The Home Wise Pros Roofing

Jay was my primary POC and was excellent. He was prompt in getting back to me and was able to come out quick for an estimate. After agreeing to move forward, my appointment was scheduled very quickly even though this is a busy season. The crew showed up promptly at 7AM and finished around 4PM. Along the way, the crew took multiple pictures to document the process which was excellent to see exactly what was damaged and how it was replaced. They cleaned up thoroughly and safely (without leaving nails). Home Wise Pros definitely puts the customer first and if I had to replace my roof again, I'd definitely use them again.

The inspector arrived promptly and explained his findings. He also took photographs which were later emailed to me. Jay Gleason called me and discussed the findings and answered all my questions. Fortunately, no repairs were required.

I liked all the personal contact, calling to make an appointment and calling to confirm it. After the appointment I received a call with feedback on what they found. They took pictures of everything they did, such as new caulking, and everything they found. When I asked if I needed additional work done on the roof I was told not yet, wait a few years and then revisit. They could have told me anything since I know nothing about roofs and was not going to climb up and look myself. The pictures were emailed to me so I could see what we had discussed and so I would have a baseline for the future. I will definitely call them back when the time comes to inspect the roof again.

I met with Mr. Gleason back in mid-April after utilizing an Angies List deal to have a roofing inspection done. His crew inspected my roof and showed me photos of all of the areas on the roof where there was water damage. The roof was probably about 20 years old and was close to needing to be replaced. Because of the water damage, I chose to have the roof repaired sooner rather than later. When I met with Mr. Gleason in April he carefully explained his process for replacing roofs and we discussed the different types of shingles that were available. I chose to go with the better quality architectural shingle which only added about $200 to the overall price. We set a date for having the roof done and his crew was here by 7AM and they were finished by 6PM. After the roof was done, I met with Mr. Gleason again who showed me pictures of the work as it was being done. They set up cameras on the roof and took over 400 pictures of their work. It was very impressive to see the details of the process of replacing a roof. I now have a very nice looking and solid roof that will protect my home for many years to come.

It appears they prefer to do this when you are not home. I scheduled an appointment when I would be home, insisted it was not necessary. Cancelled the first appointment and rescheduled. Then called me when I was out of town, said if they didn't do it then they didn't know when because they are so busy with the offer. I came home and it was a sloppy caulk, probably took 10 minutes, called me and made some questionable comments about my roof. I knew it was old. After his caulk job I got a new leak, where the caulk actually channeled water to a small gap in flashing. I got a new roof but did not call them.

We shopped around and received quotes from three other providers prior to selecting the Home Wise Pros. They were not only very reasonably priced, but also professional, punctual, and very thorough with their work. The crew took pictures throughout the day showing the work done and any damaged wood requiring replacement. These guys know what they are doing. I would be very happy to have them do work for me again in the future.

.Things went so smoothly. The end of March was a potential date depending on weather. Very pleased to find out the day before that roofing day was to follow. Jay had told us what to expect, including how to exit the house during the work and how to manage the dogs during the day. Everyone arrived at 7am and everything was covered and the work began. By 3:30 pm everything and everyone was gone and the roof and all areas around the house looked great. Jay phoned right after they left to make sure things were good and answer any questions or concerns. One of the best features of the service was the multiple photos taken of the roof before, during (rotted wood spray painted and numbered) and after. Seeing picture of other similar jobs when Jay came to present his products and workmanship was such a selling point. And when he returned the following week to review and get the final payment it essentially was a final inspection. Jay was the first of 3 to come and check the roof but was the last to present (all within a week). The details were so helpful and my husband and I both overestimated when he asked for a guess at the final price. We were delighted to find his pricing was so much less than one, and very competitive with the other with so much more service. Everything about our experience was so much better than we expected. Not only have I recommended him to a friend already for their roof, but would gladly do so in the future.

Basic roof maintenance package. Hammered in pop nails and caulked them, inspected roof/flashing, replace one missing tile near the edge of the roof. Later called me and gave me the results of the maintenance/inspection.

They did the work as stated within the deal. They were responsive. It’s not something that I’ve checked out after because I haven’t been on the roof but I haven’t had any issues either.

