Description of Work: Note misleading offer.."only $319 for A handyman for a Day." Not so. I got TWO men for 3 hours 15 minutes. One was competent, the other useless. They had not read my emails and photos explicitly describing what I needed done, could not complete what the one competent handyman could have completed in the allocated 6.5 hours. Cost me substantially more than expected. Buyer beware.

Description of Work: Willis Builders remodeled our guest bathroom. The renovation consisted of completely removing everything in the room sans the tub and reinstalling the toilet. We had them replace vinyl tiles with stone tiles; remove tiled shower walls and replace them with cement board overlaid with subway ceramic tiles; paint both the ceiling and walls; install new vanity, sink, mirror, outlets, and overhead lights. For the job, Willis assigned Alencar to work and oversee the job. Alencar also had an assistant Victor with him. Both men were extremely friendly, courteous, clean workers. The men laid out drop cloths over every area that they planned to cross in the house. At the end of each day, the men swept and removed debris to the garage. Overall the finished product is good. I wouldn't say it was excellent. At a quick glance, the tile work looks great; however, upon closer inspection (after they had left) the shower tiles are unevenly laid ( not flat against the wall in several places). Additionally, several of the tiles have scuff marks visible from sloppy wet saw work. I tried to buff the marks out to no avail. Several of the glass subway tiles are also chipped on then edges from not being properly scored and cut. Again, a quick glance gives a false impression. It's a shame too because we spent the most on high quality tiles from a specialty shop. alencar also mentioned that we had extra floor tiles, but those disappeared and likely got scrapped with other debris. Moving to the paint job...Victor did drywall repair with plaster and did an overall good job; however, little areas were overlooked like around the new outlets. The new outlets have smaller faceplates than the old ones. Therefore, the new faceplates don't cover some of the imperfections hidden by the old faceplates. Rather than plaster and smooth out, the area was left rough and painted over. Moving to the toilet...they reinstalled the old toilet as requested; however before reseating the toilet, they left the old caulking hanging from around the base rather than removing it. They were asked to change the overflow cover and drain for the tub. Prior to leaving, I looked at both items and questioned whether they had been changed. I was assured that they had been (I didn't question further because I saw alencar with new ones in a bag earlier in the week). Once I began to cleaning the tub for use I realized that neither had been changed despite being charged for the materials. Finally, I had agreed to pay a haul away fee for the debris. At payment time Alencar told me the final price for the job. I paid him and he began to pack up to leave. He then realized that he forgot about the debris and that he would need to charge me more. At this point, I told him to leave it and I would haul it away to the dump. With all if this said, the final product was good, but not excellent. Part of the quality issue may have been caused by Alencar being focused on his vehicle which broke down on the third day. The third and forth days Alencar had to get a ride. On the fifth day, he got a ride, but was very focused on leaving by lunch to get his car fixed. I think this time pressure caused him to rush several of the last items in the job and thereby forget quality control. It seemed from the moment his car had issues, the quality control began to slip more and more as the week progressed. After they first completed the job, I was likely going to have them return for our master bath renovation. As time goes on and I see more and more little quality issues, I am rethinking whether I should consult other contractors for comparison on the master bath job. No one likes to pay good money to only have to follow behind fixing things that should have been handled correctly the first time. The amount for the total renovation (materials and labor) was $8,500. The renovation took 1 week.

Starting from handyman coupon we purchased from them to the laying porcelain tiles on the main level of our house. Allencar, who worked on all the projects was exceptionally professional, he worked very hard, clean and did an excellent job at every project. We are very happy with the Willis builders!

Description of Work: I purchased a Angie's List Big Deal coupon for $90 for two hours of handyman service. I had two handymen for one hour. Elijah and his colleague came and did a bit of exterior painting for me (the window sill outside under my shutters). They were extremely professional and friendly. I asked them to call be 30 min before they arrived so I could be home from work. They did so. They provided all tools except for the exterior paint. They started painting immediately after arrival and finished within the hour. Great job and my house has a fresh new look. Will definitely call this company for future work on my house.

Description of Work: Matthew was one of the top contenders for our upcoming kitchen remodel. He provided us with a detailed quote and was patient and comprehensive in his explanations of the job and all it would entail. We ended up going with another contractor because we decided to go a little more lower-end on the job. I would highly recommend anyone looking into a remodel meet with Matthew and see what he has to offer.

Description of Work: We have used them before in the past. There was a minor issue that needed attention. They came back, looked at it, and took care of it. It was a positive experience.
