We are a Maryland Plumbing & Heating service company located in northeastern Baltimore County. Founded in 1980, by master plumber, James C. Berndt, we offer a full range of professional installation and repair services to fulfill residential, commercial and new construction needs.
I have now learned that having a clogged main sewer line is a job that separates the "handyman" plumber from a real professional like Jim's.

Jim is fantastic! He came out to assess the issue (not charging us for his time) and after we got the parts in, came over and spent nearly 4 hours replacing a hose under our kitchen sink and installing two faucets in our upstairs master bathroom. He's punctual, careful, thorough, and all around professional in every way. I would recommend hiring him to anyone.

awesomely. We had the internals of a fixture break and had to turn off all the water to the house. They came out that night to assess the problem, and were able to make space to come out and fix it the next day. They didn't want to use Home Depot parts we had purchased, and showed us the difference in the plastic pieces (the one that ended up breaking) compared to the one they were using (metal parts). We asked them to walk us through the rest of the plumbing in the home, they found an outdoor faucet that was faulty, showed us the problem, gave us the opportunity to either fix it or let it ride. Really great team, very informative. I never felt they were trying to make money off of us. They were really just informative and ready to do the work if we asked them to.
Description of Work: New fixtures and showers in two bathrooms. INstalled new shutoff valves in one bathroom. Rebuilt faucet in two sinks. Installed a washer drain. Replaced outside spigot.

I highly recommend Jim's Plumbing and Heating. They go above and beyond every time I have called them for service, no matter how big or small the job. They are always easy to get in touch with, they are extremely knowledgeable, professional, accessible, and efficient. I have been using Jim's Plumbing for several years now and will continue using them in the future as well as referring my family and friends. They provide excellent and prompt service at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly, courteous and very easy to work with. They are always on time and seem to genuinely care about their customers.
Description of Work: We had no water in our commercial building and they helped us to restore service.

Description of Work: I have used Jim's Plumbing for years for a variety of plumbing issues, large and small. They have always been prompt, courteous and left the work area clean (sometimes cleaner than it was when they got here). They have performed two installations for me: A water heater and a sump pump (in both cases, hauling the old one away). Pricing was reasonable and fair. While I do not recall specifically, or even generally, the cost, you can bet I would remember exactly how much I had paid if I had thought they were overpriced or had underperformed!

We bought a small gas stove from Sears, and instead of going with their installation people, we contracted with Jim's Plumbing and Heating because the access pipe for the gas needed to be moved a bit to allow the stove to sit against the wall. (Sears would not have done that.) The technician came out and did that and gave us a good price. For some reason that I don't remember, we had the flexible pipe on the old stove. The technician (at our suggestion) told us how to connect the flexible pipe to the new stove. However, we couldn't get the pipe off the old stove, and we ended up twisting it into a terrible mess. We had to call Jim's back to remove the pipe from the old stove and install the new one. He took it off with something slightly more than a flick of his wrist, and went out to get another one. He charged us for the time to install and the transportation time, and in his discussion with the financial person got her to allow him to not charge us for the extra visit. I've attached flexible pipe before, so it cost about twice what we expected, but probably that was because we didn't do it right.
Description of Work: Moved the gas supply pipe several inches with an elbow toward a cinderblock wall, adjusted it so it would be the right height, returned and installed the flexible pipe for a new gas stove. I am really, really unsure about the date and the cost is extremely approximate. My receipts are not accessible at this time.

We moved into an old house that needed some TLC and Rich from Jim's helped us out a ton. Not only did he do a lot of work in a short period of time (1/2 day), but he was also very courteous and helpful with his other hits for fixing up the rest of the house. His knowledge helped us to install a new tub surround correctly on our own and he even came back to help solder on the new shower fixtures days later. I would recommend Jim's to anyone who needs a reliable plumber who is going to give you more than you expect.
Description of Work: Changed icemaker pitcock to a real valve, repaired and replaced tub/shower plumbing, repaired washer hookup, repaired/replaced 2 faucets, installed 2 emergency turn off valves, installed dishwasher/icemaker.