Best case scenario! Jay's crew showed up when they said they would, they covered bushes & yard with tarps and worked 14 hours the first day. 7 am to 9 pm. They stayed polite & friendly entire time(I might have not been so nice after about 10 hours, myself!) They took over 500 pictures( kinda like a wedding)of the work in process and the roof. Jay would have been in perfect position to prove that he needed to replace rotten wood if there had actually been any but there wasn't & he could prove it! Really feels good to take the " faith & trust-subjectivity" out of the deal and work on objective pictures. The new ridge vent is great looking too. Due to issues beyond Jay's control, it took longer than planned to do our roof. I host a ladies bible study on Wed. Mornings and did not want them to restart project before noon. No problem and they cleaned entire yard, decks ,walkways up like you would hope would be done at the end of the job. Jay was also doing the roof across the street at the same time so Wed. morning he worked there. Ladies all commented on roof going up there. The Home wise guys did such a great clean up job, no one realized that half of my roof was missing. They cleaned everything including the gutters before leaving when job was finished on Wed. I think my neighbors were all impressed that the Homewise guys did two pretty big,very steep roofs in two days. Roof replacement is a loud, annoying job & usually takes several days each. Jay is big enough to handle two houses same day, something I had not thought about before. The Home wise guys replaced & updated to code our 27 year old skylights. They had never leaked but we felt this would be right time and certainly cheaper than waiting til they did leak. The new ones should be better energy efficient. About 5 hours after the home wise guys left we had a hard rain and then torrential rains the following night-no leaks! So we now have an improved roof, architectural shingles, roof vent & new skylights (clean gutters) and it is time to start searching Angie's list for someone to repair replace some cedar & paint the house. -the roof went so well-we want to finish the spruce up! Yes, best case scenario!

They did a good job and their price was good. I never had a problem with them.

Lots of rain kept provider from coming out when we had appointments. Ended up coming when I wasn't home, so I wasn't able to talk to him about my concerns and ensure he understood WHERE the leak was that was making a stain on my bedroom ceiling. Still have roof leak and the stain on my bedroom ceiling is getting slowly larger so he missed at least one area. Hired someone to do siding repair and he said that indeed some caulking had been done, so they did show. Just wish they'd have notified me that they were coming to my place.

Two men arrived as scheduled and carefully and thoroughly inspected our entire roof. Mr. Gleason called a day or two later to let us know that the men had sealed the edges of a couple of shingles and that the roof was in good condition. Mr. Gleason, as well as the men to did the inspection, were very courteous and answered fully our questions regarding the inspection and what they found.

From the beginning, Jay was great to deal with. He is very honest, thorough, and helpful. He stays in touch so you know exactly what is going to be done and when. We talked to four companies that we got from Angie's List. Jay gave us the best price(by as much as 5000.00 for the same shingles). We got the Angie's List discount which was really nice when you're talking about so much money. We felt like we could really trust Jay and his company. In fact, we were out of town when they did the roof. They cleaned everything up beautifully, and we were so pleased with the results when we got home. Jay came back the day after we got back to town, and showed us a lot of pictures of the whole roofing process. They photograph every stage from beginning to end. I also like that he gets a satellite measurement of your roof so he can be very exact with square footage. The other companies used older methods and came up with measurements that we knew were not correct since we had this house built and know how big the roof is. I would highly recommend Home Wise Pros for your roofing job. In fact, I've told my kids, who will need roofs soon, that they don't need to do all of the research I had to do. They can just go with Jay!

Angie's List and a neighbor brought The Home Wise Pros and us together. We want to thank the owner, Jay Gleason, for his professionalism and for the outstanding job his company did when replacing the entire roof on our home. Jay's communication with us during this entire roofing process was super! Jay came to our home and thoroughly discussed the process of replacing our roof. He shared pictures with us of other customers' roofing installations so that we would have a complete understanding of the roofing replacement process. Jay also told us that digital pictures would be taken during the installation of our roof from beginning to end to share with us once the job was completed. Jay came back to our home a second time to give us an estimate and to answer any questions we may still have had. We had obtained two prior estimates on replacing our roof's shingles. Jay's estimate was in the middle, but very close to the lowest estimate. Jay helped us select the type of shingles as well as the color of our shingles for our roof. He projected an installation date for us contingent upon acceptable weather conditions. Jay kept a watchful eye on weather conditions so that his team could replace our roof. Due to actual rain and the forecast rain, our roof replacement date had to be delayed for a week. Jay kept us informed the entire time by telephone about the likely installation date. We appreciated all of his contacts with us. The date was scheduled and the roofing replacement took one entire day. The roofers arrived at our home on time. My husband greeted the foreman. As Jay recommended, we left our house for the day so that we would not be subjected to the constant banging on the roof and for our safety (roofing material can potentially fall around the perimeter of the home). During the time the roof was being installed, Jay contacted us at least three times to update us on the roofing process and then to let us know when the job would be completed. Once again, Jay's communication during this process put us at ease about what was happening at our home. Jay's roofers took pictures during the entire process. Jay contacted us once we returned home to get our input and level of satisfaction about the new roof and to answer any of our questions. The roof looks awesome! The color of the new roof shingles complements our brick front and shutters on the house perfectly. Jay contacted us again to set up our final appointment to share the roofers' pictures of our roof, answer any additional questions, let us know exactly what was done by the workers, and to collect the balance due. We met with Jay today. We were extremely pleased with his presentation, the hundreds of pictures taken of our roof installation, and his explanation of what his roofers did. My husband asked Jay to send him some of the pictures of our roof installation and also to drop off the extra roofing shingles just in case there is ever damage from trees, etc. We have already referred Jay to our family and friends. It's no wonder that Jay Gleason of The Home Wise Pros is Angie's List's top roofer. Thank you Jay for making the replacement of our roof such a positive experience.

