Great showroom and knowledgeable staff. The only glitch was that they referred us to a local contractor for the installation work. The contractor was slow and unresponsive to e-mails. Before the project was completed it became clear we had bought more tile than needed. OCKB let us return some unopened tile boxes for a refund. However, the subcontractor cluttered up our garage with his debris that we had to clean up ourselves. After the clean up we discovered additional unopened tile boxes that OCKB would not let us return.

Hi [Member Name Removed], just read your review. I had my delivery man got to your garage and pick up what was left inside to return. I did not know there was more tile in back to pick up with other materials. He was instructed to pick up what was out front and not rummage through your other material in back of garage. We allow 5% waste for tile to be left at job just because manufactures change tile all the time. Sorry for any misunderstanding . Brian Flurer (owner)

I did it just as well by myself finding a picture online. They did the measurements. The guy was a little rude. They never came out, they emailed me the plan. It took them about two weeks to send it to me. I am not going to buy from them.

I apologize for any miss understanding . We design kitchens and Baths not additions or homes. Without any blueprints for addition it is hard to know what is going to fit in your bath design, but we did one for you anyway in good faith . When you have your blue print for addition we will be glad to see what will fit in your Bath design. Thanks, Brian Flurer (owner)

Very Well - Brian and Emmy of OCKB provided exceptional service in both the selection of the bathroom tile, vanity, glass shower door and related materials as well as the plans/drawings of how the finished product would look. Joe D. of the installation team did a great job on the construction of the bathroom as well as addition general construction work that was needed. I will use again for future projects as we complete the remodel of the house.

Description of Work: This was a huge job. Complete Kitchen, entrance hallway, 1/2 bath and laundry room rennovation. If we had a need for another rennovation in another home we would consider them but the materials were middle to high end and very expensive for this job. The labor was also expensive and could have gone faster if he wasn't doing other jobs at the same time or had another worker involved more. Most of the work was done by a single worker.

Thanks so much for comments. With doing solid cherry cabinets and quartz stone tops, appliances and porcelian ties through out makes that a high in kitchen and it turned out beautiful. Joe the installer did most of work to keep the cost down instead of using subcontractors. Large jobs like that take a lot longer than standard kitchens to finish.

OCKB are high quality, high integrity business people. They were on time, and very detailed in their quoting process. Ultimately, their pricing was more than 30% higher than our other two quotes for the same projects, so we chose to go otherwise. I have full confidence they would have done a great job.

We wanted to update our bathrooms in our beach condominium. However, due to personal constraints,we could not spend a lot of time looking for materials. We needed a turn-key operation and this is what we got. Our very able installer, Brad Jung, suggested contacting Ocean City Kitchen and Bath, to order the materials. We had one appointment with the owner, Brian, that lasted for an hour and a half. During this time, we made our initial selections including tile, paint, and fixtures. Brian sent a quote via email with prices and item descriptions. The order was fine tuned by talking to Brian on the phone and getting his advice on alternatives, and ways to reduce cost. Ocean City Kitchen and Bath has a full service showroom for kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I had two other bids before contacting OCKB, but they made it so much easier than the other companies where there were unknowns. Brian was easily accessible via telephone and email. He is very knowledgeable about remodeling, and steered us in the right direction for our particular property. We heeded his advice, and are thoroughly pleased with the new look of our two bathrooms.
Description of Work: OCKB provided materials for remodeling two bathrooms in an Ocean City vacation condo. Materials Included new vanities, medicine cabinets, shower tile, shower door, mirror, light fixtures. Installation was performed under a separate contract with an installer. We kept our existing floor tile, toilets, and bathtub.

Two bathrooms were remodeled---a master bath and guest bath. Existing vanities, toilets and ceramic floors were retained. I replaced vanity tops, medicine cabinets, vanity light fixtures, bathtub and shower, and plumbing/bathroom and vanity hardware. I visited the OCKAB showroom to look at and select samples of materials. Brian Flurer was very helpful, courteous and professional. I could bring tile and vanity top samples home which was also very helpful. Not all materials were available in the showroom so I consulted the internet and visited plumbing and electrical showrooms to get more information or see some of the materials first hand. Brian recommended Brad Jung Tile Installation to do the installation work. Both visited my home to see and estimate the job. Brian Jung provided timely and excellent workmanship. (See a separate review on Brad Jung Tile Installation) The materials were delivered to my home Sept. 24, 2013. (It took 2-4 weeks for the materials to come in once OCKAB placed the order.) The installer also arrived on the same day to begin work. The master bathroom was done first. The shower (with acrylic walls), vanity top, light fixture, and medicine cabinet were removed, and new ones were installed. The new vanity top was quartz stone; the acrylic shower was replaced with ceramic tile and a clear glass swing door, and the new plumbing/bathroom hardware (Moen) and light fixture were brushed nickel. Once the master bathroom was completed, the guest bath underwent the same process. Ceramic tile was installed around the new tub. During the work, it was discovered that an insufficient number of 2" X 2" tiles had been ordered by OCKAB (for the shower floor and striping on the bath and shower walls.) More were ordered which took about three to four days for delivery, but then it was found that the tiles came from the wrong color lot and had to be re-ordered again which took another three to four days. The installer completed other work on the job, but then had to suspend work until the materials came in. The installation work was completed Oct. 16. On installation of both medicine cabinets (Nutone), it was found that each had a small chip on one of the door mirrors so the doors had to be reordered. It took more than a month for the doors to come in so the job was completed in total Nov. 7. In all, the work went very well. Brian was very helpful in the selection process and made every effort to answer my questions and accommodate my requests. He recommended a top-notch installer, and they seemed to work well together. I had two contracts: one with OCKAB for materials and one with Brad Jung for installation. The only issues were the delayed materials (ceramic tile because of an insufficient amount ordered by OCKAB) and the defective medicine cabinets (which was not OCKAB's responsibility). I also had to closely follow-up with OCKAB to ensure that the correct materials were listed in the contract, and I had to follow-up to find out when the reordered doors were coming in. I did not get second estimates on the materials or installation so I can't really comment on the price other than to say it was more expensive then I expected. The cost listed in this review is for materials only. The installation cost was separate. I did experience sticker shock on the cost of the materials, especially the plumbing and bathroom hardware; however, OCKAB assisted me with selection of materials and handled all the ordering of the materials for which I am thankful, and they did give me a small discount. I am very pleased with the work and would definitely use OCKAB for future jobs.
Description of Work: Ocean City Kitchen and Bath (OCKAB) assisted in remodeling of a master bath and guest bath. They recommended the contractor to do the remodeling work, assisted with choice of materials, and secured the necessary materials.

