We decided to replace our roof after seeing signs of a leak. We got four quotes. Jay was very thorough and ended up being one of the least expensive options. We chose him because of his track record and 20 yr guarantee of workmanship. On the day of the job, the team showed up on time and completed the work in a day. Jay followed up with a review of the work. We highly recommend him and his work.

Went well; it was very helpful for us to make the decision on a new roof based on the age and the pictures that were taken. In the end, they were just too expensive.

We called for and estimate and the owner of the company Jay Gleason came to our house the very next day. He is a pleasure to deal with, very professional and listened to all our concerns. He did not try to push for stuff we did not need and explained very well the way his company worked. He said that next he was going to examine our roof, run some numbers and we made a follow up appointment to hear his estimate. The estimate sounded very reasonable to us and he put us completely at ease with the whole project. We scheduled the replacement at our convenience. His crew came yesterday morning a little before 7:00 am, they were incredibly organized, not a single flower in our front or backyard was damaged during the process. These guys worked almost non-stop for almost 12 hours to leave us with a beautiful new roof and we only have positive comments. At the end of the day, our house surroundings looked as neat as they were before the roof workers came. Today we met with Jay for a last time; he showed us hundreds of pictures of the process step by step, the materials used and the finished product. We recommend Jay and his company without reservation and would not hesitate to use his company's services again if needed.

Overall experience with this company service is great. They have done a great job. They have done more than what I purchased in the package such as replace the missing part I am really happy with this company's service and would hire it again.

They came back for the inspection. They did a good job. They said that some of my skylights seemed really old and some may need replaced. They did what they were supposed to do. I really trust their appraisal of what needs to be done. I may have them complete the skylight replacements in the future.

My 91 year old grandmother was interested in getting estimates on replacing the roof on her rancher and detached garage. I have an account with Angies List and did a review of several roofers and found Home Wise Pros to have excellent reviews and provided my grandmother with their contact information. My grandmother called Jay to request an estimate and immediately after Jay spoke with my grandmother he called me to review all of the information he had discussed with my grandmother. Jay continued to keep me involved and updated on all aspects of his interactions with my grandmother and even scheduled appointments around my schedule so that I could assist my grandmother in making a decision. My grandmother recieved three other estimates on her roof and Jay's estimate was in line with another highly reccommended roofer on Angies List and my grandmother and I were impressed with his professionalism and quality of work so we selected Jay. Both roofs were completed on the same day and Jay continued to call me throughout the process to keep me updated. Jay even had one of his employees clean the top of my grandmothers car becasue some dirt/dust had come down from the open rafters during the removal of the old roof. Jay and his team took pictures of evething and reviewed the pictures with my grandmother following the completion of the job and they even came back to inspect a gutter that my grandmother thought looked funny. The Home Wiser Pro group did a fantastic job with my grandmother and I would reccomend Jay and his team to anyone interested in having roof work done. jay even came over to my house and did a quick inspection of my roof to see if there were any issues.

The experience was okay. There was nothing bad about it. He looked at the attic space and that is what he was supposed to look at. The more pressing issue was the roof area that needed to get replaced at some point in time. I am not sure if he wanted more money or not but that is what he told me. It was a big deal purchase. It was only one person and he probably was in the ballpark. He didn’t do anything else it was just a visual inspection.

He was very pleasant, very nice and courteous. When he saw what was needed, he did not try to put in a new roof. He just need what needed to be done to try to keep the price down.

Not much to report - polite conversation to schedule a date and then work was done. No more leaky chimney; I'm a happy customer.

Home Wise Pros scheduled an appointment time was convenient for me, which turned out to be a Saturday morning. The owner of the company come out to the house; he was prompt, courteous, and professional. In addition, both the estimate and the step by step process of replacing the roof were explained in detail. In addition, there were no "pressure" sales tactics. I received six written estimates, and Home Wise Pros was competitive. Although I did not give this job to Home Wise Pros, I wouldn't hesitate to contact them in the future.

