Kitchen Saver

After getting an estimate for a complete kitchen renovation and learning that the process would last at least three weeks (without a functioning kitchen), we decided get an estimate from a cabinet refacing company. We selected Kitchen Savers and learned that they often coordinate with another company that does countertops. The countertop co. would also take care of the new sink installation and related plumbing. For our project, that left only painting and flooring which were less of a concern. When KS came to the house they presented us with a modest range of options, but we found something we liked fairly quickly. When we asked about countertops they explained that we'd be charged a fixed amount and could pick among three grades of granite. If we wanted a higher grade there'd be an adjustment in price which we'd have to negotiate that with the countertop co. We signed the contract provided that we could get out of the deal within a few days if we were unable to find a satisfactory piece of granite. Among the allowed grades of granite there was an adequate selection, but we found a higher graded piece that we thought was exceptional. The added cost was $600+. Overall, we saved ourselves a lot of money and inconvenience by not getting a complete kitchen renovation, and the final product is exceptional. The cabinets are indistinguishable from new ones, the hardware works perfectly, and our granite countertop is stunning. Finally, the work was completed in three and half days - exactly as projected. Everyone involved was completely punctual and easy to work with. We highly recommend them.

The salesman (Al Brauer) was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The installation was led by Tim Mitchell with the help of Ryan Coluard. We can’t say enough good woods about Tim. He is an expert at his trade — a true professional with a very accomplished and interesting personal history. It is obvious that he loves his work. The production manager John Riegert called frequently to check on progress, and even the CEO (Brett Cohen) made sure that we were happy with the installation. We would recommend KitchenSaver to anyone who is seeking a professional kitchen remodel with quality materials and a tried and true system for achieving outstanding results. They are not inexpensive, but very, very good.

Our kitchen refacing was apparently one of the most difficult jobs KS has done because of unique cabinetry work done in the previous update. It took far more effort than they anticipated and a bit longer, but Mike Lilli, one of their most experienced experts, solved every problem (and there were many) in a timely fashion. He kept me informed and gave us a beautiful kitchen update. I highly recommend Kitchen Saver.

They went out of their way to protect our home by covering the floor and other surfaces during the process. The finished product was beautiful. I highly recommend this company.

The results are stunning! Structurally, the existing cabinetry was in good shape, but needed a facelift after 20 plus years of use. The quality of material used by Kitchen Saver is first class and the pride of craftsmanship exhibited by their employees is outstanding. Based on the savings realized from re-facing versus a total renovation, I am able to make other updates. I would definitely use them again.

Refused to schedule an appointment without all homeowners present (despite the fact that I have my wife's full consent to make decisions on this matter). This is typical of companies that employ high-pressure same day sale tactics. No thanks!

Adam Taylor provided an excellent presentation to us concerning our kitchen re-model. He is thoroughly professional and and answered all our questions. He took us through the process step by step and made excellent recommendations. He went out of his way to show us options that we had not considered and he travelled a long way to meet us at our home. KitchenSaver exceeded our expectations.

Great! They were on time- worked hard and cleaned up well. They let us know the time they would appear each morning and they always came when they said. Took the job very seriously and did a great job!!

Tim Mitchell and Ryan Colvard arrived on time the first day, explained what was going to happen and got right to work. each evening they went over the work with us before leaving, if there were any questions they answered them. they were very attentive to detail and the cabinets came out beautifully. I had three doors that I was not happy with and the office staff got right on it and got me replacements within a week of the call. I also had issue with the seams of the counter top to which kitchen saver got the stone company out there for me and, also within a week. All was corrected the first time out. I find everyone that I spoke to willing to help and very polite.

