Description of Work: Last summer, 2013, I wrote a very positive review of Heartwood. Over the winter I scheduled another service, which they missed. I have tried to reschedule with them, but have finally given up. I have called and spoken several times to the owner and to a worker, but they never follow up with an appointment. Since my November attempt, they have never been in my yard because of their own problems. I also found out Bill, whom I liked very much, is no longer with the company. I suppose they still do good trimming, but be sure to really confirm the appointment with them.

Description of Work: I asked Heartwood to quote on cutting down a large dead willow tree in our back yard. They were one of five companies asked to provide a price, and their price was the lowest in the group (a fifth company never followed up after viewing the tree). When Bill was here the first time he spent a considerable amount of time looking at the whole yard and offering some excellent pointers for ongoing tree & shrub maintenance. That was a little extra service I really appreciated. He is obviously very familiar with the plants in this region. Because of ongoing rains they had some challenges getting the job scheduled, but eventually came at the appointed time and did a fast and professional job of clearing away the tree. They also cleaned up branches and raked on the ground. This was important because much of the work being done was through my neighbors yard. They had to bring the chipper machine onto my neighbors grass, but they laid down heavy plywood to minimize the impact. We scheduled for them to take out a second tree a few days later, which also went well. One thing I was looking for was for the hired crew to take appropriate safety precautions. They climbed the trees with good harnesses, wore helmets, ear protection and goggles, and did not appear to horse around while doing a pretty dangerous job. They make quick work of a dead tree.

Description of Work: Pruned tree between our property and our neighbor's. Storm damage . They came out quickly for an estimate but since it was not an emergency, we agreed to schedule/connect in 3 weeks. Three turned into 4 but they did respond to a follow-up call and came shortly thereafter. Did a good job.

Description of Work: We used Heartwood Landscaping and Tree for removal of a tulip poplar tree from our fence.
