Kitchen Saver

I requested an appointment online and received an immediate email saying they would call within a day. A very nice woman called me 3 hours later and when we discussed setting up the appointment I was told they would not give an estimate unless my husband was present. This is the second time I have had a refacing company require my husband be at home at the time of the estimate. That is not an option for us so I thanked her and will look for another company. I have completed major remodeling projects on the inside and outside our home and never had a vendor require my husband be present at the time of the estimate. I'm very disappointed.

After several meetings, extensive research, and competitive bids, we negotiated a contract with Kitchen Saver's Adam Chandler. His commitment to detail, timeliness, and professionalism reassured us that our project was probably in the hands of the best company. The installation was executed by Dave Duxon; who, in my opinion, was more than a cabinet maker or carpenter. He is a craftsman. His punctuality, work ethic, consistency and insistence on perfection was absolutely reassuring that we had, indeed, chosen the company that is the benchmark for kitchen remodeling. Admittedly, I am not easily impressed. However, in this case, I am very impressed with, and proud of, our new kitchen. Oddly, the food even tastes better. In military jargon: "Well done, Kitchen Saver, well done."

We are very happy with our new kitchen! We had Kitchen Savers remodel our kitchen; some cabinets received new doors, and we had some completely new cabinets built. The design consultant, Adam Taylor, didn't pressure us and took the time to figure out what we wanted the end result to be. After we signed the contract, there were some changes we decided we wanted, and everyone was very quick to respond to make sure we kept the project on track. They were patient and genuinely interested in making sure we got the kitchen we truly want. Our installer, Rudy Javorski, was always professional, always on time, and extremely detail oriented when it came to making my kitchen perfect! His work is very impressive! I truly feel he enjoys his work and wants every kitchen to be perfect when he leaves. I worked with Carol and John, as well, during the process, and they were also professional and quick to respond in order to make sure my project went smoothly and answer any questions we had. To summarize, we had a great experience with Kitchen Savers, we LOVE our kitchen now, and we would highly recommend them!

It went really well and the results were better than I had expected. Our kitchen really needed updating and the price was good for doing the refacing of the cabinets. It took about a week and I do recommend having regular communication with Kitchen Savers on coordinating start time and completion of the project. They are very nice and easy to work with. They offered some good suggestions. a lot more options in cabinets and counter tops than I would have expected. Financing terms were simple, fair and easy. They had talked about during the sale visit the value of having only full time company employed employees. This is a benefit and it shows in the work. Bill Miller was assigned to our job and he started and finished, in fact he was the only person working on our project and was very respectful, with quality work and always cleaned up after each day's work. I have never seen a provider keep the work area as clean. You have to be prepared for a project like this to take a few days. But it is worth it in the quality and the fact you only have 1 person in your house and not a crew. We are very satisfied with using Kitchen Saver and the work that was done and the quality and glad we chose them and would highly recommend them.

This was one of the best experiences we have had. Mike Lilli did a fantastic job on our project, he is a true craftsmen. We would recommend Mike to anyone interested in any kind of remodel work to their home.

We are planning on selling our home in about a year and decided we needed to update our kitchen. Kitchen Saver showed us how we could make our kitchen look new at a lower cost by refacing the cabinets and installing new drawers and doors. The results were wonderful. Everything was done exactly as promised at the price quoted. Rudy, our installer, did a great job and everything looks perfect. The 10 year warranty that Kitchen Saver gives can be transferred to the future new owner giving me a great selling point for the house.

This was a well choreographed dance involving a lot of people doing their particular work. Kitchen Saver juggled all the details with the different contractors, making the process a breeze for us. Mike Lilli installed the cabinets and finished within two weeks. He is a master craftsman who took some very beat up walls and ceiling and made them look like new. The cabinets fit to perfection and are beautiful. The entire project was finished in about four weeks. John Riegert, Project Manager, kept in regular contact with us to ensure that we were satisfied with the work. Rob Mayne was our design consultant, and we are indebted to him for his vision. He created open space between the kitchen and dining room that is comfortable and functional, with so much more kitchen storage space--we love it. The workmen did their best to minimize dust flying around the house by erecting plastic sheeting in the doorways. They consistently cleaned up at the end of the day, taking their trash with them. Everyone was very pleasant to work with.

