When I came home from them finishing the job. They had blown out my electrical socket and I had to call an electrician to replace the plugs. They also didn't finish cleaning 2-3 rooms, some tvs, and a bathroom vanity. They agreed to come back out the next day to finish the work but because of winter weather they said they couldn't make it (though another contractor was able to make it to my home that same day without any problems), and requested I work with them to come back out the following week. My wife forgot to leave the key on Monday and they said no problem that they'd check their calendar for the next available day to come out and finish the work. Instead, we received an email that Friday saying they no longer felt they were obligated to come back out and finish the work. I've tried to work with them to have them do another full house cleaning (possibly at a lower rate because of the previously missed areas) but I haven't heard anything back from them.

First the good: They responded to our request for cleaning and sent a reminder a couple days ahead of the scheduled dayl They did clean some things well like the hardwood floors. The not so good: They were late. One cleaner showed up 15 minutes late and the other was over 45 minutes late. A detailed list was given to them of what needed cleaning. They missed or didn't clean two of those items. They didn't clean the kitchen table, or the stainless steel trash can. The grout area at the base of the shower wasn't cleaned well. There was still some reddish mildew present that I was able to easily wipe off with a cloth and soft scrub. Part of the problem was that I work out of the home and didn't do a complete walkthrough of their cleaning job when they were done as I was busy. Still one shouldn't have to do that if the cleaners are good. Maybe other Angieslist customers aren't as picky as us? The company was highly rated. We had worse but not by much. Hope to do better next time we pick a cleaner.

I used MJK Total Cleaning for weekly cleaning for over 7 months, beginning in late 2013 and ending early June 2014. The cleaning performed left the home looking neat and well kept, however, it was overall superficial. There were areas that were not cleaned--e.g. behind the family room sofa and lounge chair, dusting blinds, fully vacuuming under our king size bed--either because their insurance did not cover movement of furniture, they did not have a vacuum that could fit under low spaces, or there simply was not enough time. I even submitted a list of "extra" items to clean at an additional time at their convenience, but there was no indication from Kathy Fuka that this could ever be accomplished. This situation eventually became quite bothersome, as it seemed my home could never be completely cleaned by this cleaning team. Another issue was the cost of the service. Initially, I was quoted a price of $200, which was based on agreed upon areas to be cleaned. At the outset, the cleaning seemed torequire about 4-5 hours. After a several cleaning sessions, the time spent cleaning decreased. I then received a call, that I was being charged one of the highest rates and my fee was reduced to $125. Even so, some sessions were completed in 2 hours--I was paying $62.50/hour! Despite my complaint that more time could be spent doing more tasks, it was difficult to add even small areas, e.g. cabinets, for cleaning. At the outset Kathy Fuka and I agreed on a cleaning day and arrival time. On the final visit the cleaning team showed up one and one-half hours after our agreed upon arrival time, with the excuse that they had 4 other houses to clean and were running late. I phoned Kathy Fuka who indicated that she could not guarantee an arrival time with the number of houses on the day's schedule. Overall, it appeared that the company had over scheduled and our original understanding on arrival time was not a priority. However the inability to accommodate our original agreement was never communicated to me. A few days after my upset about the late arrival time of the staff, I received an email from Kathy noting that she was discontinuing her service for our home since her techs had complained I had been disrespectful. She never sought any dialogue or resolution with me. Although Kathy reaches quick judgments and can be brusque, she had always been reasonable and friendly. Thus, I was surprised with the unprofessional, one-way termination of her services. In summary, the cleaning was incomplete, the cost for the service provided was too high, plus the number of qualified cleaners on the staff appears to be quite limited.

The owners are very professional and were punctual on both the day of the scheduled cleaning as well as the day they came by to provide an estimate. They were hired to perform a move-out clean on my small one bedroom apartment. The end result was above average ; however, the base boards did not look like they had been wiped down at all. I'm a detail oriented person so this flaw really bothered me. I had the opportunity to share this feedback a day or so afterwards and they were apologetic. For a one-time clean I would definitely recommend them but for regular house cleaning their prices are quite a bit higher than competitors and I'm not conviced they are justified.

They showed up for an estimate for cleaning our house. They were very professional and showed up on time. Very pleasant and knowledgable. The problem was their price. They were at least double the amount of any cleaning service we have had or got prices from. It is a shame that I think that sometimes services will base their prices on the look of a neighborhood instead of the job itself. I wish I could have hired them, but their price was crazy.

