Homewise Pro?s Jay Gleason came out to our house to evaluate and quote an estimate for a new roof and replacement of a skylight. He was thorough and informative addressing all my questions clearly. He was very professional and upfront with what work would be needed. His estimate was in line with other quotes that I had received. My roof was larger than normal and had very steep angles. It did not meet the requirements for Anglie?s list roof price specials from some other vendors. The job was scheduled to be done several weeks out and was completed in the timeframe Jay quoted. It was not an easy roof because of the steep slope but it was done efficiently and completed in the time quoted. Jay communicated through the 2 day process at regular intervals. It was recommended not to be home during the procedure due to safety issues and the level of noise. I was always informed during the process of any problem areas found and shown pictures verifying damaged areas and what was done to correct them currently and prevent future damage. I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work, Jay?s communication with me during the process, and the cleanup of materials afterwards. I am very pleased with the appearance of our new roof and I would definitely recommend Home Wise Pros to anyone interested in a roof replacement.

When making the appointment for the estimate, we were told that somebody will come and take pictures before we meet with the estimator. Even we did not see anybody taking pictures, we assumed that was the case. The estimator come on 10/01 and showed us a lot of pictures but none of them was from our roof. We had the impression during our conversation that he did not know any issue associated with our roof. Therefore we decided to go with another company.

I can't stop looking at my new roof. Yes, that seems silly to me - but it's true. I now have the best looking roof in the neighborhood thanks to Home Wise Pros. I can't say enough good things about Jay Gleason. He came out to give me an estimate and walked me through the whole process. They began early in the morning and Jay was here the whole time supervising and texting me photos of the roof in progress. They installed beautiful architectural shingles and replaced an old leaking skylight. The clean-up was just as impressive! They canvassed my yard with high-powered magnets to remove any nails. The home was left perfect when they were done. It is very clear that Jay Gleason takes pride in his company and feels customer service is a must. His price was also less than two other estimates I received, yet he installed a better quality roof. I can't say enough good things about him and Home Wise Pros. I have been recommending them to all my neighbors and friends. I am so happy with their work.

From start to finish Jay Gleason and his crew did an excellent job in a thorough and professional manner. Jay explained each step of the procedure and was careful to detail exactly what was to be done so there were no surprises at job completion. He showed us comprehensive photos from other jobs he had done, which was very helpful. During the work on my roof, Jay visited at regular intervals to check on the progress of his crew. He also arranged for photos of every step of the process in order to document the job and then showed me the photos and explained what had occurred. This was especially helpful in illustrating several pieces of damaged wood which he replaced. Since my house was a Cape Cod style there were multiple dormers and also long narrow areas which were tricky to maneuver, but Jay's crew did a superb job. On one side of the house a tree overhung the area, with branches nearly touching the roof. Unfortunately we had not gotten around to cutting these back and Jay's crew had to work among the branches like squirrels but they took this in stride. The cleanup at job completion, which included vacuuming our carport and deck and using a magnet to pick up stray nails, was excellent. Over all, we were extremely satisfied with the results. Our roof is absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend The Home Wise Pros without reservation.

The president, Jay Gleason, came out to our house a number of times to show us possibilities for asphalt shingles. He carefully explained the job in detail and the various options. He had photos of similar jobs and after the project showed us detailed photos of the work so that we had a better understanding what had been done. Mr Gleason strongly advised that we be away from the house during the reroofing, for safety considerations. This was probably not a bad idea. Even though the roof is large and somewhat complicated with dormers, he put a team of 9 people on the roof and finished up in 2 1/2 days. The cleanup was impeccable and so was the followthru in addressing a very minor issue. The new roof looks excellent and we are very pleased with our dealings with Homewise Pros.

It was fine but it wasn’t what I expected. The description let me believe that I would get more for that amount. They were supposed to do something that evidently they couldn’t do because it was more than what they bargained for or what they expected, so they didn’t anything. So I paid $149 and they couldn’t do anything and I still paid $149, all they did was looked in and that’s it. There was supposed to be something included in there that they would do as a part of it but I ended up getting somebody else to do it. He was fine, the professionalism was fine but I could have had somebody out here for what he did, for free. Most of the companies in this business give you a free estimate and so I didn’t need t pay $149 to get what he gave me. He told me what issues he found on the roof.

This company is awesome! We couldn't be happier with the new roof and sky lighting Mr. Gleason and his staff provided. We are thrilled beyond belief and would definitely recommend this wonderful company to everybody!

It was a smooth operation from start (explanation of work to be done) to finish (clean-up work). Had just 4 minor things that needed addressing (I wasn't here upon the completion of the work during the install) and all were immediately handled the following morning. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a roof replacement.

