is sent. This is week two and no word. I am not impressed with the lack of responsiveness. Also, I asked a lot of questions and the owner didn't seem to want to be bothered. He didn't seem to understand that after 50 + years copper pipes go bad from the inside and need to be replaced. I had just experienced a flood in another 50 + year old bathroom as a result. They weren't even going to replace the ancient plumbing. But they have been in business for 20+ years.

SPEED: Estimate was slow, although Dave did say he ended up sick. From first visit to the house to the estimate took 24 days. COST: Estimate seemed extremely high. 30k for the bathroom and an add’l 20k for the laundry area. Granted, we do have an old house and some plumbing needed to be redone. But still was very high. When I questioned David about the material cost, he asked how I could possibly be so low. I then gave him an exact itemized list based on Home Depot medium->high quality prices (example: vanity =$1k) and came up with a total of $5k material for the bath. So..... that means $25k in labor costs??? Dave’s only comment back was his prices were fair and that a standard small remodel from his company cost $15k. PROFESSIONALISM: When I said both my husband and I came from blue collar construction families and that for the cost of the estimate, we’d probably just do it ourselves, Dave downplayed our knowledge/ability saying he had 30yrs experience unlike us and that he suggest we don’t even try. We’ve remodeled plenty, so it was somewhat insulting.

Excellent, excellent job! 5 Stars, 10 Stars, highest I can give. I was impressed with his work and even when I had a problem with something, a year later, he came out, no extra charge and fixed it immediately. Price was in the middle of my estimates and worth every cent.

Dave and his crew did a fabulous job. The extra bathroom is now the nicest one in the house. They were always very punctual and professional and finished the job on schedule.

We can highly reccomend Dave House and the team at Budget Bath. We had planned on remodeling our master bath for a couple of years, but kept putting it off worried about the mess, time and people we didn't know working in our home. Dave came to our home and understood our concerns and reassured us completely. He listened to us carefully on the look we wanted to achieve and not only had some great design ideas, but gave us three price options to work within. His team was polite, caring, neat and always cleaned up wonderful after each work day. All of the team went out of their way to make sure we were happy during the process and Dave kept in touch with us daily to make sure everything was good and if we had any questions or concerns. We also got progress reports during the renovation. This was a great experience for us and would reccomend them to everyone. Looking forward to having them do more work in the future.

Budget Bath was on time for initial estimate and each time following. Really listened and worked with us to come up with best solution. Was concerned about our concerns, didn't minimize our ideas or issues. Worked through the kinks of a house from 1937, which is not easy. All workers respectful.

In my mind's eye, I pictured French doors with stained glass lights (small windows) on either side and lights along the stop to let light through and take advantage of the 10 foot ceilings. Lo and behold, I found a PERFECT door set just as I had imagined it at Second Chance Salvage. It was huge and there was no way my husband and I I could transport it but I bought it anyway and called Dave. Not only did Dave come to help me, he took apart the door assembly in a manner that it could be reconstructed so I could fit it in a pickup truck, helped me load it, and had his guys unload it and put it aside in the house until I could get it installed. Some months later, I was ready for the project and I had the Budget Bath crew back in. They took down the old wall and installed the new double French door assembly to make a large family room and a foyer area - what a job they did! It's just wonderful. It looks like it is original to the house. People who didn't see the house before can't believe it's been added! The guys built framing for the assembly and added drywall around it, did detailed finish carpentry, and Dave had molding matched to the original picture rail molding so that the result is seamless. The entire thing was carefully repainted along with the new drywall and an outlet from the old wall was relocated. I literally danced in the opened up room with complete delight when I saw it. Really, I danced. The attention to detail and the meticulous care were outstanding, but it's what I have come to expect from Dave and the Budget Bath crew. They show up. They do the work. They clean up. They are pleasant. And they are masters of their craft. We are now planning our next kitchen project and I can't wait to start. Thanks, Dave and Budget Bath!

We hired him to install i beam support for a room over our garage. He put dormers in front and back. was creative with the a pocket doorway, drywall, windows, installed bookcase and closet. He did a great job. He likes to concentrate on bathrooms.

They were excellent. It was a coupon I got through you guys...three hours of service for like $135.00 but, then it was another $22.00 for the materials and because I didn't have my own. All together it was about $150ish. It was like drywall repair. It was no painting, I asked them not to paint. They made it ready for painting. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

Very well-I was so pleased with the first bathroom that I decided to have the other bathroom and kitchen done by them as well. They are pleasant, punctual, and honorable. They are talented and creative when faced with challenges. Whatever I asked them to do they did it. Craftmanship and work ethic are stellar. My 2 bathrooms and kitchen are beautiful! All the workers were prompt and professional and finish the work within a week. Dave was extremely professional and got a team started right away. Highly recommend the team for any of your bathroom needs big or small.