Our pricing is based upon the following factors: square footage of the home, tasks to be performed in the home, estimated time to complete these tasks and frequency of service. We also go to great lengths to ensure that our techs are fully trained, drug free and have a clean criminal background. Our techs also undergo continuous training to maintain the level of quality in a client's home. We do understand that our pricing is not within everyone's budget.

This is the second time I have used this company. Last year on a moving out cleaning of an apartment. The service was good then and still is good today. I always ask if Kathy has to get to another job after mine, that way every ones expectations are met. Turns out they had to leave to get to the next client on time. Kathy offered to come back and finish some odds and ends. That worked for both of us. Again, I can't emphasize the importance of communicating exactly what you are looking for with your cleaning services. Good owners and good cleaning. !!!!
Description of Work: House cleaning. I had specific rooms that I wanted cleaned. 2 1/2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and family room. Top of the kitchen cabinets and window tracks. Door frames and wooden base boards vacuumed. Bathrooms were cleaned top to bottom. Floors vacuumed, base board, walls. Toilets, tub, shower stalls and sinks all cleaned.Carpeted rooms vacuumed. I feel that it is a good idea to review with Kathy what you want cleaned. Everyone cleans their home differently. You need to communicate you wishes and not expect something done if Kathy does not know about it.

It went well. When we called they responded quickly and came by at the agreed upon time to look at the job and give the estimate. We agreed to their price and they set a date to do the work. They were prompt and very thorough in their work. They worked very hard and left the house looking 100% better than it did before their arrival. All of the house needed attention but especially the 3 bathrooms and the kitchen needed LOTS of scrubbing. They provided all of the cleaning supplies which was great. We definitely recommend them and will use them again.

I am dealing with prepping a house for sale out of state, six hours from my home. When I contacted Jeff and Kathy's Cleaning Service, based on Angie's List, they were very polite and responsive. Over the phone, we discussed the cleaning job and I made sure to tell them there were biohazards in the house. They said that was no problem and we scheduled a walk through. During the walk through, both Kathy and Jeff said there were no issues with the condition of the house and the biohazards, (blood and vomit on the carpet). The carpet was to be cleaned, it has been removed. Jeff even said they had cleaned worse. They gave a price of $45./hr per person and said they had no idea how long the cleaning would take. We agreed and my husband and I drove home. When I contacted them two days later to say we were uncomfortable with no ceiling on the cost, they told me they decided not to take the job, they were concerned for their workers. That I understand, what was totally unprofessional was NOT telling me when they saw the house and I was in state, when I could have had another service out to inspect the property. They waited until I was 6 hours away and didn't even initiate contact to tell me, I had to contact them. THEY MAY DO A GREAT JOB CLEANING, I WILL NEVER KNOW, BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT FORTHRIGHT ON OUR WALKTHROUGH.

Jeff and Kathy’s Cleaning Service, Inc. welcomes all feedback from clients or potential clients. We feel that any feedback lets us improve our services. The potential client called us a couple days prior to the walk through. During the phone call, the state of the home was given and we decided to see the home to ensure that the condition was how the potential client stated. The home did contain biohazards. During the walk through, the condition of the carpet in one of the bedrooms was discussed. The potential client stated that she was unsure if the carpet would be removed in this one particular bedroom. We stated that the carpet would need to be removed if we were to do the cleaning. We stated that we had SEEN worse, but did not state we had cleaned worse. We have NOT cleaned homes in worse condition. We gave the price stated and the potential client did not seem happy with the quoted price per man hour. We left the walk through with the client wanting to think about the price. At no time, was the cleaning job offered to us. At no point was the price agreed upon. After returning to our office, we (Jeff and I) discussed the potential of not having the carpet removed from the worst bedroom. We researched the removal of the carpet and potentially the sub-flooring, as the carpet was very bad, and decided that since we were not certified to do this type of job as a whole, we would pass on the job. We contacted a local company that IS certified and equipped to not only do the cleaning, but to remove the carpet in the worst bedroom as part of the job. At that point, contact was made via email to the potential client to discuss the situation and refer the other company. The potential client emailed, in a separate email, stating she was not in favor of having an open ended amount of time for the job. We could not give a time limit on the job as we had no idea how much time it would take. At no point in time, during the walk through or via email, did the any of us come to any agreement on us doing the cleaning. We understand this is a difficult time for the family and we do wish them well with the home in New Windsor.