Fine. all very well. Easy. And the house DOES hold heat and cool better!

Our experience with The Home Wise Pros and it's owner, Jay, was great. We made a change at the last minute to include roof replacement for a younger addition to the house that still had some life left in the roof. Jay was flexible and everything went smoothly. They started the roof early this morning and finished it this evening and it looks great. The way they take digital pictures before, during, and after each step differentiated them from other contractors. We wouldn't hesitate to do business with Jay again and to recommend The Home Wise Pros to others.

Jay and his men did an awesome job. The entire experience was excellent. We received the early-season 10% discount(still available) and there were no hidden costs. The old roof was completely removed and replaced in a single day (last Thursday). I mowed Sunday and the clean-up was so well, that there was hardly any sign that a new roof had been installed. Jay came back tonight to get paid and make sure that everything was fine. It is clearly obvious that he takes great pride in his company and the work that they do, as he should.

This was an outstanding Big Deal. The work they did was excellent. They were on time and did what was needed. The workers were thorough and accurate with the work. I got a great value. Everything they did was covered under the Big Deal with no additional costs. Great experience!

I purchased a Big Deal for a roof inspection. The guy at Home Wise Pros (unfortunately I did not get his name) was excellent! I've bought several Big Deals before, and this is the first time that the provider called me first. Usually, I have had to chase them for a few weeks to get them to come in. This time the service was scheduled almost immediately. When the weather changed, they promptly called and rescheduled, since the work cannot be performed when it's raining. On the day of the inspection they came to the house on time, performed the work, and called me in the evening with the results. They even fixed a few additional things that were not part of the deal. The guy said he didn't mind helping us out, since he was already up on the roof anyway. We are very satisfied with the professionalism of this provider. They exceeded our expectations. I wish all house repairs went this smoothly.

When Jay came out to give us an estimate, we immediately felt very comfortable with him and his company. He showed us numerous pictures of other jobs his company had done, showed us overhead pictures of our own roof to discuss the unique features we would have to take into account, and was very knowledgeable about roofing products and options. Although they were not the cheapest estimate we received, the price was competitive and their reputation is great, so we selected The Home Wise Pros to do the job. His company was quite busy this spring, so it was probably about six weeks before they actually did the job, but he was in communication with us throughout. On the day of the job we left the home before his guys arrived, and when we returned everything was done. Our new roof was complete and everything had been cleaned up. A few days later Jay returned to our home to review the pictures of the job and show us everything they had done. They event went above and beyond to add some features to divert water around our chimney that were not there before, and for which they did not charge extra. Everything looked great, the quality was just as high as we expected, and we are incredibly happy with our new roof.

Jay first showed up on time and explained, in detail, the process of replacing a roof and the different factors that may affect the cost. He also explained that one of his workers would be taking numerous pictures to accurately document the condition of the roof every step of the way. His bid was about $1300 higher than another contractor here on AL. But, that cost was just a base price and did not include add-ons that we would have to pay for such as removal of the skylights, old fan etc. Additionally, Jay only uses the top of the line materials and installs the drip edges and uses the snow/rain membrane along all edges. Jay did make a counter offer of $4950, and we signed the contract. Initially we were told that it may take about three weeks for our roof to be done. However, Jay called later that night and stated another job had to be re-scheduled due to the owner's request. So, we were able to get our roof done two days later. The workers all showed up on time and were very professional. They put down tarps to catch the old shingles. They also used a big magnet and went over the front and rear of our town home to collect any nails that may have fallen. They even used a leaf blower to clean up and that of my neighbor as well. When I came home from work, I could not tell that anyone was even at my house, less of course the new roof. I met with Jay a few days later and he sat down with my wife and I to show us all of the pictures his employee took. There must have been about 100!. It was amazing to see our roof in such detail. There was nothing Jay was trying to hide from us and that's what initially sold my wife and I on his company. From start to finish, the job was performed with the a high level of professionalism. If we ever buy another home and need a roof, I will definitely hire Jay's company.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I wasn't impressed. They basically came out and said that it needed more and they weren't going to do anything. They didn't do any work; they just looked at it. They didn't give me the written report; I had to call them up two months later to get it.

The repair I wanted was made; I thought it was included, they said they did it for free because of the miscommunication. I did not receive quote to remove satellites fish, as I expected, not report on condition if my roof.

They did a very professional job and provided me with pictures of my roof to substantiate their findings. The owner of the company met with me at house and pointed out several problem areas and carefully explained all of my options for getting my roof replaced. I contracted with the company to replace my roof in early June.