I would like to go on record for my fellow Angie's List members and give The Home Wise Pros an A+ rating! After living in my home for 24 years with a 20 year rated roof I was concerned about undetected damage to my roof especially when I heard horror stories from friends and neighbors about their roofing problems. So . . . I went on Angie's List, my favorite "Help Me" site and researched 3 roofing companies. What a learning experience this was as some companies have been on Angie's List for years yet only have a relatively low number of reviews while others provide a whole host of housing services. I wanted to find a company that specialized in roofing, had an A rating and good recent endorsements. After the interview process I zoned in on The Home Wise Pros for several reasons: 1) Jay Gleason, Owner of The Home Wise Pros personally met with me and gave a detailed presentation of what I could expect from his company i.e. high quality materials and workmanship, including before, during and after roofing photo's, a comprehensive cost estimate and was very timely in following up with after interview questions. 2) The Home Wise Pros are an A rated company on Angie's List with 250+ excellent reviews. 3) Upon signing I was given a new roof installation date depending upon weather conditions. The day before my new roof was to be installed all materials were delivered which was a very good sign to me! On the day of installation, I had planned on being away, however, I have a home office and an unexpected project came up that I had to work on that day. Upon the crew's arrival around 7:00 AM they introduced themselves and gave me warnings that if I needed to leave I had to contact them for safety reasons before exiting my house. Jay Gleason called throughout the day with updates on how the new roof was progressing. The roofing crew took approximately 9 hours to install the new roof, two replacement skylights and leave. They did an excellent clean up job and left my yard, driveway and walkway looking better than it did before they arrived. The crew was very nice, polite and helpful in answering my questions. I was so excited to finally feel relief in having a beautiful new architectural shingled roof which I was able to select the color and quality of compared to what was standard by the builder when I moved into my new housing development 24 years earlier. And the new skylights are so much better in quality and clarity that the old ones. A few days later Jay Gleason of The Home Pros met with me at my house and gave a detailed photo slide show of my old roof, the installation in progress, issues they found and addressed and the final roof. In fact, Jay even gave me a photo of a window frame which is high in my cathedral ceiling bedroom over an attached garage that had rotted and needs to be replaced. The owner, Jay Gleason promptly provided me with an estimate of the work that was needed. He was very patient with providing me with answers to my questions/concerns and was able to provide me with guidance as to the best type of roofing for my house. He did not provide a high pressure sales pitch that I had received from some other companies. He gave me a complete explanation of the job and how it would be performed. A mutually agreeable date was chosen and his crew arrived promptly on time to begin the work. Jay even provided me with the cell number of the foreman on the job, in case I had any immediate questions. They carefully covered everything to avoid damage and cleaned up at the end of each working day. Jay provided me with a daily update to the progress of the job and came by the house several times throughout the job to check on things. The job took slightly longer then anticipated due to the complexity of some of the required repairs. His crew even worked on Sunday to finish up and made sure that everything was very clean at the end of the job. They took pictures throughout to document everything and Jay showed me the pictures of the process. I am very pleased with the work and the roof likes great. I would highly recommend using Jay's services.

They came early in the AM and finished in one day. Covered all ground items - A/C unit, plants, hedges, yard, etc. Not one thing indicating they were even there. Work completely organized and performed by company crew who knew their roles and were clearly experienced. Several neighbors have already complemented us on the work. Estimate was spot-on, no additional charges, even though they threw in a few extras like routers/diverters above sky lights. No confusion on any task they performed. Pictures show it all.

Beyond excellent! Jay and his team were up front, honest, and professional. Jay's estimate was dead on and almost $2500 less than the next estimate I had. He took pictures throughout the entire job and on top of everything he redid the top of my shed at no extra cost. He felt odd leaving a new roof on the house but the old crappy one on the shed. Bought a coupon from Angies list for a roof inspection. Called the company and set up a time for roof inspection. They came on time and went on the roof. I had lost tiles in a storm and asked them what the cost of repair was....we set a price...and they then said I needed caps around my vents..They offered pictures of my roof..and fixed all.. Company head Jay was nice to deal with...just think the cost of the coupon 149 and the cost of fixing the roof 450 may have been a little high

I guess it was fine. It is difficult to know whether roof sealing was actually completed with out getting up there myself. And, the workers that came never talked to me. I was only in contact with a person at the office.

Numerous photos taken both before and after to document roof condition, which we found very helpful. Owner is knowledgeable, courteous and punctual, answered our questions patiently, and met with us at our convenience so we didn't have to miss work. I thought the estimate was high, never having replaced a roof before and not realizing what they cost, but we received another quote from a highly rated Angie's List company that was even higher and put the situation into perspective. Team arrived when promised, and work was done efficiently; complete clean-up of premises afterwards -- I could tell work had been done because our yard around the house was totally cleared of normal winter debris and looked better than prior to the roof replacement. Excellent follow-up to explain things at every step of the way, and delivery of all that was promised. A very good experience, if it's possible to say being out $17,500 is a happy event! A house unfortunately requires maintenance as it ages.

As above, I do not believe that maintenance eas done. Since it is on the roof, I do not know for sure.