Pros: Jay was great to work with; professional, knowledgeable, and honest. He has set products that he normally works with, but he was flexible and we were able to ask for things we wanted. He communicated with us as much as possible, including calling to confirm appointments and arrival times and keeping us updated during the roofing process. He took pictures of everything he did to our roof and went through it all after the job was finished. After it rained, we checked our roof, and everything seemed to be completely sealed and leak proof. He cleaned up well also. Cons. I would recommend knowing your roofing materials if you want a bit of an option. He didn't really talk through too many options with us, but that could be because husband knew what he wanted. He doesn't have samples of shingles with him, which wasn't a huge deal for us but could be for others.

Everything went well and was handled professionally throughout the process. They took pictures of the damaged plywood and documented the roof replacement. All the debris, nails, etc. were cleaned off the site when their work was completed. We would recommend Home Wise Pros to anyone looking for a new roof!

The company representative came to our home and gave a presentation on the process they use to remove the old roofing materials, replace any damaged wood and install new ice/water protection, roofing paper, vents and shingles. He was very detailed and thorough in his explanation. He said that they photograph each step of the process since we wouldn't be getting up on the roof to oversee things as the work is done. And, after we hired Homewise Pros, they did exactly what they said they'd do. The roofers removed all of the old roofing materials, identified and photographed the wood that needed to be replaced. Then they replaced the damaged wood and installed all of the new roofing materials. The work was done promptly and all of the people on the job were very polite and professional in the course of their work. Upon completion, they completely cleaned up the job site, even using magnetic tools to make sure no nails were left behind in the grass or parking area. At the end of the project, Mr. Gleason from Homewise Pros came by to show us the photographs all of the entire roof installation process, including photos of the damaged wood prior to removal. In summary, I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company for any roofing projects in the future. They are reasonably priced, they do great work and they leave no trace behind. What more can you ask for? When searching for a roofing contractor to replace our 25 year old roof we requested quotes from The Home Wise Pros and two other companies. From the start of the quote meeting, Jay ( the business owner) was professional, responded to all our queries and there was no "hard sell". He provided us with photos of other jobs, information on material choices and responded promptly to our follow up queries. His pricing was competitive. Jay called us personally in advance of materials being delivered and to confirm the start date for the job. The work crew are Jay's employees, not subcontractors, so they also have an interest in completing the job well, paying attention to detail and being responsive to any queries we had. Jay himself supervised the performance of the contract, which is also not common in other roofing companies. Our contract required removing 2 layers of shingle, on a mansard roof and replacing the roof of an addition which was a challenging task. Our gutters were also replaced. Having Jay onsite for many hours over the 2 day contract meant any concerns or queries were immediately addressed. At the end of the job, Jay spent time with us going over photos of our actual roof replacement to show the work that was done. The job cleanup was also impressive and the crew did a great job clearing our yard of shingle and roofing debris. Dealing with The Home Wise Pros was a great experience and we are happy to recommend them to others.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the roof replacement project. Jay was very professional, courteous, and responsive to all our issues. In our initial meeting, he gave a detailed explanation of the entire process. Whenever we had follow-up questions, he would get back to us promptly and he explained everything clearly. When we finally chose his company to do the job, his roofers showed up on time and the actual work went exactly as Jay had explained in the initial meeting. Their clean up was excellent and there was no evidence that they were here. Upon completion, Jay sat down with us and reviewed hundreds of photos of our roof during all aspects of the replacement job, showing us specific details of where problem areas were and how his workers corrected the problems. The entire project was a surprisingly positive experience. They did exactly what they said they would do. Their costs were exactly what they estimated. They are a very professional company. Jay Gleason and Home Wise Pros did an excellent roof replacement job at both my home and place of employment. At my home, they changed out 3 pieces of rotting plywood, installed a ridge vent, new pipe collars and drip edge, and painted pipes to match new roof. We have lots of flowers around the house and our deck had been recently stained so I was concerned about damage to either, but they were very careful and nothing was damaged by all the old roofing debris. They took lots of photos as the job was being done, so we could see the care they took throughout the whole process. They were punctual and completed the job sooner than we expected. We would definitely recommend them. The price listed was for the roof at my home, the price of the rectory roof was $13,090 (6 pieces of plywood had to be replaced).