This was the second bathroom Budget Bath did for me. The outcome from the first one was main reason for choosing them for the second one when the need arose. Totally different, and upgraded bathroom from previous old one.

They are ok, we are negotiating right now.

Dave's team were professional, personable and always helpful. The project took longer than expected because we ran into unexpected issues like floor joists that needed to be replaced, a cracked stand pipe and waiting for replacement windows. However it was an exciting, enjoyable experience I actually miss the team being in my house. The end result is better than I had imagined and is a great design. Most importantly I know that everything is 100% professionally installed and up to code. I would recommend Budget Bath to anyone looking to remodel their bathroom. Compared to the other firms I interviewed and got quotes from Dave's company went all out to give me the bathroom I wanted and did not cut back or make do on anything. In fact the highest quote i had $30000 did not want to move anything and did not include anywhere near the features i have in my bathroom. Make no mistake there is nothing cheap about Budget Bath. They are professionals that do not rip you off. See photos for a before and after.

Budget Bath did a great job remodeling our bathroom. Everything was itemized in their proposal which made it easy to understand. Their cost was reasonable too. Their payment schedule was simple to follow. Dave House and his crew were polite and patient, and treated us with respect and understanding. We felt very comfortable asking them questions and making design changes along the way. Everyone was very accommodating of our ideas and needs, and everything was completed timely and thoroughly. The crew cleaned up everyday before leaving and were very talented in what they did. During demo the crew discovered some electrical work that was needed, and they spoke to us immediately about this before moving on. We appreciated how patient they were with our indecision about floor tile type and shower tile design. Ultimately we went with their tile recommendations and the bathroom turned out beautifully. We would definitely use them again, Dave House, Kristy Shoemaker and the crew (John, John, Joe, Craig, Mike) made the whole process very low stress and smooth.

Our master bathroom is very small and badly needed a remodel. We called 6-7 companies to get quotes and ideas for a renovation. Dave was very friendly and gave us some ideas about extending our bathroom into our existing bedroom. We had never thought about making the bathroom bigger, as our house was built in 1966 and we thought we had to work within the confines of the existing room. Dave had an "outside the box" idea and helped us visualize the concept. We decided to go with Budget Bath, because they were professional, the most responsive and their product from pictures seen online were stunning. We had a few additional ideas and bounced them off of Dave and he said he could defnitely work with us and meet the additional requirements. Budget Bath employees were very responsive to emails, texts, and they showed up on the date and time promised. (This was first for us, as it rarely has happened in our previous experiences.) John and Craig showed up and did the demolition the first day and were back the following day at 8 am, just as promised to start work. Joe came and fixed our leaky plumbing , installed additional water shut off valves, fixed the issues that came up and made an extra repairs that were not part of the remodel. (This was a relief, because we have had issues with improperly installed drainage pipes and leaky pipes that were not taken care of by the previous homeowner.) All members of the team arrived promptly every day, or let us know if there was an issue (gathering materials, traffic, etc.). They laid down plastic and drop cloths to protect our flooring and our furniture, and they cleaned up every day before they left. Marvin did the tile work and did an absolutely beautiful job!!!! John and Craig worked on the rest of the bathroom (except plumbing which was done by Joe) and they constructed a beautiful built in bookshelf and added several outlets and a new light fixture for our bedroom. (Dave noticed we had no overhead light at one of his many visits to our home prior to us deciding on Budget Bath). Any questions we had, we were able to contact Kristy, the Office Manager or text Dave and they were prompt in answering any questions we had. Dave brought us several samples for lighting, fixtures, paint and tile. He made suggestions as we weren't sure about the exact look we wanted. We wanted a classic look that wouldn't date itself, and Dave showed us previous work and ideas. We weren't sure on a few suggestions, but trusted his professional judgment and the result was absolutely beautiful! This professional team turned our old, worn out unattractive bathroom into a beautiful, stunning room. We are very pleased with the result and will be calling Budget Bath back to renovate our main bathroom in the near future! We highly recommend Budget Bath!

Dave and his team renovated the master bath in my home. They gutted the late 70s era bathroom and brought it into the current century. Dave guided me through the process of selecting tile, stone, faucets and cabinets with patience and professionalism. The project lasted several weeks - a bit longer than expected due to a cabinet issue which was not Dave's fault - but I was kept apprised of the status on a regular basis. Dave's team were terrific to have in the house. They were all hard working and respectful. Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated. I also appreciated how clean they left the job site each day - there were days they actually cleaned my master bedroom floor because the work had been particularly dusty. I love my new bathroom and all the storage we now have.

This bathroom is mostly used by guests, but it needed an upgrade on a budget. Dave and his team did a great job refreshing the bathroom at a reasonable price.

Budget Bath did an excellent job with our hall bathroom. They really improved it and at a reasonable budget. Complete gut of the old bathroom and new layout. Came out beautifully.
