I highly recommend The Home Wise Pros for roof work or replacement. I had four companies come out to provide quotes. One company did not respond and of the three others, The Home Wise Pros was by far the most responsive and thorough in explaining exactly what they would do and what materials they would use. They were not the cheapest of the three quotes but their pricing was very competitive and to me I would rather go with an A+ Angie's List company who has a professional presentation and stands behind their work versus saving a few dollars on this type of investment. The job went great. Jay and his guys showed up when they said they would and worked until dark to get the roof in a weather-protected state before leaving. This was important to me as you never know what the weather is going to do in Maryland. They came back the next morning and finished everything up, including cleaning around the house. We had one issue with a manufacturer's defect with the skylight but Jay immediately worked with the manufacturer to find a replacement and even came out on a Sunday to evaluate its operation and make adjustments to ensure that it was fully operational. Overall they are a great company to work with.

The service and responsiveness were excellent. We first met with Jay in June and he showed us many photos of other homes, walked around our neighborhood with us and provided samples of potential roof material. He provided a list of other homes to look at so we could see what the finished product might look like. When we gave him a deposit in July, he gave us an approximate work date of 'week of 10/21 and he actually started the work that week, despite all the rain in the interim. His crew was prompt and courteous, went out of their way to protect the deck and landscaping and cleaned up perfectly. They take pride in their work and took numerous photos of particularly challenging areas that they finished beautifully. Jay and his employees were a pleasure to work with and the roof looks great - several neighbors have already called him for estimates.

Everything went beautifully! Jay Gleason and his crew were courteous, punctual, always in good communication, flexible, and took extra care with regard to safety. They cleaned the yard immaculately when they had completed the job. I especially liked that they documented with photos the old wooden boards that required replacement. It was a pleasure to do business with this company.

We got 3 different estimates to replace our roof and Home Wise Pros was the middle, pricewise. We decided to use them based on the many jobs they had done in our area and the excellent reviews they received on Angie's List. Due to a cancellation, we ended up getting our roof done only 4 days after we met with Jay and signed the contract. He was very thorough in explaining what would be done and answering all our questions. Everything was done in one day and cleaned up by the time we got home that night. Jay came out a few days later to review everything that had been done. He was able to show us the (200+) pictures on his laptop that they had taken during the course of the job. In the 2 spots where wood was replaced, we could see the rotten wood before it was removed and the new wood in its place. It provided a great overview of everything they done during the course of the day. I would recommend the Home Wise Pros without hesitation to any of my neighbors contemplating a new roof. They were professional, honest and a pleasure to work with.

When it comes to hiring contractors, I tend to be extremely thorough. I recently received seven estimates to replace my roof and, in doing so, learned a whole lot about the roofing industry. The Home Wise Pros was the last company that I met with, and I am sure glad that I did. Jay, the owner, sat down with me for more than one hour and took a great deal of pride in explaining, in detail, every step of the process. Needless to say, I selected The Home Wise Pros to replace our roof. Within three weeks, Jay and his crew of eight men arrived at 7 AM sharp. They worked diligently for nearly twelve hours, photo documenting EVERY step of the process (in excess of 300 photographs). The only break they took was for lunch. I watched most of the project being completed, and could not help but notice what a close group of guys Jay has working for him. This is important, especially when they are working their hardest to ensure the job is completed before the sun goes down. They are meticulous about everything, including what is happening on the ground, and took the time to treat our shrubs and flowerbeds as if they were their own. It was also quite evident that safety is a top priority to each & every one of them. My wife & I could not be more thrilled with the new roof. They found some minor issues with the roof and notified me so I could approve any additional work. They did a good job and provided photos to show that they performed the work.

From the quote to the finish of the job, it was a pleasure. The work was performed on schedule, at the quoted price, completed in one day, and it looks beautiful. They are very detailed and professional. Jay was also helpful in selecting the shingle color, and we are very happy.

