Description of Work: So the price includes inspection, diagnosis and repair. We have had some issues with our HVAC system in the past and we decided to have it fixed once and for all. Of the bat we knew the could be a possible leak because we have filled it with R22 free-on which is very expensive on two occasions. So we knew this was going to be a pricey fix, but to finally nip it in the bud. So they came gave as an estimate of a repair for a leaky Indoor coil. Luckily for us the indoor coil was still under warranty so the fix was for labor, replacement of indoor coil and 8 pounds of R22. All in all they were efficient, timely and professional. The problem is fixed once and for all and i will use their service again. Hopefully not anytime soon.

 + -1 moreI got three estimates before deciding to use this company, and selected them based on cost and also the proposal provided, which detailed all work to be done, all parts, and installation steps - no other company provided this level of professional detail; a detailed warranty was also included with the proposal. The installation of the new heat pump was super from start to finish. The technicians arrived on time, and got right to work. After the old system was removed, the new system was installed and tested. The job was completed on time and on budget. The technicians worked quietly, were very professional, explained things as they went about their work, and cleaned up thoroughly after all work was completed. The following week, one of the company's managers came over and carefully reviewed all work to be sure that the installation met company standards and that I was fully satisfied - I appreciated this step as it's not something that all companies do, and I like this interest in making sure that everything was done right and attention to customer satisfaction. The company's office staff completed all paperwork for the manufacturer's warranty and also for the $300 rebate that I have since received. I was, of course, very pleased with both of these and also particularly pleased when I got my first utility bill the month after installation - the new bill was half the cost of the previous month's! I am very satisfied with this company's services and happy to recommend them highly. The cost of the new system also included the first year's maintenance - so in addition to providing excellent service, the cost was more than competitive with that of other companies.

He did not offer me any other options. Chris got the faucet off with a little effort and worked hard to find the needed part. He was very professional, he arrived promptly and did discuss my options. He renewed my faith in this company and I would use them again.
Description of Work: This was a return visit after I was unhappy with previous plumbing visit several weeks ago from this company. On previous visit the plumber was rushed and abrupt and told me he was not able to repair a running faucet in my bathtub. This visit was completely improved, Chris the plumbing supervisor came for this visit.

 + -1 moreThis is the worst contractor I've ever dealt with. They were dishonest and uncooperative. They tried to force me to buy a new furnace by lying about a gas leak. I subsequently confirmed with another contractor that there was no gas leak. Air Plumbing & Heating Solutions just wanted me to spend $3500 on a new furnace, even though my furnace works perfectly fine. They engaged in fraudulent behavior and I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Description of Work: No services were performed. The technician claimed there was a gas leak and then shut off my furnace. For the next several weeks, my house was frozen while I waited for another contractor to come out. For this privilege, I paid Air Plumbing & Heating Solutions $140.

 + -1 moreI received a phone call with an arrival time and the plumber arrived on time and within the original window that I had previously scheduled. Toilet was removed and flange replaced. When reseating the toilet, the plumber noticed the floor was not completely level and went above and beyond by leveling the toilet with shims. He explained to me that this was important to prevent the toilet from moving at all. He told me any movement can cause leaking. They stuck to the quoted price and I'd use them again. If I could sum up my experiences with this company it would be, reliable quality work and I plan to continue using them.

He identified the problem that another company had charged several hundred dollars and make two calls to determine. He patiently explained details to me in terms that I could understand. Although he was unable to fix the major problem with the heat pump, I was so impressed with his professional and lack-of-a-hard-sell approach that I followed up with the company and subsequently bought an entire heat pump replacement system from them. This company definitely deserves the high marks they have on Angie's List!

 + -1 moreEach person I had contact with in the company was polite (a big plus these days) and the service was completed timely. It was clear that the repairman understood my system. He also did not creep me out (perhaps a weird thing to comment on, but there are some repair-folks that you really end up wishing you didn't invite into your home).
Description of Work: A piece of my heater was broken. I don't remember what it was called. But he showed me how it was broken and advised me on the cost trade off of repairing it or replacing it. Based on his advice, I decided to repair it and hopefully gain a few more years of service from the heater. The repair was about 6 months ago, and the heater is still working fine.

 + -1 moreThey were scheduled to arrive between 1PM-4PM, but they ran late. They did notify me they were running late. They arrived close to 5PM. They also told me they gave me a discount since they ran late, however I had no way to verify any discount, as the bill was not itemized. I had no way of knowing what was labor, parts, diagnostic or discount. If I got a discount it was not reflected on my bill. The technicians told me they could not repair the leak in the bathtub due to old fixtures that they could not loosen. I asked what were my alternative options. They seemed in a hurry to finish and leave and I did not feel I got a satisfactory answer for any options. They vaguely mentioned a few things, but didn't really seem interested. I was not given information on cost of these options although I did ask. I used this company last year for an air conditioning problem and for that visit I was very satisfied. So this experience was very disappointing.
Description of Work: Checked running faucet in bath tub; checked toilet that was unsteady and wobbling; repaired toilet tank that wasn't holding water.