We solicited estimates from at least a half a dozen roofing contractors to fix/replace our roof. Home Wise Pros was competitive with all quotes received. What sold us more than just the price was the personalized treatment and the detailed description of the work to be done. We were shown photos describing what type of work would be done, what materials would be used and we were offered alternatives that would raise/lower the price along with the pros and cons of each. The workers arrived early in the morning and started the job. They were all very courteous, polite and respectful of our personal property. They were very quick, efficient and the complete job was finished in about 12 hours. The owner personally over saw the work and contacted me a couple of times during the process to update me of the status. He took photos every step of the way (hundreds of photos) to demonstrate that the work was done as promised and to indicate any additional plywood that needed to be replaced. His crew put forth extra effort to cut sheets where possible and limit the number of sheets required. Their work is very detail oriented and they took a lot of additional little steps that made a big difference. Upon completion of the job, they did a very thorough cleanup of the yard and then rolled it with a magnet to ensure no nails were left behind. The following day, I performed a detailed inspection of the entire yard surrounding the house. It was nearly spotless. Considering the work that took place, I was pleasingly impressed. We are extremely pleased with our choice to trust Home Wise Pros with such a significant improvement to our home. We feel that we received everything promised in our contract and quite a bit more. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. They represent everything that a good company/business should be; professional, skilled and honest with a very personal customer service orientation.

l bought my older house about 2.5 years ago. While in excellent overall condition, I did know from the house inspection that I would need to have the roof re-shingled within the first five years of ownership. Last summer, I noticed a special offer from Angie's List to have the Home Wise Pros come out and reseal around vents, etc, inspect the roof, and document the condition with photographs. The follow-up visit to review the inspection findings was very informative; I liked Mr Gleason and really appreciated the photographic evidence of the condition of my roof. I decided to receive an estimate for the roof and to book a date for the work in the spring. Mr. Gleason thoroughly reviewed the estimate with me, and I appreciated his attention to detail in his explanation of the work to be done and why my estimate was perhaps a little higher than most houses my size: a Dutch Colonial's gambrel roof requires extra labor due to steepness, angles, and wrap around areas. Made complete sense, especially since I had seen Dutch Colonial with roofs that were not great, and the look of the overall house does suffer. Mr. Gleason also explained that it was more than likely that some of the wood (and this is a board roof, not plywood) would need to be replaced. I signed the contract, but still wondered if this wasn't work that I could have put off for a few more years. Later that fall, while my home was spared the worst from Super Storm Sandy, I did lose a few shingles and was concerned about the overall condition of the roof. I called Home Wise Pros and explained to them what my insurance adjuster told me about the roof based on their inspection; a couple of weeks later, Home Wise Pros came out and replaced the missing shingles with some extras they had and ensured the roof would be ok until spring when the larger project was scheduled. I was not billed for this. I am extremely gratful for their help with my minor (but important to me) post storm clean up. About two weeks ago, Home Wise Pros showed up around 7 am and started rolling out the tarps and prepping for the work. Shortly after I left the house to go to the office (it was getting noisy, especially with the sawing for the new ridge vent), I received a phone call from Mr. Gleason informing me that his crew needed more wood. It seems that the condition of the roof was not as good as had originally been believed. A problem with assessing board roofs is that you can't always tell the actual condition of the roof because unlike plywood, they generally don't have the sag and give that bad plywood does when its walked upon. Removing the old shingles and paper on my roof; however, revealed holes big and small all over the place, and a couple of areas that qualified as something more than "holes" given the large amount of wood that was simply missing. They were off to Home Depot for more wood, but I was assured that all could be fixed and that it would still be done that day. Amazingly enough, with the removal and replacement of a couple hundred feet of wood, it was done by the time I came home at 5:30 that day. I was amazed and impressed. I had seen neighbor houses with far less drama and difficulties with their roofing jobs being worked on until late in the evening, but mine was done in under 12 hours. And the house looked great, I mean really great. The architectural shingles combined with the craftsmanship and experience of a seasoned roofing crew made my gambrel roof look fantastic. The completion of the work in one day, the quality of the work and the products used, the help after the storm, all made me very happy and satisfied. But, I wasn't REALLY happy and satisfied with the job until I saw the pictures. I believed Mr. Gleason about the condition of the boards and the need to replace more wood than was originally estimated, but wow, seeing really is believing. Home Wise Pros documents their work with photographs... and not just a couple of nice before and after pics with one or two while the new shingles are going down, but 200+ pictures documenting every finding and bad board that was replaced. When I signed the contract I really wasn't sure I needed to do the roof now, but my gosh, I can't imagine what would have happened if I hadn't had the roof done now. Now, I have the peace of mind that my roof not only looks great, but that it is secure and in good shape.
