Description of Work: I spoke with Kurt 3 times regarding repairs at a house I own. Each time he assured me he would be out within the week to view the deck and give me an estimate. Each time he failed to show up. He did go on and on about how thorough his cleaning and repair process was, but I didn't get to see that in action as he never called me to follow up or did the estimate.

+ 1 moreKurt is one of a handful of contractors whose price did not go up after looking at my house. (I have a larger than normal home.) His is honest and has integrity -- I will definitely hire him in the future.
Description of Work: My deck was not stained/finished properly by another individual. I wanted to have it restored, if possible. Kurt responded to my questions and was very informative. He came out on a Saturday to look at the deck. Kurt gave an honest, informative opinion. We decided not to have the deck restored.

Description of Work: This company had a deal on Angie's List for house power washing. I had my house done and paid additional to have a slate patio cleaned. I felt what I paid was reasonable, but when I recommended them to a friend, the estimate given them was almost triple what I paid for a similar sized house. It was almost as if the high price was given because they did not want to take on this job. My friend went elsewhere.

+ 0 moreKurt was easy to reach via email or telephone. Apprised us of his approach to stripping our deck of its horrible paint coating and was upfront of the general cost during his first visit. He did need to be reminded to provide a specific contract upfront. Otherwise, deck restoration work progressed quickly once weather conditions permitted start and Kurt finished the large project within a few days.
Description of Work: Contractor extremely meticulous with his work; truly enjoys a challenge and knows his craft. Schedule is tied to weather but when started, finished work very quickly. Saved our newly built deck that was ruined by us using a Behr deck paint. Kurt removed every spot of the horrible product from our large deck, tackled the mildew coming out of the wood and applied a significantly better quality and more aesthetically pleasing stain. Not just restored our huge deck investment but made it into the deck that we had dreamed it would look like from the beginning. Since our project was a difficult restoration, cost was high but we are very content in gaining the deck we wanted.