The bathroom renovations at our vacation home went well. The home was built in 1966 so not a lot of room for extensive renovations. We decided to keep the existing footprint and update the fixtures. I had been trying to deal with other OC merchants for bathroom renovations only to hit dead ends, delayed communications, and people not willing to work with us on a small project. Was great working with Brian at their showroom. Everything we needed was in one location and he was helpful in making suggestions to materials that looked good and fell within out budget. His subcontractors were attentive to detail and completed the renovations without any major issues. His tile sub-contractor Brad did a nice job with new shower surround including blue glass inserts. My only regret now was not replacing the old cast iron tub. It was an odd size and I thought it would better to re-glaze it in place. Had one issue that was promptly handled by the re-glazer (Dale, who is also great to work with, was out there the next day to address the issue). Have had a self inflicted chip with the re-glaze and concerned now about what may come in the future. We may have paid a little more with OC Kitchen and Bath, but, being out of town and having dedicated people who responded to our inquires promptly and receiving a high quality of work were worth it. Thank you.
Description of Work: Bathroom #1 Replaced old shower stall in bathroom. Bathroom #2 Replaced Vanity bottom and top. Removed old Tub surround and replaced with Tile. New sliding shower/tub door. New faucets. New Ventilation fan. New toilet. Re-glazed the existing cast iron tub.

I met several vendors at a home show and interviewed three. I selected OCKB because the rep, Brian Flurer, was the most responsive, and was extremely knowledgeable. OCKB does the design and helps customers pick out the materials which the customer buys through OCKB. OCKB works with a contractor who actually does the installation. The customer contracts separately with OCKB and with the contractor. OCKB has a wonderful showroom where you can see cabinets, flooring, tile, counter top materials, shower doors, etc. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. We were impressed that they took us to several projects OCKB and the contractor were working on, which allowed us to see the quality of the work, plus gave us some ideas for our own project. OCKB loaned us samples of materials so that we could put them in the condo and see how they all looked in place. The result was a design that matched our (very high) expectations. Like all remodeling projects, there were glitches, but OCKB worked to get things done to our satisfaction. While most of the construction work was done in a timely manner, there was an issue with water temperature in the fancy shower we had selected that took a bit longer than we anticipated to resolve, but in fairness to OCKB, this was the contractor's responsibility, and in fairness to the contractor, we were not pushing him to get it done. That said, we liked the contractor and felt his work was very good. The painting and tile work were the best we've experienced. We would definitely go back to OCKB. We wish Mr. Flurer did work in our home neighborhood!

I was impressed with this company from the first meeting. They were responsive and understood exactly what it was I wanted to accomplish and what the budget constraints were. Hi (deleted member name), thanks so much for your review on Angie's list . I had no idea you were going to do that and thanks for your Business. Brian Flurer
We were also pleased with Brian?s product lines, his assistance in designing the spaces, and helping us select the best items for our project and budget. We were very pleased with Joe's installations, and how well he and Brian worked together. They were also unfailingly pleasant, helpful, and accommodating with our need to save on costs, where possible. The process was surprisingly smooth, and the project stayed on budget and very close to the estimated completion date. Both Brian and Joe were quick to respond to our questions and concerns about materials and construction progress. Both assured us that we could contact them if additional questions arose after the job was finished, which we did with a couple of minor problems that came up after installation. True to their word, they addressed the issues quickly and completely. As a side note, our brother-in-law who is very familiar with construction and lives in Ocean City, agreed to be a nearby contact and check on the project in our absence. He only had good things to say about the work when he visited the site. If you need work in Ocean City or nearby communities, we give my highest recommendations to Brian and the OC City Kitchen and Bath staff, and to Joe, the contractor. Our only wish is that they were located closer to Alexandria. [member name removed] [member information removed]
Description of Work: We own a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo in Ocean City, Maryland that was sorely in need of renovation (gut and reconfigure the kitchen with all new components, replace flooring throughout most of the unit, remove “popcorn” ceiling, reconfigure a closet space into two closets, and replace cabinetry, toilets, sinks/vanities, and bathroom floors). Ocean City is about 150 miles from our home in Alexandria, Virginia, and we were concerned about working with a contractor long distance. After checking with other renovation companies in the area, we met with Brian Flurer, the owner of Ocean City Kitchens and Bath (http://www.ockba.biz/). Joe Deinlein, the owner of Marlin Home Improvements (8466 Ascot Place, Delmar, MD 21875 (443) 497-3459) is Brian’s contractor. Joe and Brian worked together with us on the design, and Joe did all the demolition and installations, while Brian supplied the materials. Joe supplied the contract through which the work was done.