It went very well. Jay had pictures of my roof when he came over to give me the estimate, which I really liked. I also appreciated the fact that when it turned out my roofing was scheduled during the government shutdown, he worked with me to reschedule the impact furlough on the roof job would be minimal. The materials were conveniently delivered the night before the job and stored on the roof itself. Everything went smoothly the day of the actual work and they were done in one day and before I expected. Everything was cleaned up and the roof looks great. Lots of photos afterwards so I could see which plywood they replaced and why, as well as other details of the job.

I love them and they do a great job. We had them come back as their estimate felt reasonable and we were comfortable working with them. They told me what was going to happen and how it would happen. They were very clean and wore boots over the house. They navigated upstairs because it is a little tight. I think that they handled the job very well and the guy was very professional. The owner of the company also stopped by to make sure everything was going well.

Technician came on time. You did a good job. Was pleasant person. We were happy to have tasks completed.

Jay Gleason, the owner, is wonderful to work with. He is a consummate professional. After inspecting our roof, he returned a few days later with an estimate for the job. He showed my husband and I computer pictures of a roofing job that he had recently done so we would better understand what to expect. He even showed us a satellite picture which gave exact roof measurements for our house. Jay's estimate was very competitive as we had already spoken to several other roofing companies. A date was set for the work to be completed but Jay had to call and reschedule as rain was expected. On the morning of the project, Jay called to let us know that he was sending two crews to complete the work since there was the possibility of rain later that day. Jay was on site with his crew at 7:00 a.m. as promised, spoke with us, and called several times to give us progress reports. Jay always answered questions thoroughly and gave us all the information necessary for our own safety should it be necessary for someone to leave or enter the house while the men were working. From start to finish the job was done in an orderly manner. The crew worked non-stop from 7 a.m. until the job was completed at 3 p.m. At least one of the crew members was continuously cleaning up debris as the job was being done. Tarps had been placed on the ground around the house. The crew removed the tarps, used rolling magnets to remove any nails or metal, and everything was returned to its place on the patio and in the yard before the crew left for the day. Jay did a visual inspection of the roof after the job was done and showed us over two hundred pictures of our roof documenting the job from start to finish. My husband and I could not be more pleased with Jay and his crew and the work they did!

We did have to wait some period of time for the vendor to come out and start the work. Once they came, they did exactly what we wanted. It worked out well.

I picked Home Wise Pros to replace my roof and insulate an attic after getting 6 quotes (all A-rated on Angie?s List) and emailing follow-up questions to a number of the roofers. Jay called me and thoroughly answered each question. In addition to his thoroughness, Home Wise Pros was one of only 3 of the 6 that could coordinate the roof replacement with insulating an attic that did not have an entry from inside the house and therefore required removal of part of the roof to insulate. There was a $3,000 difference between the lowest and the highest quotes that I received just for the roof replacement (without insulation) using the same Certainteed architectural shingles. While Home Wise Pros? quote was neither the highest nor the lowest, they provided good value by quoting 30 lb roofing paper compared with 15 lb paper that others quoted. They also proposed adding ridge vents on two small sections of roof and NOT adding a ridge vent on the main roof due to its low slope in back. Jay provided good explanations for his recommendations while none of the other roofers even mentioned the two small sections of roof and differed on whether the main roof should have a ridge vent. Home Wise Pros also replaced the attic fan with one that we purchased from a hardware store ourselves. On the day of the job, the crew arrived before 7 am and worked hard all day, finishing around 8 pm. They put tarps up around the garden and yard to catch debris. Because it was dark when they finished, they came back the next morning (a Saturday!) to finish picking up debris and to run a magnet over the yard to pick up nails. We especially appreciated the cleanup since we have a dog. The next week, Jay came by and showed us the more than 200 photos that his crew took of the roof replacement and insulation. The roof looks beautiful and nothing leaked during the rainstorm yesterday from the remnants of a tropical storm. I highly recommend Home Wise Pros to anyone looking for a roof replacement and blown-in attic insulation!