Excellent work and highly recommend! Dave Duxon did an outstanding job and looking forward to cooking many meal in my new beautiful kitchen! :)

Overall we are very pleased, it did take a little longer than was first presented to us the reason for that was because they only sent one person out to do the job. Hussan was the installer and was very professional the entire time. He arrived on time and would stay the full day, he even offered to come out on Saturday to finish up the job but we told him to just come back that following Monday. There were just a couple of things that went wrong, the front cover in front of the sink was not measured correctly and that took a week or so to come in, also one of the pantry doors had a crack in it that Hussan immediately got on the phone with his boss to let him know and get a new one in to replace it. Over all we are very happy with the end result, our kitchen looks beautiful and we have gotten so many compliments on it. Would highly recommend Kitchen Savers. We just had our kitchen refaced using KitchenSaver and couldn't be happier. We had met with several contractors before settling on this company. Our sales rep (Dan Dziewanoski) impressed us with his knowledge and recommendations, even suggesting not to make certain changes that others had recommended due to the expense and lack of need for them. He listened carefully to us, asked great questions, and made sensible recommendations in light of our budget and goals. The fact that he has a background in construction also was very helpful. The "sales" process was highly consultative (I'm in sales, so know the difference). John Riegert (Project Manager) came to our home soon after our meeting with Dan to take all the measurements and our project started earlier than planned (just prior to Christmas) since they were ahead of schedule with other clients (rare, I'm sure). With the exception of some items that didn't come in on time (e.g. Appliance garages and some glass shelves), the work was completed on schedule. The remaining items were then installed right after the New Year (which presented no problems or incovenience for us). Overall, everyone involved in our kitchen project was excellent, including Mike Lilli who was our primary installer/carpenter. We had some challenging areas in our kitchen due to some ceiling water damage and Mike did a fantastic job of making sure that the cabinet met the ceiling properly without unevenness. He pretty much performed a miracle in cosmetically fixing a cabinet/ceiling problem that existed prior to his work. If you want a reliable, professional company with a team of experienced and excellent staff (they're staff, not independent contractors), KitchenSaver is the way to go. They exceeded our expectations and, for a very fair price, took a 30 year old kitchen and made it new again. We went with laminates that are beautiful (made by the Amish in PA).

It has been six months since the job was done and we love the results! Kitchen Saver did such a good job! The quality of the resurface is just absolutely excellent. We had them add shelves around the window and these while seeming pricey at the time have turned out to be so worth it. I think the best recommendation I can make is that one of the upper cabinets was installed a bit off by the builder and KS did not notice until they were well into the job. This would have resulted in a poor result with the resurfacing so KS knuckled down and did a lot of extra work to make the corrections and the result was excellent. So they went the extra mile where it really counted. The whole company was just great. They have very good and happy employees which reflects on the company very well. They followed up after the completion of the job after a couple weeks to make sure we were happy. What a great experience!

We wanted fast in and fast out, and we got that. We also wanted quality work and we got that as well. Kitchen Savers has a method where they evaluate the project from 1-5++ and ours was estimated at a 5, but turned into probably a 6, for complexity. Ken O'Dell is a Navy Vet, and since I am a Army Vet, nuff said. After 800+ kitchens, I think he knows his area of expertise. The sales man when he visits your house will try to close you the first time and offer you a 10% discount (that day)(with a three day window where you need to come in physically to Owing Mills (per the contract) to terminate) and I recommend if you are not in a hurry for the work to be done, to get other estimates from other firms. At least two alternative offers, and go from there, or request Ken Odell specifically. Most the smaller firms will simply not have the staff to get there quickly. Kitchen Saver (KS) as they have twenty installation teams (?) can be flexible, based on the arrival of their materials. i.e. nothing wrong with their work, and the kitchen is good until we leave in five years. KS does a limited 10 year warranty.

The scheduling of all parts of the process went very smoothly. Dave Campbell, the salesman and design consultant, set the right tone from the very beginning with his warm, friendly manner, his knowledge of project materials, the samples he was able to show me, and his patience in the decision process. He was instrumental in helping me choose the right door style and color for my space and the right financing option for me. All of the workers involved were highly skilled professionals. Bernie, who came to measure the cabinets found subtle ways to improve on my current design. Brian, the electrician, was able to find an efficient way to redirect the wiring for my range hood. Danny, the plumber, went out and got a new garbage disposal for me when it was determined my old leaking one was beyond repair. Derrick, a project manager and appliance specialist, replaced my broken oven door handle and leveled my stove for me. And the installer, Hassen Hassen, did a picture-perfect job of refacing the cabinets and installing the beautiful new doors and hardware. I am especially impressed with the outstanding customer service from all involved, including John, the project manager, and Carol and Susan, in the office, who were always available and responded to every situation with their immediate attention. The quality of the work and the materials are far better than anything else I have seen. My cabinets look like brand new cabinets and it took less time and less expense than replacing them. I am impressed with Kitchen Saver, and you will be, too. I highly recommend them.