The repairman was nice and professional. I wish the company had tried a little harder to get the part and repair the furnace the same day, but was overall very pleased and will use them again.

 + -1 moreWe had out initial visit from a tech. He was polite and professional and serviced the furnac and got it working again. It stopped workign 2 days later and was diagnosed to be a a faulty control board, which they came back and replaced promptly. I was so happy with this company I asked them to give me a quote on some upgrades. Alan came and spent about 2 hours with me reviewing our entire system (this is a new house for us but 50 years old) and advising what projects we should do now and which could wait. Alan had great advice and we decided on a cource of action, which included replacing our hot water heater, replacing our circulation pump, repairing some leaking pipes, and adding a showerhead into a bathroom. They quoted, performed the work and stuck on budget. They were polite and respectful and nice to work with. These guys are our new HVAC, plumbing vendors. I highly recommend.

 + -1 moreDuring initial inspection, the service person (Carl) corrected faulty wiring done by a previous company, explained what he corrected, explained the condition of my AC and required maintenance, and explained the maintenance services provided by the company. The winter maintenance tech quickly serviced my heating system and let me know (to my relief) that my furnace was in good shape. He gave me a few pointers on between service maintenance.
Description of Work: I originally signed up (through Angies List) for a Furnace/AC inspection in July 2012. The service was so professional I decided to sign up for a maintenance program with the company. The furnace service occurred 21 January 2013. On both occasions personnel were punctual, professional, and provided educational tid-bits on how to best maintain my heating/AC system. The company is very understanding when it comes to scheduling maintenance service. They will make a reasonable effort to work within your schedule.

I had received three other estimates prior to joining Angies List. After coming out to take a look at my current system, the A/C died awhile ago. Jeff Brewer provided me with a proposal that wasn't the cheapest but seemed to provide better service than most. I am extremely happy with my choice, they truly under promised and really over delivered from arriving on time and finishing earlier than expected. They laid down paper in order not to track dirt in. When Jeff came by to review his guys work, he wants to send them back out because the pipes are not perfectly straight which I thought should a lot of concern for all things from aesthetics to installation.

 + -1 moreOur then current 17 year old system had developed leaky air conditioner coils, and the repair was not going to be inexpensive. I got a quote from the Company who was servicing the unit, a Company who had become less reliable over time in providing good, and reliable service. So, I turned to Angie's list to provide alternatives. I considered several for quotes, but settled on Air Solutions, based upon reviews and my personal experience with my conversations with the office. The initial, and all future, appointments were kept to the letter, and the attitude and expertise of the rep (Jeff) and ultimately, the installers, was first class. There was no up-selling pressure and all applicable rebates and Angies' coupon were accepted in stride as expected. When the mfg. did not supply the same level rebate on the unit itself, Air Solutions made an adjustment in the final deal. The unit has been operational now for a few weeks, and we have yet to get a bill, so we can't tell if our bill will be lower. However, three things are noticeable - (1) we can keep the house at a 1-2 degree lower temperature and feel just as warm (2) the unit is much quieter when the heat does come on (3) the upstairs temperature is much closer to the main level than in the past. Overall, so far we are extremely pleased with the Air Solutions experience and the product they supplied. We will update this review as warranted.

 + -1 moreOverall everything went well. We left the country for 2 weeks in October while they worked on the AC as the estimate was for 2 weeks to finish. There was still a few days of work to be done after we got back, but that was not too surprising based on the scope of the job. The cost did not include the electrical work. The city inspector who came out did a thorough inspection and complimented the job.
Description of Work: The company installed 2 Mitsubishi minisplits in our first floor, one in TV room off the kitchen and furnace room, and one in the dining room. Also installed traditional Lennox central AC in 2nd and 3rd floors with outlets in 5 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room and large sunporch. Lennox air handlers were installed in the attic above the 3rd floor. We have a large 100 year old house with steam radiators and have never had adequate heat in the first floor where the furnace is. The minisplits both cool and heat this floor and for the first time in 28 years we don't have to close off our dining room and sunporch in the winter or bundle up in blankets in the TV room off the kitchen. The Lennox AC on the upper floors also acts like a heat pump in winter and is warming the sunporch so we are finally using it in winter. The minisplits were installed in July and were fantastic for cooling the lowest floor. The other AC was installed in October so did not need AC much although it worked perfectly when tested. Jeff designed the systems layout and we had chosen this company partly because of a previous review on how he measured the house before designing. He and his crew had a major challenge because of the size of the house and almost all the ceilings and walls were thick plaster, with no ductwork anywhere. The work done was impeccable, everything was cleaned up completely, with no problems. Jeff spent time patiently answering our questions before and after the contract was signed, also gave instructions and demonstrations on using the system. His assistants worked in attics and crawlspaces and performed miracles. We can't praise them highly enough for the quality of the work. After 3 previous companies came in with estimates ranging as high 41 K, we were also pleased with Air Plumbing and Heating 's reasonable price.