Just had roof replaced by the Home Wise Pros and would highly recommend them. Jay was great to work with- every step of the way, his team was on time, professional and eager to please. The Home Wise Pros do a very smart thing- they take pictures throughout the roofing process. You can watch them work from your yard- but the pictures make all the difference. Seeing the thorough way they work provides peace of mind. We had extensive damage under our existing shingles- really someting to see the amount of work that goes into the process of a new roof. Would recommend them without reservations.

He looked in my attic space and described everything that he could do to give me more blown in insulation. He was courteous, patient, informed and on time. He gave me a price estimate. When I called to have it done a few months later, Hurricane Sandy had the company booked up till March. I have not called back, but if I ever have it done, I would call them again.

.This was a phenomenal experience dealing with Jay Gleason, the owner of The Home Wise Pros. I called him in August to inquire about options for replacing four skylights on our deck porch roof. He did the research without knowing whether we would do business with him. He actually answers his phone, and provides information as requested. He found that it was possible to order skylights that would fit without needing to do a custom order. He came out to the house himself to do the measuring and see the roof. He gave us a price of $2625 to replace the skylights. We were planning to be out of town until the end of September and he said it was not necessary for us to be at home when the work was done. He called me in New England in mid Sept to say that the work would be done by the time we were home. The next call came on Sept 26 as I was leaving Rhode Island. Jay said that they had discovered when they started the work that the shingles were all cracked when removed, and that the wood beneath was rotted. He said they replaced the wood and put all new shingles on the entire roof as they couldn't leave it the way it was. He said he was not interested in making any money on this project and would simply like to recover his costs. When I arrived home on Sept 26th, I saw a beautiful new roof and beautiful skylights installed. I met with Jay this morning ( Sept. 30th) and reviewed all the photos of the progress of the job. He deducted any profit that he had built into the original estimate ( $300), and showed me the receipts for the materials that his men had purchased at The Home Depot on 9/26 when they uncovered the rotted wood. He only added the cost for the additional time for his workers, for a final price of $3300 for the entire job. I cannot offer enough high praise for Jay's fairness , integrity, and competence. I highly recommend him and his company. I am very grateful and thrilled with his work. An added benefit today is this: He removed old plastic bubble skylites with ugly interior shades. Now we have new skylights that actually let us see the Sky, and protects from the UV rays. Thank You, Jay!!!

Following a two-year process of gathering estimates, meeting with various providers, and trying to understand the process of purchasing a new roof, we selected The Home Pros based on Jay's straightforwardness when he described the services he would provide. He personally handled the entire process, keeping in regular contact with us from the time of signing a contract until a final review meeting after the service was completed. He described in advance potential problems which they may discover once the old roof was removed. There were no surprises for us in the work process. The work team was very punctual, efficient and professional. They took time to painstakingly clean-up even small pieces of debris that may fallen on our property during their work. We are very pleased and impressed with our new roof and the improvements made to problem areas, especially around the chimney. It was a great benefit to us to be able to view the several hundred photographs taken throughout the roofing process as Jay explained in detail all work that was performed. The Home Pros is an honest and professional business and we highly recommend Jay and his team.

The owner was very good at scheduling and keeping me informed when the work would be done. The crew foreman seemed very knowledgeable. Since the roof is approaching 20 years of age, I expected a hard-sell about the need for a new roof. But they were very honest and only did the few minor repairs that were necessary. We used an Angie's List coupon.

Roof materials were delivered the day before and placed on the roof by the supplier. Jay's team arrived at 7am ready for work. The house was surrounded by tarps so falling materials would not leave debris after the job was completed. The team worked steadily from 7am until after 630 pm. Over 200 photos were taken by the installers during the day so every detail was documented. At the end of the day, the team cleaned up all the unused materials and scanned the yard with a metal detector to no nails were left unobserved. After the work was completed, Jay Gleason, the company owner, stopped by to check on our satisfaction and to review the photos taken by his team. I learned that several of our roofs plywood sheets were rotted through and likely wouldn't have made it through another winter. The completed roof was stunning. And knowing that I have a solid foundation for any nasty weather that comes is very reassuring. Home Wise Pros is a truly professional firm.