Following the discovery of a leak in our roof during a recent storm, I began the search for a roofing company. I pride myself on being thorough; I did my homework and obtained several estimates from several roofing companies, most found through Angie?s list. My experience with The Home Wise Pros was exceptional from the first call to the company answered immediately by Jay, the owner himself, to our final conference after all work was complete. All of the estimates I obtained were within just a few hundred dollar range so the final decision came down to other attributes like service provision and professionalism. Bottom line, when you are dealing with a truly honest person, you simply know it. Jay is just that, honest and full of integrity. His work speaks for itself so there is no need for the hard sell. Jay explained every step of the process to me complete with plenty of pictures from previous jobs he has completed. He scheduled the job and was able to actually complete it earlier than expected due to a stretch of good weather. Leading up to the day of the job, Jay kept us extremely well informed. On the day of the job, his crew showed up exactly on time and got to work. The job took all day, even longer than expected due to many boards needing to be replaced. Again, Jay called us throughout the day to inform us of the progress. When all was done, the roof looked beautiful (who knew I would come to appreciate the appearance of a roof in all of this) and the crew cleaned up completely. Jay met with us two days later and shared pictures of our roof that had been taken throughout the entire process. We were looking for a new roof, and checked out 4 different companies. One was a contractor (although he didn't specify that on Angie's List) who made a hard sales pitch, demanded that all parties (husband and wife be present for the bid), and was out of the running immediately. The other 3 were local Baltimore outfits. All were responsive, professional, and had competitive bids. However; Jay was by far the most responsive, easy to work with, and beat out the nearest bid by over a $1000. Scheduling the job was very straightforward, and the bid was spelled out nicely. He was very mindful of the fact that we live out of town, and could not be present for the job and without hesitation agreed to wait till we flew in a few weeks later for the walkthrough and payment. The job was completed on a Sunday/Monday. He continually updated us with texts/pics. The neighbors raved about the workers, and in fact may be using him for their own property. The site was protected well, and cleaned on completion. The walkthrough (today) was done 2 weeks after the job completion. Jay went over the entire job (he keeps a photo log of every step), and was a pleasure to work with. Overall, the best experience we've ever had with a service provider found on Angie's List. There is no hard sales pitch, and no suggestive selling. He makes the process straightforward, and truly sets the bar high. I recommend this company without any reservation.

We received three estimates to replace the roof. We chose The Home Wise Pros because we felt Jay Gleason gave us the best price and we were impressed with his professionalism and felt he would worked with us. We experienced a change in our schedule and Jay changed our date without any issue. The shingles, wood, etc. was delivered on time, the next day the roofers started on time. Jay would call with updates and his calls were always the times he said he would call. The roof was a challenge, Jay said it was one of the worst he had done, the roofers had to deal with planks that were laid in the year 1900. Also numerous additions to the house presented many areas that needed different types of repair. The Home Wise Pros had to deal with old wood planks that through the years had splintered, knot holes that opened up and exposed the roof to future large holes, and areas that looked like they were burnt. The house presented many challenges. Jay and his crew dealt with each problem. The roof was repaired, shingled properly and looks amazing. I would and plan on using The Home Wise Pros for any future projects that we require.

Excellent service! Jay was prompt and responsive, gave me a detailed description of the work and a good cost estimate. He originally scheduled it for 2 months away, but since I had just discovered a small leak, he put me on "ASAP" standby in the event we had extra days of good weather and he could fit me in. Fortunately, he was able to do it the following week (!). And the cost was lower than my own 'budget' estimate. Jay explained the whole process, took a lot of pictures; his workers were very tidy and well mannered. They are very careful to clean up afterwards. I found him, first, on Angies List, and secondly by asking my neighbor who he used. My neighbor highly recommended Home Wise Pros (and my neighbor is an engineer, and received a lot of estimates--he found Home Wise to be very reasonable). I recommended Home Wise Pros to two co-workers who are looking to replace their roofs.

Home Wise Pros is an excellent service provider. The owner of the company, Jay Gleason, gives excellent service. When I put my deposit down, Jay gave me a date (about 6 weeks into the future) when the work would start. Jay called a few days before that date and was ready to start on the promised date. With the rain, there were some days of no work and Jay always called me to tell me what was going on. Jay shows pictures of all the work which is done which is very helpful. I believe the quality of the work to be excellent. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone.

We discovered some damage to the plywood when my husband tried to nail gutters back that had come away from the roof. When my husband replaced that one sheet of plywood, he discovered the nearby sheet was also rotten. We decided to call around for an inspection and to get quotes. We found Home Wise Pros on Angie?s list and read the great reviews. During our initial phone call, Jay Gleason told me he only did replacement ? no repairs. He encouraged me to get a few other quotes. After he took a look at our home, he called to schedule an appointment with us to present proposal. He took the time to educate me about roofing even though my husband was well-versed, made sure we understood the process, products, etc. He showed us photos of prior jobs and gave us the quote. We had other quotes but were really impressed with his transparent approach. He documents the job with photos that show the condition of the roof and underlying layers as they are removed and replaced. He answered all of our questions honestly, and we felt no pressure or sales pitch. We signed that day. He scheduled us for seven weeks out, but two weeks later he called to say he had an opening that week and could they come sooner. The materials were delivered the day before and shingles placed onto the roof. We were out of the house by 7am and they arrived shortly after. Jay called us around 2:30 to let us know that the gutter covers that had been on the gutters had been poking/protruding into the shingles and had damaged the old ones. He recommended we not put them back up. My husband knew that was true from his experience with the gutters. He met us at the house at 4:15pm. The roof looked fantastic! He showed us the photos of the day?s work, including the damaged plywood. While we talked, his crew put the finishing touches on the roof, painting the chimney and vent pipes to match the roof (so they wouldn?t stick out) and swept the yard for nails with a magnetic bar. The whole process was a pleasure. We had several back and forth phone calls before and during the installation. No matter the hour (my husband texting him at 6am on the morning of the installation or my returning Jay?s call at 8:30pm one evening), Jay was responsive and available. Each conversation felt unrushed, no question too dumb. Jay Gleason is friendly, approachable, very organized, quick to respond to questions, courteous, thoughtful and professional. He gave us straight answers to difficult questions and delivered more than he promised. We would highly recommend Home Wise Pros based on our excellent experience with them. We love our new roof!

