From the beginning the owner Rick was extremely upfront and pleasant to speak with even after hours. He made accomodations to work with my schedule immediately (did not need to call me back at a later time) and sent one of his workers Kevin out to visit. He gave me the very reasonable pricing (much better than the contractors electrician that we are currently using) upfront over the phone so that I as a potential client could make and informed decision and did not try to get to my home and quote me a ridiculous price as many electricians would do. Kevin talked me through everything that he was doing and even made some suggestions on how to fix some other minor issues without me feeling he was making a hard sell. He worked the entire time even when his cell phone kept ringing. For these reasons I will be calling him back. I actually have more work to do on the inside and outside next week and will definitely be calling Rick the next time. My wife and I thought wow we wish all services were that easy. Great service, fast response, and Kevin is awesome. Just really great overall experience with K&H.

I needed two interfaces installed in order to connect two portable generators to my home's electrical system. The house is all electric and is on well water/septic. I have two electrical panels in the house. K&H provided the appropriate size and type interfaces for the amount of amps/watts needed. I contacted K&H at the beginning of the week in which a major winter storm was forecasted. Rick requested some photos of the panels and information on the generators which were provided. Rick then said he would do his best to get the interfaces installed before the storm. On the day of the storm, Rick called to confirm that I still wanted the installation done and then sent an electrician (Kevin) over to do the work. Despite the fact that Kevin had to work in the snow, he was able to get the work done quickly. I realized that I did not have the proper 4 wire extensions to run between the generators and the interfaces and K&H sent another person over with the connector cables. Kevin took time to go over how to switch between home power and interfaces. We tested the system to ensure that it worked. K&H also provided step by step directions on stickers on the electrical panels to ensure that the process was followed correctly. The system installed in such that the interfaces can only be used when the house power is shut off at each panel, which is helpful. This is the second time I have used K&H Electric. Rick has always been responsive and helpful on the front end and the technicians have always been efficient and friendly as well. I will use them for other projects in the future.

When we bought our house, the center island, which is quite large, inexplicably came with no electrical outlets, even though there are two coolers installed. We had K & H Electric install one GFE outlet. They also set up a dedicated overhead light above the kitchen sink. The way our kitchen was set up, there were many lights, and sometimes we don't want to turn on all the lights, such as just one over the kitchen sink. They isolated one existing kitchen light over the sink, and ran it to an existing switch plate that controlled lights above and below our kitchen cabinets. That is now a three-switch plate. K & H was VERY responsive to my needs, from initial contact, to setting up the estimate, to the actual work itself. Given the scope of the work, I think the price was very fair. We're definitely going to keep K & H in mind for future electrical work.

Very prompt. Did very neat and safe work. Paid a lot of attention to details. Explained what needed to be done and why. Was very knowledgable. I will use this company again. Came on a holiday weekend to ensure that work was done on time to open the pool. They were great.

On 4/22/15, my husband and I noticed the the lights in our entire house were flickering. During the night, I woke up to hear one of our GCFI outlets trip. I called K&H Electric around 7a and left a msg. I rec'd a call back in about 40min and they were at my house around 8:30a. The technician, Kevin, told me that as he was coming in to my neighborhood, he saw another electric company truck leaving our neighborhood. He checked the panel voltage, meter voltage and grounds. Found a slight power flux. Kevin called the owner of the company, told him about the other company truck that was in my area and who our electric service provider (BGE) was. They came to the conclusion that the power flux was not a problem with the house but possibly a problem with BGE. So, he recommended that anything of expense should be on a surge protector, just in case there is a major surge. About a 1/2 hour after the techician left, the owner called to let me know that it was, in fact, a problem with BGE and that about a 3 mile radius was affected. Happy that this company followed thru and called BGE and kept me informed.

The owners son performed the work. He did a very good job and my wife and I are very happy with the results. The electrician worked efficiently and smartly, not rushing but also not dragging. The job took longer than anticipated due to the type of joists and bracing location - something that could only be determined at the time. Rather than open up a couple of extra holes in the ceiling (which would need to be repaired) the electrician was very patient and worked with the existing ceiling penetrations. The joists made the work a bit more difficult and took some extra time but the electrician was able to get things done with minimal disruption. He also took pains to ensure all lights were level and aligned. When billed I was surprised I was only charged for the 1 hour originally estimated (vs the 2 hours it actually took due to the joist complication and issues fishing wires through existing holes). While appreciative I paid for the two actual hours he worked. I will gladly call again in the future for any electrical needs.

I called K&H and received a return call back roughly 15 minutes later from Kevin. Even though it was almost 3:45pm, Kevin said that he could swing by immediately and look at our issues and give us a quote (since they really are electricians and not plumbers.) We had 2 problems to resolve in 2 bathrooms. The first issue was with the hot water in the master, which he couldn't help with, which was expected. The 2nd issue was with our guestroom nozzle where the water comes out of the tub (not the shower head), which was flooding our kitchen below. Kevin took off the nozzle and noticed how much dry rot was there and immediately ran up to Ace Hardware and purchased a new nozzle and came back and replaced it, solving our problem immediately!! We were thrilled we didn't have to wait an additional day to be able to use our showers again (they were already down for 3 days before this.) Kevin's promptness was simply amazing! From calling for a quote to having 1 shower fixed was literally less than 2 hours! My daughter was even potty training and he dealt with all our house craziness with a smile. I would HIGHLY recommend K&H Electric, especially Kevin!