We did NOT use this provider. While the salesman who came to our house was nice enough, our experience with the company after his visit was less than positive. The day the salesman came out to the house, he gave us an oral estimate for the work we wanted done. The price generally seemed reasonable but my wife and I wanted to take some time to discuss after the salesman left. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of not getting the estimate in writing that day. After a couplel weeks (and some discussions back and forth with the salesman) my wife and I were ready to move forward with the project. When I asked the salesman for the exact price and scope of work in writing, the price had jumped up dramatically. Originally when the salesman was at our house, the estimate was just over $15,000. But now it was over $21,000. The salesman said he discussed our concerns with the CEO and they would drop the new price by about $500. But in our eyes, they should have honored the original quote we were given. Anyway, if you decide to use this company, make sure you get the written estimate and that they will honor it.

The process with Kitchen Saver was seamless from beginning to end. I contacted Kitchen Savers to let them know we were interested in cabinet refacing, new countertops, and backsplash replacement. Carole at their office set up an appointment for us with on of their estimators, Dan, to come out and see the kitchen and discuss our options. Dan was very knowledgable, and a great sales person. He got us really excited about the process and we decided then and there to go ahead with the job. At the appointment he did explain, however, that Kitchen Saver does not do backsplashes. I was a little disappointed to hear that, since I mentioned to Carole on the initial call that we wanted our backsplash replaced but decided to overlook it and move forward with the job anyway. (A side note: Frankie's Flooring out of Upper Marlboro, MD completed our backsplash removal and replacement---We highly recommend him!) After our appointment with Dan, Kitchen Saver sent out another gentleman to take our final measurements for the cabinets. He was very efficient and friendly. He did point out that the tilt-outs under our sink were not noted on the form completed by Dan, and it would be an up-charge if we would like to keep the tilt-outs. I was a bit frustrated with this because during our appointment with Dan, he pulled on our tilt-outs and said, "oh good you have tilt-outs." Regardless of this, they were not noted on the specification sheet so we decided to go without them to avoid the up charge. The next step was picking our granite with their sub-contractor, Pyramid Granite. During our appointment with Dan he explained that we can select any granite in levels 1 through 3, and that is covered in our cost. Anything above a 3 would have to be paid out of pocket directly to Pyramid Granite. Upon arriving at Pyramid Granite, we explained that we are working with Kitchen Savers and would like to see the granites included in the cost of the job. They took us around and we selected a beautiful slab of Himalayan White. When we returned to their office, the woman explained to us that this stone is a level 4 (of course). So I asked her if anything we saw today was within levels 1 through 3, and she said "no, they are all higher than 4." I then asked to see what granite they have that is within a level 1 through 3. She showed us one hideous piece of stone that she claimed was the only stone they carried in levels 1 through 3. We decided to stick with the Himalayan White (and pay $400+ more), however we were frustrated with the lack of options and the service received as described. It felt like were were forced to pay more when we had expected to have some options in levels 1 through 3 based on our conversations with Kitchen Saver. A few weeks later, the job began and our installer's name was Ken. He was very polite and explained that he had several years of experience which made us feel comfortable. On the first day he had asked if we were expecting brackets under our granite bar top. I told him absolutely not, because we sat with Dan for a good amount of time with a tape measurer and figured out the exact depth of granite we should get to avoid needing brackets. On granite installation day, I came home from work to find brackets under our bar top. I did not receive a phone call or any notice from the installer or Pyramid Granite, which was disappointing. I did not even have a chance to review the style of brackets. They were just installed without our knowledge. My husband and I decided to let it slide as along as Ken would caulk and paint them, which he happily agreed to do. Besides this incident, the rest of the project went smoothly. We noted a drawer handle that was installed crooked and Ken fixed it right away. There was also a defect cabinet door, which had some dents, and he promptly ordered us another one which will be here in about a week. Overall, the process was smooth and I was impressed with the friendly, knowledgable, and courteous team of experts that work for Kitchen Saver. Our kitchen looks beautiful and I am excited to show it off to our friends and family. The only reason I did not leave an A rating is because of the experience as I described with Pyramid Granite.

My husband and I were really pleased with this company. Everyone we encountered, from people answering phones at the office to our final installer were personable and professional. The sales rep helped us come up with a plan and stay within budget. A contractor came in to do the necessary measurements; he took plenty of time with us to answer more questions. In the end, of course, the installer can make all the difference. Our installer was very skilled, totally competent, professional. My husband is a woodworker and spent a lot of time looking over the installer's shoulder; my husband was impressed! The work began with some repair and re-flooring of the old cabinets. The renewal process included installation of new solid wood frame and panel cabinet doors; installation of completely new dovetailed full extension drawers with solid wood fronts. and application of matching hardwood veneer to all exposed surfaces of the cabinetry. High quality concealed soft-close hinges were used on all cabinet doors. The kitchen island was renewed with frame and panel sides and back. All was finished with new matching crown and toe molding and kick-boards. The work took five 8 or 9 hour workdays. In that time we went from a weary builder's grade oak cabinetry to beautiful "harvest gold" cherry. The kitchen looks spectacular. The work is of top quality. KitchenSaver supplies instructions on care and cleaning of the new cabinetry and issues a 10 year warranty on all labor and materials. We would definitely recommend this company!

