I could not be happier, the walls look great and the effect is exactly what I wanted, even though I could not articulate what I wanted when we began. It simulates texture, it's robust, it's subtle (it doesn't jump up and down and yell "faux! faux!), it's washable. The estimate was spot on. Ron provided sample boards so I could pick color and texture, then provided two more boards with samples he'd had made up. Valley color-matched the marble tiles in my front hall from a broken piece of tile I gave him to carry away. The day of the work, two young women arrived, and they started by applying the faux finish to one area of the wall and checking with me to see if the effect was what I wanted. They spent the whole day doing the job, then one of them came back later in the week to do some touch-up to places she wasn't happy with. They gave me the option to mark places I wanted her to re-do; I had only one. The existing relatively new wall paint was used as the under coat, and it had not been applied correctly in several places, so she had to really work to make it look right. They did the front hall, walls going up the stairs, and second floor hallway. I know faux can be expensive, but this job was in my opinion correctly priced and very affordable for the result.