Jeff and Kathy came to our house for a quick introduction and inspection of the home. They were courteous and professional during this visit, and were incredibly understanding about our dog, who sheds like CRAZY (hence, the reason for employing Jeff and Kathy in the first place!). The day of their first service was remarkable- I remember getting home and thinking that the last time our home had been that clean was when we moved in! That afternoon, Kathy sent a detailed e-mail about all the services they had completed, and it was astounding. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Jeff and Kathy have been wonderful. They have gone way above and beyond just providing a service. My husband and I are both Veterans and both have medical concerns that currently preclude us from being able to clean our home in a way that is safe for us and our recovery. After a very nice informational interview with Jeff and Kathy, who are very personable and sociable people, they contacted us to inform us of a program called "Cleaning for Hero's" that discounts the price of cleanings for 4 months. They assisted us through the application process and again went above and beyond and extended the discounts for us. These discounts are provided by them and are completely voluntary. I can't emphasize enough how great Jeff and Kathy are and how they've made us feel at ease while cleaning our home. We were apprehensive at first to have "strangers" in our home to clean; especially while we are home. They, and their employees have all been very kind, courteous and are VERY hard workers. Even the young girl that was working during the summer...which is a testament to them as employers and business owners. That just goes to show what a great service they provide. Great company, great service. Had scheduled cleaning of a townhouse on 6/26/2013. The movers were very late causing no cleaning could be done the day scheduled. Kathy saw the situation to be urgent for me and offered to come back on that Friday to clean the townhouse. This was a life saver for me. Both Kathy and Jeff came back on Friday early to clean. They vacuumed two levels, base boards walls, ceilings. Washed inside of all windows, 2 bathrooms, floors , sinks, tub (multiple times), kitchen cabinets inside and out. Refrigerator and stove. I could have not done this job myself. Kathy and Jeff are truly conscientious and caring providers of their profession. I would recommend their services to all. Thank you again.

Kathy and her employee recently performed a spring housecleaning in my home. In addition to routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, etc., they got to places I haven't been able to for awhile. They cleaned baseboards, ceiling fans, cob webs, window sills, etc. They even took the knobs off the stove to clean them! I haven't seen my hardwood floor shine like that since it was installed. The stainless steel appliances in the kitchen sparkle! Everything was top notch when I arrived home. They spent a good part of the day in my home, and I thought their price was more than fair for what was provided. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and plan to use them again in the future.

As a retired single male, housekeeping is not my thing and Kathy takes excellent care of my home. Adding to her workload is lots of dust from several rehab projects throughout the house and she has taken the additional mess in stride and done an excellent job of getting the house back to normal. I employed this cleaning service on the recommendation of a family member and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent service for a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Houskeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchen, washing any dishes in the sink, two loads of laundry, changing bed linens, dusting and vacuuming. The service is performed every two weeks and Kathy keeps my house spotless.

The owner, Kathy, came out to see my home and give me an estimate for cleaning it. Her cleaning crew came out. Kathy and I ended up firing one another. We had some communication problems and a misunderstanding. You've got to be really careful with Kathy. She jumped to some conclusions about an email that I wrote and said, "I think it's best if we don't do business together." And she just completely misunderstood me. I decided to let it go and not try to straighten it out. That did not work out well. They did a really nice job cleaning. I was happy with it. They're extremely crisp and professional, in terms of the way they handle things. You get a packet of information and everything. I was impressed with that. When they came, I had forgotten what time they were coming. I let them in, in my pajamas. She sent me a confirmation email but I don't check my email that much, so I missed my scheduled appointment, when I was expecting them to come. It was over that, that the whole misunderstanding happened. she jumped to conclusions and was very judgmental. Really, it was over nothing. You can pay online with your credit card and I actually paid her the day after the cleaners had come out, and Kathy hit me up for a late fee of $35.00 because I didn't pay it the day of service. I sent her an email saying, "I can't believe you did this for being one day late." And she said our contract said there will be a late fee. She was angry and said I clearly didn't read her little packet.

