We hired Laura to design and install a garden of shrubs and perennials along the entire front of our house. And the whole process, from start to finish, was an absolute joy! First, we had a detailed in-person consultation, where she asked about our preferences for the garden (colors, size, fragrance, etc.). Then, within a couple weeks, she sent her design drawing, which was beautifully drafted. She selected a diverse set of plants that will bloom at different times of the year, to ensure continual interest through all the seasons. We exchanged a few emails to make some fine-tune adjustments to the plant selection, and she was always full of helpful suggestions. Leading up to the installation day, she worked steadily to source all the plants from a variety of nurseries, securing each one as soon as she found it to make sure that it wouldn't get sold out by the time of planting. She does all the work herself, so there's none of the miscommunication that can happen when tasks are delegated to a crew that may not be familiar with all the things you discussed. We're totally new to gardening, and she was happy to answer my many, many questions about caring for the plants--she's literally a fount of information. And on top of all that, we had fun, stimulating conversations during the installation, which made the experience even more special. We look forward to watching the garden grow and change, and we're excited to have her plant some trees in the fall!

Laura returned my call on the same day I initially contacted her. She clearly understood what I wanted and what was needed to do the job. She was easy to reach when I had questions about the planned work. The new curved stone walkway was completed on time and looks terrific.

Extremely well. Laura from Seven Winds provided design and construction services for a new patio, semi-circular sitting wall, and fireplace. Materials were bluestone and masonry brick to match the existing exterior. Workmanship is of the highest quality. Laura performed nearly all the work herself other than excavation and concrete pouring for the footers. Worksite was kept tidy every day. Laura took the time to understand our design ideas and was open to discussing alterations as the project progressed. Laura really is an artisan and it shows in the quality of her design and work. Recommend without hesitation.

Laura (owner) was responsive, on schedule (allowing for weather) and completed the work as agreed. She was agreeable to a small change to remove extra existing bricks. She did all of the work herself, no other workers, including construction of the trellis and was agreeable to using four posts that I had saved from previous porch renovations that I thought warranted a re-use. She was flexible and easy to work with. It was a pleasant contractor experience.

Front walkway went in perfectly, willow tress stand tall and look great, rain garden lasted all summer with one bush that did die, but was replaced without any questions!

We are a young homeowner couple who are working bit by bit on redoing our yard with new plants and trees, as well as reshaping several plant beds. The work we have been doing for the last two years (and are still doing) has been guided by Laura's very comprehensive plan drawings. When we contacted Laura to ask if she would help us solidify our landscaping wishes, without necessarily performing any of the work herself, her helpfulness and determination was definitely not diminished. She met with us twice to look over our property, take measurements, and talk with us about the colors and shapes we predominately wanted. She also accepted a handful of photos and other loose thoughts that we bombarded her with over e-mail. Within a month, she returned with two great full-color drawings on 36" roll paper and sat with us for over an hour to go over each individual plant and yard area. She absolutely hit the mark as far as selecting beautiful and interesting native plants in the colors we like. We even asked for things that would bloom at different times of the year, and she definitely came through in this area too. All throughout our meetings and e-mails she was polite, knowledgeable and respectful. In the end this experience was well worth it - even though the end result was just pencil on paper, we really paid for access to an obviously deep knowledge of plant selection and layout, and her sharp listening and guidance too.

She's great. I loved her. She's on time. She's professional. Her prices were fair and honest. She worked hard.

We contacted Laura by email. She replied quickly and came out to see the job we wanted her to do. She came up with suggestions of how to maintain our garden and she had great knowledge of indigenous plants and those that would thrive in the area we have our garden. She came on the days we expected her, did a fine job and we have had her back to clean up the fall/spring debris ($500). We will continue to use her services and have recommended her to others.

Laura installed pavers in our backyard. I appreciate that she was the only person who gave us an estimated that encouraged us to not tear up the old cement patio and use it as a base. She was also the only one to provide a drawing with the original estimate. Laura was very responsive and prompt. Loved being able to communicate with her via email and of course we love the end result. Would definitely use her in the future

Went very well, completed task in just 2 days with only one person. Very professional and was extermely knowledable. We would use this company again.

