WALNUT FIELDS LANDSCAPING

Terrible - poor workmanship. Owner very unresponsive and finally walked away from making latest correction made May 3, 2017 after telling us he would be back in several weeks to add more asphalt where he cut out a section of driveway. He made this repair to correct for 10 in. band of sand connecting the walk and driveway. This sand had repeatedly washed away. The asphalt he placed apparently was not packed and is constantly gooey when warmed by the sun and hot weather. It is tracked onto our walk and deck. We made repeated calls to phone number on his business card and one he gave us as his cell number - both of which we used in the past. We left many messages asking him to call re the work he did not complete but no response from him. In addition many pavers had settled since installation May 16, 2015 and he raised those when he put in the asphalt. They have settled again. We hired Mr Morgan after Sun Nurseries recommended him for this work.

Jim was very honest and fair priced for the work. We had 3 other contractors provide bids and he was in the middle and we negotiated ways to reduce the cost through better design planning that he suggested. He gave us the schedule of what was to be done and when he would start and finish and he held to it within a day which was due to heavy rain. They did a great job at preserving the shrubs and flowers that had to be temporarily relocated for the work to begin and he replanted them and cleaned up and reseeded the grass and mulched our garden after the wall and patio were finished. I am going to have him come back to replace our front sidewalk as soon as we can get that plan in our budget!!

They were a little high which is why I went with the other company. I didn't know much about the other company, but they had a special on the Angie's List website and that's why I went with them. I feel that if I would've spent more money and gone with these guys it would've been much better. The work he was going to do I think was pretty close to what he was asking for. I didn't want to spend that much money at the time on my yard and that's why I went for a cheaper company. I thought it would be more better, but the plants and all of what it said on the website I didn't get at all. A person from Walnut Fields did call me to ask what happened and I told him frankly that the price was too high. He told me the next time he would try to work around it and see if he could do something. What he quoted wasn't really too high. The plans and everything he was going to give me were really good. I thought it was too high because I wasn't really that experienced with all the plants and the prices. I thought his price was reasonable and I think if I would've negotiated with him a little bit he would've gone down. They were really good and he gave me a diagram drawing of what he was going to do and where he was going to plant each plant. Everything was good and detailed on his plans. It took him a couple of days to respond to me. After he gave me everything he said that he was sorry because he got a little busy and was doing some other things, but once he contacted me and I told him what I wanted everything was on time and his punctuality was really good. I thought he was a professional person.

He did not charge me anything for doing the estimate. He did a nice job. He was very prompt and he called me back. He was here when he said he would come back. He sketched me something for a patio. I was very pleased with him. I will use his services again in the future.

This company was the hardscape subcontractor for a complete re-landscaping project I contracted with Sun Nurseries, Inc. The work was performed over a one-week period and went extremely well. The owner Jim is professional and very easy to work with. He is meticulous about his work and as the hardscaping progressed, he suggested changes to improve the overall appearance and functionality of the walk and retaining wall. Although I had chosen a paver and wall block that he apparently had not worked with before, the end result is very attractive and imposing. Although not part of the contract, at my request, he installed some extra blocks around the heat pump pad to improve its appearance. The sodding and seeding was also very successful and looks great a month later.

He is excellent! They charge by linear foot and labor. Prices are very specific to each job. His quotes are proportional to supplies and labor. I like this man because he does the work himself, he does not subcontract. He is a very good artist!

I MUST SAY I AM OVER SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICES THAT HAVE BEEN PROVIDED TO ME. THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT COMPANY! ON A SCALE FROM 1 to 10 I WOULD GIVE THEM A 15.
