Description of Work: Replaced oven heating element. I'm not sure if the price was high or low; I did no comparisons. Just happy to have the oven working again.

Description of Work: I was not able to use their services because they did not return my calls the first day, then when I finally got in touch with them they set up an appointment and never showed up.

Description of Work: The gentleman came and, although I told them on the phone we had a Maytag less than two years old, he told me he wasn't trained in the 'new' type of refrigerators with computer chips, etc, although all we needed was to have our ice maker fixed. Disappointing!

Description of Work: They were called because of problems with the ice maker leaking and the freezer not freezing properly. They came and said the problem was defective thermostats in the freezer and refrigerator. $69.50 was paid for the estimate. A phone call later from the company gave a repair estimate of $381.08. We asked for time to discuss it. They called later and we told them to proceed. The repairman came when scheduled and replaced the thermostats and in the process broke the bulb in the refrigerator. On completion he told me everything was fixed and said I would have to replace the bulb. After he left it was apparent the ice maker still didn't work. My daughter called the next morning to report to the person in charge that the technician didn't fix the problem and that he broke the bulb. The person in charge said he would send the technician back to fix the ice maker and replace the bulb. He did in fact come back 2 days later, on a Friday, with a bulb and he performed addition repairs including turning the water to the ice maker on. When he left he said everything should work now. Unfortunately the ice maker still didn't work and again leaked out on the kitchen floor. My son called the next morning and left a message on the company's answering machine because it was Saturday by this time. He asked that a different technician be sent to get the probIem taken care of. I called them Monday morning and they said they would come at 2:00 the next day. A different technician did in fact come. He determined the ice maker needed to be replaced and 2 pin hole leaks were discovered in the tubing to the ice maker. I was charged $227.41 for that visit. The ice maker works now, but it should because it is new. Management was responsive and the technicians did arrive when they said, but I could have purchased a new refrigerator after all that.

Description of Work: This company NEVER contacted me after I sent an email request thru ANGIE'S list. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I think it is very unprofessional to not even acknowledge a customer who seeks their service. This was my 1st ever time on Angie's list and AA DEPENDABLE needs to change to FF UNRELIABLE. A friend told me to contact Sears Home Repair and I only have WONDERFUL things to say about them! The date of service and cost of repair are from SEARS to replace the defrost heater assembly in my side by side GE Profile Refrigerator.

Description of Work: They advertise a flat rate of $74.50 for the same day appliance repair. They came out and diagnosed the problem for $74.50 for a 10 minute diagnosis. The serviceman seemed to know what he was doing and advised me as to what to look for, but did not repair anything. He said he would only need to make the repair once the problem was confirmed. Once I confirmed it, the problem was getting them back out to make the repair. They said it would take a day to order the part. Then they wouldn't come out on a weekend. Then the manager was gone on Friday and the receptionist wouldn't make an appointment for Monday or Tuesday. The manager was supposed to call me on Monday at 10:00, but didn't. I called and talked to Brandy who set an appointment between 1-4 on Monday. The different manager, Crystal, called me back and said they refused to do further business with me because I told them I would consider stopping payment on the check if they weren't going to finish the job. Crystal told me I could go expletive myself. I later learned they had already cashed the check.