Laura showed up in the morning, right on time, on one of the hottest days of this summer. Frankly, I was worried about her doing the work alone, lifting the heavy stones, putting in gravel, replacing the stones. She finished about 3 pm that afternoon and the work is beautifully done! I am very impressed with her punctuality, her professionalism and her sheer physical ability! Will use her services again, especially since she is careful to protect the environment and use environmentally friendly methods and materials.

I ended up not using Seven Winds because we can't have a lot happening at the same time. She was on time. The proposal that she gave to me had great guidelines on the plants that will work. It was a good experience.

Stress-free. Laura communicated with me frequently, arrived when she said she would, and completed the work in less time than I would have guessed. She left the work areas completely cleaned up. I think her prices are fair, given the high quality of her work and the permanence of the structures built. Again, I would highly recommend her services.

Laura came out to see the site within a days of my initial phone call. I said I wanted some screening in the back yard and she suggested two groupings of plants based on where neighbors' plants were and where I most often sat when outside. The names of the plants were familiar and I had already seen her work on her website, so I trusted her judgment. Her quote and date of proposed installation arrived within a few days. She sent an email a few days before the install date to let me know we may have to be flexible due to the storm Sandy. I let her know on the install date that I didn't have power, in case she wanted to reschedule, but she was fine with that and the install proceeded on the scheduled date. I was very pleased with the results.

I was very impressed with their knowledge of landscaping, but we just chose to go with someone who was less expensive. They didn't charge us for the estimate. The company is owned by a woman, and she is very interested in doing things ecologically correct and organic. She is very into the right kind of plans and materials that go along with the area in which she lives. We were very impressed with her but she just was a little more expensive, and we chose to go with someone who wasn't quite as expensive. I certainly would refer her to other people. I think most people would be able to afford her but our budget was a little lower.

One thing I was impressed with was that it rained one of the days and they came in Thanksgiving to finish the job on time because of that. They were just great.

Laura and her helper did an amazing job. It was a pleasure working with her from start to finish. She showed up on time and listened carefully to what we wanted. She was the only contractor to follow up after her initial visit and was flexible about price when we told her we could not afford her estimate. She picked up the iron fence we bought from the Fedex terminal and the patio bricks that we had sourced from a different location at no extra charge. Her helper arrived every day on time early in the morning and worked the entire day. The project was done in 2 weeks as scheduled. They delivered exactly what was promised and our backyard looks great. Working with Laura was one of the smoothest experiences we've had in terms of dealing with contractors. We plan to call her again when we build a wooden planter for the backyard. She came highly recommended by several people in our neighborhood (Bolton Hill) and the quality of the work speaks for itself.

I read about them on Angie's List. The woman was very nice and professional. I'm sure she knows what she's doing. I got that vibe from her. It's a very professional company that is run by a woman, which stands out. A lot of contractors aren't women. They are very expensive, but I'm sure they do very nice work. However, repointing the front of the building was well beyond our budget. They would do a smaller project very well. The cost was prohibitive. I'm sure that you get what you pay for. You don't want to hire them unless you have a lot of money.

The whole experience was excellent. Laura Adams came to give an estimate and the first thing she said was that the steps didn't look too bad. (The other company that gave me an estimate immediately started talking about completely replacing the steps, a job that would have cost 3 or 4 times as much.) She then proposed a wonderful solution to our beaten up bricks--bluestone treads on the top course which would look great and resist the winter better. Her estimate was very reasonable, she was very professional and pleasant to speak with. She said she could fit us in three weeks later on 5/26/10, and in the meantime, she sent me photos of the different shades of bluestone for me to choose from. She and her crew arrived on the 26th as promised, finished the job in one day, as promised, and did an outstanding job. Laura chose perfectly matched bluestone treads of a substantial thickness and the masonry work was impeccable. The steps are beautiful. I would recommend Seven Winds to anyone, and will certainly use them again if the need arises.