The client initially contacted us by phone. When I returned the call, I gathered information from the client. The information I gathered was her address and email address. I then set an appointment for a walk-through of her home. The walk-through too place in late October 2012. During this meeting we discussed her cleaning needs and I left her with our New Client Welcome Package. This Welcome Package contains information about our company and our standard cleaning packages. I explained to the client that I would return to my office and work up a Quote for her and send it via email. I also explained that we have a Residential Client Service Agreement. This Service Agreement is not a contract. It simply states what we, as a Cleaning Service, need to expect from our clients and what the clients can expect from us. I worked up the Quote for the client and emailed it along with the Residential Client Service Agreement. The client responded in a very timely manner via email accepting our quote and wanting service to start as soon as possible. The first available date was November 12, 2012 due to Holiday Cleanings. The client confirmed, by email, the November 12, 2012 date. The client asked about how payment should be made and I explained that payment is due either the day of the service, by check or prior and that we had the ability to accept payment on-line via a link at the bottom of the invoice. I reminded the client that we would also need the last page of our Residential Client Service Agreement available to us the day we started service. I received no response regarding the Service Agreement. A couple of days prior to the cleaning, we sent the client a reminder email with our invoice for the cleaning attached, as well as the Service Agreement. This was the second time I sent the Service Agreement to the client. Again, I reminded the client that the last page of the Service Agreement would need to be signed and available to us at the start of our cleaning and that payment could be made on-line via the link at the bottom of our invoice. Sending an email with the invoice is standard practice for us as it reminds the client of the service and allows for payment on-line. When a client opts to pay on-line, I receive an email confirming payment. We did not receive a confirmation email for payment prior to the cleaning, however, some clients pay by check the day of service and therefore, I was not concerned. We arrived at the client’s home at the designated time on the date of service. We knocked on the door and received no answer. I called the client figuring that she did not hear us knock on the door. My call woke up the client. We were let into the client’s home and we began work. Shortly after we began work, the client stated she would pay for the service on-line that day. I reminded her that we also needed the last page of the Residential Client Service Agreement signed and either left for us that day or scanned and emailed to me by the end of the day we cleaned. She acknowledged this. We continued to clean the client’s home. About mid-way through our cleaning, the client left the house and stated she would make payment on-line after she returned. I agreed and we finished the cleaning. The following day, I had not received the email confirmation for on-line payment. Our Residential Client Service Agreement states that payment is due the day of service and if payment is not rendered that day, we reserve the right to not clean or to assess a late fee of $25. Due to the cleaning being complete, we assessed the late fee of $25. I emailed the client the invoice for the late fee, as well as the Residential Client Service Agreement. This was the third time I sent the Agreement to the client. I received confirmation of payment, for the cleaning only, being made on-line on November 15, 2012. This was three days after the date of service. I also received an email from the client stating that she did not know why we assessed the $25 late fee. I returned her email stating the reason for the $25 late fee, which I subsequently wrote off, and explaining to her that the Residential Client Service Agreement clearly stated when payment was due. I sent the Residential Client Service Agreement to the client three times. She did not acknowledge the Agreement by email; however, she did acknowledge the Agreement verbally. Standard practice in the residential cleaning industry is that payment is due the day of service. It is also standard practice to have policies in place for entry to the home, pets, inclement weather, etc. Our Residential Client Service Agreement clearly states all of the above. The Agreement is put into place for the protection of the client and us. We did not receive a signed Service Agreement and we felt it best to no longer service the Client.

They cleaned my house and installed some shelving for me and they installed some light fixtures in my laundry room. I would definitely use them again. The price depends on how bad my house is and how long it takes. They are a great company.
Description of Work: Jeff and Kathy's Cleaning Service have come out 5 or 6 times since March 2012. They cleaned my house.

I met with Jeff and Kathy the week before, they did a walk through and discussed an estimate. They were extremely fair in their pricing, on the low side of what I had been paying and other quotes I had received. Kathy came out at one, (on time to the minute) worked hard until almost six in the evening. Even though she worked two hours over her time estimate (I had additional things for her to do), she didn’t charge me any more than the estimate. I even caught her washing my dishes, what a wonderful surprise. She got all the grime off my blinds and windows, they now look sparkling clean. My bathtub has never looked cleaner and I am so excited about when she can come back. Jeff and Kathy’s also do organizational services so I am now planning on living in a clean, organized house, finally. Kathy had some great and affordable ideas about organizing my basement and making the most of my limited space. They even do house sitting and pet sitting too. My finicky dog loved her. So now when we come home from a trip, we can come home to a clean house and a happy puppy. I couldn’t be more pleased with this company and I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Jeff and Kathy’s Cleaning, Inc. came out and did a fantastic cleaning job for us. I have been looking around for a cleaning service in the area and tried many but never seemed to find a fit. These company either: cost too much, couldn’t fit into my schedule, were not taking on new clients or worse yet didn’t show up at all. So, I am happy to say, I am finally thrilled with my new cleaning company.
