BEWARE of Scott. I contacted Bally b/c they were one of two companies I could find that claimed to be able to fix my brand of spa tub. He gave me a cash price which he said would be better than a credit card price. Big mistake. I have no credit card protection as a result. My radar should have lit up when he told me a story about one of his "rich" customer's children in Annapolis insulting him, and then he bragged about going back to his van and tearing up the receipt with what he was originally going to charge, then writing a new one charging a couple hundred dollars more, all due to a child asking him why he was so dirty. Beware of Scott. He talks a good game. He also bragged about having done regular work for the Orioles before they went with a new plumber. As for the work he did, my spa tub needed one jet replaced. Seemed minor enough. But then he broke a second jet that wasn't broken. I provided a brand new jet that I had bought myself to replace the one jet I hired him for. To replace the 2nd jet that he broke, he used an old, used, discolored jet that he took from a previous job. He was cursing the whole time, so obviously he found the work more than he could handle. He pretended that he had "discovered" that the 2nd jet was cracked. He did not admit to breaking it himself. I played along, feeling sorry for him. I thought he was just embarrassed. Again, another opportunity for my radar to alert me, but instead, I was naive. I will bet my own life that only the one jet had a crack, as when I discovered that one, I closely inspected all the rest. He said he couldn't finish it that day, so he had to come back. I had to get someone else to oversee the rest. Scott then ended up breaking yet more jets in the process. He must have pulled on the main pipe that circles the tub and connects the jets together. That is the only explanation I can think of, although I am a lay person. Bottom line, he broke them. The one jet that initially needed replacement had just a single crack that was noticeable only if you looked very closely and then pushed it in. After he got done with it, almost every jet had a completely separated, obvious crack. He had already left, saying he was finished with the job, and the elderly person I had overseeing the work had paid him. When I came back, I was shocked to see all the broken jets. These weren't hairline cracks. These were completely open cracks that caused water to fall down to the basement like Niagara Falls. I called him back, and he said he didn't notice them (Is he blind??), and that they were already broken. Just incredible. I'm just flabbergasted and kicking myself for allowing myself to be taken for a fool like that. The person I had overseeing the work told me Scott tried to increase the price from the max estimate. He declined to pay Scott more than the agreed upon maximum price. Based on Scott's previous vindictiveness with the Annapolis woman's child, I can't help but wonder if he broke all the jets on purpose because he didn't get the additional money he tried to shake me down for. Either that, or he is as incompetent as can be. Vindictive crook or incompetent crook, take your pick.
Description of Work: Scott was supposed to replace one jet on my spa tub. He ended up breaking additional jets and then denying it, and ran with my money.

This guy was great. He identified the problem, fixed it, and showed me how to fix it myself next time. He also informed me of an upgrade. Suggested that I not take it yet until I was more sure what i wanted. Very friendly, came on time and very reliable.
Description of Work: We needed someone to look at our jacuzzi tub. We've just moved in and it wasn't working.