The biggest issue was the communication related to subcontractors. It was not stipulated well in the contract.

The work went very well. I added a pantry door at the last minute, and Hussam was able to accommodate me. He measured the door, and made me a temporary door for the pantry. The new door will be installed the middle of July. I was very happy about this because the work is superior, it looks like I have a new kitchen. I am very, very happy with my refaced cabinets. Hussam's work is superior. I I were to have more work done, I certainly would ask for Hussam Elghodady.

Tim arrived on day/as planned & reviewed scope of work including timetable. He finished on time and his work was impeccable. If I need my kitchen done in my new house, I will use Kitchen Saver & rock tops, outstanding product and work by Tim!

Kitchen Saver just completed our kitchen renovation and we are completely satisfied beyond words. Everyone involved was second to none, but our installer, Tim Mitchell, was a class act in every way, from his attention to detail, meticulousness and cleanliness to his great personality. Kitchen Saver truly saved our kitchen in a short period of time, two weeks. We can't speak highly enough of the company, all involved as well as the end result. Highly recommended!

Everything was totally organized. Al Brauer was my design consultant and was excellent. He explained everything that would be done to make my kitchen look so much better. John Riegert was the project manager who was constantly in touch to make sure that everything was going smoothly. Patrick Calhoun was the installer who was the best at his job. He worked non-stop and methodically put everything together. They were ALL excellent about letting me know what was going to happen and when it would happen. The finished project is absolutely beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this company. I have already recommended them to a few people and will continue to sing their praises. The price was good, the workmanship was excellent and I would definitely hire them again.

Kitchen Saver and their contractors did a great job! My big challenge was in redesigning and replacing an under-the-counter low boy water heater in the kitchen of my condo. From the initial sales person to the project manager, installer, plumber and electrician, they really listened to my needs and came up with viable design solutions. I ended up with a last minute trip overseas during part of the project, and felt very comfortable giving the installer keys to my condo for the duration. All the employees and contractors kept the work area as tidy as possible, and cleaned up after the project was completed. The salesperson helped me to cut various costs by recommending a website where I could order the sink and faucet for a reasonable price. He connected me with Pyramid granite, who also did a terrific job installing the counter tops. I was pretty nervous about several aspects of the project, especially the redesign and installation of the cabinet housing the water heater. But after several consults, I had full confidence in Kitchen Savers, and I was not disappointed. My kitchen looks beautiful and I am very satisfied.

When KitchenSaver called to confirm my appointment, I told them that my wife would be meeting with them because I couldn't make the appointment. They said that they would have to cancel because the property owner had to be present (this was never mentioned when I made the appointment). I told them that my wife was a joint owner. They insisted that she would not be able to make decisions without me. I said she most certainly could make decisions without me. They said that we would receive a quote on the spot, and that she would doubtless want to discuss with me first. This was a pretty obvious admission that they employ unprofessional high pressure sales tactics, so I canceled the appointment.

Their design consultant, Adam Taylor came to the house in the evening. He listened to what we wanted and proposed a design. My wife wanted to get rid of the space above the cabinets so Adam proposed that we add 12? glass cabinets above the upper cabinets to fill it in. He did full measurements and came up with the cost estimate that evening. After we accepted the proposal, work was scheduled to start 11/30 and would take 2 weeks. John Reigert, the project lead, came out and verified the design and its measurements. John suggested several key design changes to improve the design. The carpenter, Tim Mitchell arrived on time on 11/30 and again we reviewed the design. Tim?s work was flawless, it is unbelievable that he did most of that work by himself. He cleaned up after himself everyday (a pleasant surprise). He finished one day late due to issues beyond his control. Kitchen Savers uses Rock Tops Fabrication for their granite tops. We went to their location to pick out the granite, they had plenty to pick from and we made our choices. We chose 2 different colors of granite (one for the island, one for the counters). One of them was out of the price range that came with the Kitchen Savers estimate, so we paid Rock Tops the difference. Rock Tops seemed a little disorganized. We spent an hour picking out granite, even watched them write down all the info. Then a few days later we were told they couldn't find our paperwork. It was eventually found on someone else's desk. Biggest complaint: We were told we would lose access to water for only two days while they redid the counter tops and replaced the sink. We lost access to water for 10 days, starting from the first day they started work until the granite counter tops were installed the following Wednesday. No dishwasher or sink was fairly disruptive and we ended up eating out for the entire time. Minor complaint: For the money you spend redoing a kitchen, we were put out by the fact that we had to clean out the cabinets/drawers ourselves after they were done. There was wood shavings in all the drawers and cabinets due to the installation of the handles. Pencil dots were on the fronts, I guess for centering the handles. It would have been a nice touch if a cleaning crew could have been sent out to clean up. Final thoughts: We love this kitchen. It turned out just like we hoped it would. Big thanks to everyone at Kitchen Savers who made this kitchen happen.