These guys were great. The estimator, Adam Taylor, was very professional and very thorough. He clearly explained the entire process and provided helpful hints. The technician, Bill Miller, was a real craftsman. He arrived each day at the scheduled time an went right to work. I never saw him take a break. The quality of his work was superb. Every detail of the project was completed to my full satisfaction. The work was completed ahead of schedule.

Adam did a great job explaining the process, talking us through our options, and providing pricing while at our home. We signed a contract while he was on site, but when our floor contractor came to talk about redoing our tile floors, we realized we would need to remove the cabinets to fix an issue with the floor caused by a prior owner. We ended up going with a contractor who would do the floors, supply new cabinets for the kitchen and would redo our powder room. Adam was a real pro when we gave him the disappointing news that we would be cancelling our contract. In other circumstances, I'm sure we would have been very pleased with Kitchen Saver. Seemed like a solid company. They left no stone unturned in their process.

Mike Lilli, our primary (head) installer was phenomenal. He showed up on time, explained what he would be working on for the day and completed work in a meticulous manner. His workmanship was great and attention to detail was spot on. They quoted work completion in 10 - 15 days. Work was completed in 14 days however they could have finished sooner if we did not live in a condo. They spent a lot of time having to wait on the freight elevator and moving their work vehicles for other owners to have access. John Riegert did all of the measurements and cabinet plans. His measurements and 'drafts' were perfect. He was also the 'team leader' who kept us informed of the timeline and he coordinated all of the worker's schedules. The entire company was very professional and easy to deal with

It took 5 days, but Craig was very thorough and prompt. I had no idea what to expect this being my first project like this, but Craig was very skilled, came prepared and cleaned up very well. Craig also inquired about my preferences, such as shelf and knob placements. I am very pleased with the results. As for quality of the cabinets themselves, I am also impressed. Thick, quality plywood with dovetail joints. The selection of cabinet doors is good with an impressive array of colors and wood types. I'm very happy with Kitchen Saver!

After deciding that the price of new cabinets was more than we wanted to spend, we contacted Kitchen Savers to get a price on updating our existing cabinets and drawers. Our salesperson (Al) worked with us to come up with a reasonable plan and the cost seemed fair so we moved forward. We added one new base cabinet which Kitchen Savers provided ahead of time so that we could get the new countertop (which we purchased separately) installed. The remaining cabinets were refaced. Our installer, Patrick, did a very good job and was very pleasant during the week that he was onsite working. During the install, Patrick pointed out that one of the doors arrived with slight flaw and told us that he had already requested a replacement. After Patrick left, we discovered another door that had a slight mark on it and I called Kitchen Savers. The service department was easy to work with and within days they had replaced both of the damaged doors. We now have an updated kitchen and are pleased with the final result.

I don't have enough superlatives to express how pleased I am with the work KitchenSavers did on my 35 year old cabinets. They are now much more functional and structurally sound. From start to finish, every contact with the company was a pleasure. The followup after the job was greatly appreciated as well--after living with the rollouts a few weeks, I wanted to change the placement height from my original decision. If they hadn't reached out to me, I probably would have just lived with it. The company made the change pleasantly and quickly, and at no additional charge! I whole heartedly recommend this company, their employees, their values and ethics, and the quality of their products and workmanship.

They came out in two days and fixed everything, and it was all under warranty. Best customer service of anyone I use. Rick is great.

Bernie the precise expert engineer spent several hours measuring, Quite impressive. Bill, the quiet, steady pro was with us for 4 days installing with precision the cabinets. When he left, we felt that a part of our family was missing! We are extremely impressed with the attention to detail throughout the project. The team of experts worked together in perfect harmony. Exceeded our expectations. We LOVE our new cabinets.