I am pleased to provide a highly favorable recommendation for Home Wise Pros based on my recent experience. Background My 20-yr-old roof was in poor condition and was in dire need of replacement. I solicited quotes from five contractors, which ranged from $10K - $24K. The lowest quote was from a contractor that appeared to be unlicensed or not credible. Home Wise Pros provided the lowest quote among the reputable contractors -- $12,500. In addition to providing the most favorable pricing, the company (specifically Jay Gleason) was also the most responsive and professional among the contractors I interviewed. Jay and I met several times to discuss his quote and services. He embraces high technology in preparing his work proposal, including the use of what appeared to be proprietary satellite imagery (not simply Google Maps) to calculate the dimensions of the roof. Jay's crew required 1.5 days to complete the job (I have an extremely pitched hip roof). They worked from almost dusk until dawn, on what happened to be the 2 warmest days in September 2013. The work proceeded exactly as Jay had described -- absolutely no surprises at all. I was most pleased with the clean-up after the job was completed. Due to the nature of the work, everything in my backyard (grill, patio furniture, etc.) was moved out of the way to the perimeter of the yard. After the job was complete, everything was returned to its original position -- literally within inches. Conclusion In addition to providing the best price, Home Wise Pros also provided superior communication, professionalism, and service. If I could find one thing to complain about -- and I warn readers that this is going to sound silly -- it is that Home Wise did TOO good of a job. What I mean is that because I don't intend to live in my house for more than 5-7 more years, I wanted a roof without fancy bells and whistles, such as ice and water membranes and drip guards, that are not required by the county building code. In other words, I wanted a partially "half-assed" job. Home Wise Pros refused to do that. What you get with Home Wise Pros is peace of mind and a roof that should be worry-free for your entire residency, which is obviously more prudent than something half-assed. Ultimately I determined that this was well-worth the minimal price difference. I highly recommend this company and would be happy to discuss my experience personally. 2-13-14 Update I recently contacted Home Wise Pros because it appeared to me that one aspect of the job had not been completed properly. Within hours, Jay had emailed me pics that he had taken of the job to help assess the issue, and he even stopped by the following day and assured me that if anything had not been done properly, he would take care of it ASAP. Ultimately, we concluded that everything had been done properly and the misunderstanding was on my end. But Jay's promptness and professionalism months after the job demonstrate the integrity of this vendor.

Jay and his team were top notch professionals, and my husband and I are very happy with the work he did on our roof. He was up front and honest about the timeline of events (rain, for instance, causes delays obviously), and once they got started, they worked straight through the day. They also took the time to move our outdoor furniture and planters so that during demolition nothing got harmed. And at the end of the work, they did a very thorough clean-up and put everything back in its place. I would definitely recommend Home Wise Pros for your roofing needs...fair, prompt, honest and GOOD!

We called for an estimate and ended up with an easy, quick, and professional solution. When we started looking for companies to call for estimates we expected to get a hard sell on replacing the roof. We ended up with a completely different experience. We had an in-depth and informative conversation with Mr. Gleason prior to anyone coming out to take a look at the roof and a similar conversation after his crew left. During the initial conversation, Mr. Gleason agreed to have someone take a look at the roof and explained we didn't need to be there but couldn't promise an exact date. To our surprise, his employees arrived to inspect the roof first thing the following morning. They found the source of the leak and replaced a group of missing shingles immediately. Shortly after they left, we received a call from Mr. Gleason explaining what they found and what work was performed. The performed work solved our problem. Mr. Gleason explained that our roof is older but we are not in immediate need of a new roof and we should consider our options and the timing for a roof replacement. Mr. Gleason is extremely professional and takes pride in his company's work-product and reputation. I highly recommend Home Wise Pros.