A perfect example of how a professional service business should be run. They said what they were going to do, when they were going to do it and how long it would take. The nailed it! Very professional, great job and wonderful staff. The sales rep. even suggested I purchase the countertops separately to save us some money. He told me where to go and who to ask for. I would highly recommend!!

Exactly as promised. The delivered lazy susan door was incorrectly drilled and a new one was ordered and installed as promised. Installer (Ken) was outstanding. House was left in perfect condition each day. Installation took 5.5 working days.

The sales person (Adam) was very pleasant and not pushy at all. He gave us a few great ideas that made use of dead space by doing away with two doors on a lower cabinet with a half shelf and replacing them with three drawers. Also filling in about a 4 inch space at the top of the cabinets which allowed for larger doors and a much more professional look. A few days later a man showed up and measured everything. We were told it would take a couple of weeks for all the doors and drawers to be made and Nov 2nd was scheduled for installation to begin. On Nov 2nd the installer Rudy showed up and started the process. He was very nice and neat. The quality of his work was great and was able to finish the job on time. He also came up with some minor ideas such as changing the type of molding he used which looked better and more professional. If any issues came up the company was very responsive and were resolved quick.

We called Kitchen Savers because we were not interested in ripping out the cabinets and starting over, but were more interested in re-facing and repairing what we had. From the reviews, Kitchen Savers seemed to specialize in that, and were not going to try and convince us to start from scratch. The salesman was knowledgeable, explained out re-facing options and showed us how we could improve our existing cabinets with better hardware and replacing shelves with drawers. We were interested in a granite countertop, and they had a granite partner that we could work with directly to pick out our granite. The granite partner was very knowledgeable, was very complimentary of their experience working with Kitchen Savers, and the two seemed to work seamlessly together. When we originally prepared our order, we were told up-front that they were pretty book and that it would be 9 weeks before we would likely be scheduled for install. We proceeded anyway because we believed they were a good choice for what we wanted done. They called us back later and had us scheduled for install in about 4 weeks. We were reminded about the schedule and dates. A week before our week of install began, someone came out to take detailed measurements. The installer was punctual each day, worked hard, cleaned up as much as he could before he left each day. We were told by the salesman that we would have the use of our kitchen for much of the week, but that turned out not to be the case. While our appliances were always available, the sink was removed early in the week so there was no water to use in the kitchen. My wife had concerns about the granite after the install, but the granite partner was very patient in answering my wife's questions and even came back once to address a concern she had. We were/are very pleased with the results.

We love our "new" cabinets. KItchen Saver did an excellent job. Doug our installer was very skilled, professional and respectful. We purchased a new microwave and he happily installed it for us in place of the old one - saving us $189. Once the job was done, we were not happy with a particular detail. Al our salesman volunteered a solution and made it right without us having to ask. We actually found their price to be reasonable. If it is a little higher, it may be because they actually use skilled craftsman and pay a fair wage. For that and excellent customer service, we gladly pay more. Inferior work and bad customer service is never worth the savings because you end up paying with your time which is your one unrenewable asset. Carol who works in the office was also very helpful.

What an outstanding company Kitchen Saver is. They worked with our needs, were flexible to changes, and were outstanding at their installation. They were very professional and the product is wonderful. Our installer, Rene Calm was outstanding at his quality.

KS was in the home Tuesday - Friday. The upper cabinets were totally replaced while the cabinets below were refaced. The countertop wasn't replaced, the floor, nor appliances. I'm 100% pleased, in fact, awestruck with the attention to detail and the quality! The contractor was meticulous! The fit of the cabinet doors and drawers was precise. He cleaned up daily and when completed, ensured the entire kitchen was clean! I honestly cannot tell that the original cabinets were retained! So there's 100% seamless flow between the new upper cabinetry and the lower refaced originals. PLEASED!
