Replaced the actuator and filter on our ice dispenser. I have had Bob come out many time to repair my range, dryer, washer and refrigerator. He is always prompt and takes care of problems for a reasonable cost. What I really like about him is his honesty. He told us when our washer was at the end of it's life and advised purchasing a new one, rather than charging us for a temporary fix. He takes care of my mother-in-law's appliances too, and I never have to worry about her being taken advantage of.
Description of Work: fixed my icemaker

Not good, unfortunately. I was very happy at first, because Bob had such great Angie's List reviews. However, he spoke to me for just a few minutes when I called this morning and was surprisingly unhelpful and very disrespectful. He is very anxious about people posting anything at all negative on Angie's list - no matter how deserved it may be - and actually hung up on me after announcing he was going to "end this call now." Bob's attitude changed abruptly after I informed him I was an Angie's List member, not just a warranty service customer, and that I would be posting a review of how helpful he was to us concerning this call. I was just giving him what I thought was a fair warning because he seemed to be very quick to brush me off when I could use his help. If he had controlled his fear of a negative review he did not deserve - something I never post for no good reason - and responded to my concerns in a professional manner, he would have realized that he could EASILY have helped me - and earn a GREAT review in the process! Unfortunately, Bob assumed I was an unreasonable person with an unreasonable request of him and he treated me with very disrespectfully today. All I was asking was for him to tell our warranty company the simple God's honest truth, that not only does his company not service Real Host appliances, they are not going to find ANY appliance repair company to repair our particular wall oven. It is decades old, obsolete, and no parts are available. Being a repair expert, he should know this is true, so I did not think it wrong to ask him to explain this to our warranty company. I have spoken to others before him over the years, and I told him he was the second company within in an hour to refuse the assignment from our warranty company. I tried to tell him that we needed to get our house on the market to sell ASAP, so I did not want our claim bounced around anymore, wasting precious time. It was very frustrating when he would not even listen to my request when all I wanted was for him to simply call and advise our warranty company of the facts. This was NOT an unreasonable or unethical request. It might have required he make an extra phone call, but I would have given him a great review today in return for trying to help. Instead, he raised his voice on the phone and kept interrupting me, saying, "I can't believe you would go on Angie's List and post a negative review if I don't do what you want!" That is not at all what I said or intended to do. He just did not hear me correctly, jumped to a very negative conclusion, and then refused to allow me to correct his misperception - and then abruptly ended the call. Based on this unprofessional interaction, I personally would never hire him to do any work for me, so I am giving him a D. Maybe, however, he just was having a bad day.
Description of Work: Our home warranty service gave me Bob's number to call to have our ancient Real Host 24" gas wall oven checked out for a possible slow gas leak and some repairs. However, we knew there were no parts available and it would need to be replaced.

When our dryer stopped heating clothes (an important function) we were recommeded to All Appliance Repair by our usual appliance repairman, who was ill. We are glad for the referral because working with Bob went extremely well, he was professional, and able to quickly diagnose the problem with our dryer, find the part number on his mobile device and then retrieve it from his van. It was not the heating element, as I'd thought, but a manfunctioning switch that cuts the dryer off in the event of a high temperature. The work was done quickly and effectively. The dryer works great now. Bob was nice to work with, and careful with the stray cat we have in our basement. It was a good experience and we would definitely recommend All Applicance Repair.