K and H did excellent work at a reasonable price and I would highly recommend them to all. The owners son, Ricky, did the install. He was very personable, courteous and professional; he represents his father's business very well. So you can put credence in my recommendation, I am this kind of customer: I called the permit office to make sure that Kand H is in good standing in the county -- they are. I also asked to see proof of workmen's comp directly from Kand H's insurance company. Rick the owner, was very obliging in getting me this information the same day. Yes, Kand H had workmen's comp. I must say that Rick, the owner, is a very friendly and personable guy. It was a pleasure to have a phone conversation with him, and he scheduled the work to be done the following morning. The electrician (Jason) arrived promptly, worked with me to plan the job (optiomum location and settings) and then performed all the installation work in a completely professional and friendly manner. The work was very hard due to the intense summer heat in the attic but the electrician did not complain. He worked with me to do a check out of the installation and to optimize the directional settings and other operational details. The work was done in a timely fashion. I was also impressed that Jason used the vacuum cleaner upstairs to clean up after himself, without even being asked. The price was fair and reasonable. I plan to have other eleectical projects done at the house and will definitely use this company.

It was wonderful. They are excellent. They are local. For one thing, they are quick; when I call they are here that day or the next day. The pricing is very good. They got the best prices in the county because I shopped around, you know, I got estimates and they are the best.

I met with the owner and described what I wanted and he wrote it all down. When it came to installation, the sizes of the heaters were different than what was contained in the contract but we agreed because it was a wash in price. The problem was they did not have the thermostats I had requested. We waited weeks to get the correct thermostats. Even after they arrived, they were not the correct size for the two rooms that had two heaters on one thermostat so we had to wait again. After they arrived and were installed, one was installed incorrectly and was always on instead of controlled. We could not figure out why our electric bill was so high but just fixing that thermostat has resulted in our electric bill going from $500 a month and 180 percent of the amount used by neighbors to $183 and 85 percent of the amount used by neighbors. I know that it was starting to warm up for spring but given that we are only at the house weekends, that made more sense. However, as of today, half the outlets in the basement still do not work so I have to have someone else come in to locate and fix the problem.

They came out and checked my GFI in March. They replaced it and I also had a kitchen light that wasn't working. They fixed the light. Not only did they do this, but they checked circuit breakers in my breaker box and tightened anything that needed tightened. Jason was my technician. He was absolutely wonderful. In April, I had a problem with my doorbell which had been replaced. In the middle of the night, my doorbell was ringing. I called my HSM and they said that I would have to pay the overtime fee because it was the weekend. I called K and H early in the morning and left a message. The manager called me back and sends someone out because I had smelled something burning. The technician came out, checked out the doorbell, checked the breaker, checked everything. He couldn't find anything wrong. He didn't charge me anything. He checked the light in the kitchen which was still having an issue. I will always call them for my electrical needs.

K and H Electric did work for me on two separate occasions for a total cost of about $350. After receiving a telephone estimate, Jason arrived to install my range hood. He performed the job quickly and skillfully, then explained everything he had done. Before he left that day, he was shown more electrical work that needed to done in my storage room. The next day, an estimate for that additional work was provided and Jason returned to handle the work. The price was more than fair for both jobs and the work was done professionally. It was a real pleasure to find a friendly company that understands what needs to be done, charges fairly, then provides professional and competent service. I plan to call on K and H Electric in the future for all my electrical needs.

Saw K and H on Angie's list. Kevin came out one day later and did all the work listed above . The ceiling fixture was not simple but it was easy for him; did it in record time. The outside fixture needed to be replaced and that also was not easy; it was up three stories and also had two bad inside switches. Boy was I happy. James Rennie

It was truly a pleasure to have Kand H perform some electrical and plumbing work for me. I needed an old non-functioning instant hot water heater replaced. This required changing the circuit breaker sub-panel from 4 30 amp circuits to 3 40 amp circuits and running new wires to the instant hot water heater. It required reworking the plumbing as the in/out for plumbing was located on different sides than the original box. I also requested them to add an in-line water filter/de-calcifier right before the instant hot water heater. Kand H was responsive to all my needs. Their pricing was exactly where it should be, and even though the work extended the estimated hours (by a little) I was still only invoiced for the estimate amount. The employee was able to do both the plumbing and the electric which really streamlined the process. He was courteous, professional, and his workmanship was excellent. He checked numerous times to ensure there were no leaks with the plumbing changes. He also installed special connectors in the plumbing that allow me to swivel the water cut-off switch and the in-line filter to make it easier to get to the two and manipulate them. I highly recommend Kand H and will definitely use them for my future needs.

Went very well! I did not have to lock up my cats as the tech who came was a cat person and treated them great! He was a great conversationalist and explained what he was doing when asked, etc. He arrived 5 min before allotted time (which was fine with me) and the entire job took 1.5hrs.

Everything went very well. The electrician was very friendly. To my amazement, he arrived probably an hour after I called to have work done. I never had such prompt serve ever, In putting the plug in our crawl space, our berber carpet got hooked up in his drill, and a strip of our carpet unraveled,. His boss was on the phone to me before I knew what happened, and he had already contacted 2 carpet companies to come to give me an estimate on new carpet, I found a carpet remnant that I had so he cancelled the first companies and had a carpet repair man here today to patch the carpet. He did an excellent job.

They have been here quite a few times. They gave me a senior discount or an Angie's list discount. I have also used them when the GFCI, which is the ground fault circuit interrupter which wasn't working. They kept working on it until it was correct without any additional charge. They were responsive. No matter when I call them, they came out quickly. They were determined to find the cause of the problem. And, when they didn't find it the first or second time, they didn't charge me anything additional and continued until the found the problem.
