 + 0 moreI recently had a pine tree removed on the side of my townhouse and originally the tree company did not do a good job with the clean-up after grinding the stump and surface roots. After searching Angi's, I reached out to several companies to haul the remaining debris, regrade, and provide a landscape design for installation and all the other companies followed up but HL Design. Catherine was plesant to talk to when scheduling the appointment. David came out to meet with me (10/6) and assess the area. He provided me with some helpful information and explained what could be done to clean-up the mess left behind and prepare the area for a flower bed; however, it is 10/16 and there has been no follow-up. I remember another customer having this experience in the reviews I read and was hopeful I would not have the same experience.

 + 1 moreWe had a small paver patio installed (13x20ish) by HL Design Landscaping and it was absolutely the best experience. Dave and Catherine came to our townhome and walked us through various pavers and stone options then explained the installation process. They sent a VERY reasonable and competitive estimate that was in our budget. The crew came and did the installation in one day. They were efficient, polite, professional and did an incredible job. The patio looks fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Dave, Catherine and Crew could not be any more nicer to boot. An exceptional company and we can see why they've been in business as long as as they have been. We cant recommend HL Design Landscaping enough. Thanks!

 + -1 moreThey seem to have done a good job. They gave me a competitive price and very attentive. The only thing they have to do is follow up in the spring with a sealing on the paver brick after it has settled. They were very personable and I had a couple other contractors come out but this company went out of their way and made extra effort to make me happy.

 + -1 moreThey are professional, it's a couple that own the company I believe. The wife and husband came together and they walked me through the whole yard and explained to me what might happen, what should be done including the dead trees need to be cut. They also remind me by December 31st a new law came out if I cut one tree I need to plant another tree. It was all good the courtesy they provided. I was expecting them to give me a written estimate, a detailed break down but I never heard back from them. I know they were very decent and professional. The husband is a certified Arborist. They know the trees. They are trustworthy.
Description of Work: I used HL Design Landscaping gave me an estimate for landscaping, cut the trees, do the lawn.

 + -1 moreWas very happy with service. Small crew was composed of extremely hard workers with obvious experience. Crew worked diligently until the job was done (almost 12 hours). Courteously kept our walkway clear of debris throughout the entire process. Worked safely and quickly considering the close proximity of the tree to our house. Job was reasonably priced for a high level of professionalism. Would recommend to all.

Description of Work: For outside of our sun room, HL Landscape Design designed and built a large slate and stone-faced landing and stairs which included substantial wrought iron railings. This led to a circular paver patio with a herringbone pattern which they also designed and installed. Dave, the owner of the company, is also an arborist; he was able to advise us on plantings and ways in which we could save and/or preserve some of the fully grown trees on our property. In addition, HL Design drew up two different plans for landscaping our back yard. After we selected one, they purchased and installed all those plants. Dave is a bit of a perfectionist so when he saw that things needed trimming, he just took care of it at no extra charge. When a couple of the plants came in a bit smaller than expected, he quickly ordered larger ones and planted the first ones at no cost to us. He's talented, fair and reasonable. We asked two other landscape companies to give us designs and bids and they were more expensive and far less knowledgeable or creative.