During the estimate inspection, Jay Gleason arrived on time, and pointed out problems with the roof and explained the whole roof replacement process, and types of materials. All the estimates, I received, were approximately the same, with variations in the details (materials used, cost of supplies and plywood). The only thing they could not estimate were the number of sheets of plywood needed, until the old roof was removed. In this case, five sheets were replaced. The materials were delivered several days before, and placed on the peak of the roof. I stayed in the house during the roof replacement, and it wasn't as loud as I expected it to be. The roofers were nice and the supervisor explained the problems as they came along (plywood replacement). During the replacement, Jay Gleason texted me several of the pictures, taken by the supervisor. During the settlement, Jay went over the process details and pictures with me.

The Home Wise Pros did a fantastic job replacing a roof that was over 20 years old. During the proposal phase, the owner, Jay Gleason, explained the process that his team would use to replace the roof. He shared photos from previous jobs to show, step by step, exactly what would be done and what he looks for when assessing a roof's condition. He answered all of my questions honestly and I never felt any sales pressure from his presentation. We agreed on a price and set a date for when the work would be performed. I travel a great deal for my job and Jay was more than willing to work with me to accommodate my schedule. His team showed up on a Saturday morning (7:30 AM) and went right to work. Throughout the day, Jay kept me apprised of the progress, even texting photos of problem areas that he uncovered. Since there were two layers of shingles on the roof, the underlying wood had probably not been seen in 40 years or so. He found considerable wood rot on the shaded side of the roof, so he needed to replace all of the wood decking on that side. Despite this unforeseen problem, his team still managed to complete the entire job, including clean up, by 6 PM. The new roof looks great. They even painted the roof vent stacks, so they now look like new as well. The clean up was spotless and there was no trace of any debris left in the yard. A few days after the completion of the job, he sat down with me once again to review every thing and to make sure that I was satisfied with the results. He showed me over 200 pictures that he had taken from start to finish, so there was no doubt in the quality of the work that his team performed. In addition, he also pointed out some issues with my chimney that I was not aware of, and that will need to be addressed in the future. Overall great experience. Highly recommended!

I?d already had two other roofing estimates but I knew I wouldn?t be using either of them and I came to Angie?s List and found The Home Wise Pro?s and his 400+ positive reviews. So I called and set up an estimate with the owner, Jay Gleason. I was impressed with the owner when he first came to our home for an estimate. I ran my ex-husbands building contractor office for 10 yrs and I guarantee my ex was never this professional or thorough! We walked around the house looking at our roof and getting a general idea of what was needed. A crewman had already been by earlier in the day to get measurements for the estimate. Then we sat down and he showed us how he and his crew of 6-9 men take digital pics of each step in the process from removing old shingles to whether or not any wood needs replacing, how they add new flashing and paint the vent pipes to match the roof better and how they tarp not only bushes at base of house but well into the yard. They take pics of everything, it was quite impressive! Since he noticed we had two dogs, Jay recommended we remove them from the house when the work is being done so not to cause them unnecessary anxiety. That kind of personal attention to detail and thoughfulness is very much appreciated, most contractors would be concerned about themselves and not our pets. We signed the contract and scheduled a convenient time for both of us which was about a month later. As it turned out he was available 2 weeks early due to weather and a customer family emergency. They waited to start work after 8am yesterday since I work close by and don?t need to leave very early - again I truly appreciate that personal consideration. Jay called me during the day to warn me that there was indeed quite a lot of wood that was rotten and deteriorated. He assured me they were taking plenty of pics to show me how extensive the damage was. (We knew there was a problem as we could see damaged insulation in the attic.) I have a fairly small rambler, a ?starter home? that has a minimal pitched roof, but with the amount of wood that needed replacing they would take the full day. While I was driving home Jay called to let me know they were almost done and it was safe to walk into or out of the house. His crew was still here working and cleaning up when I got home. The roof looked amazing and now the shutters and old aluminum awnings stick out like a sore thumb! My husband and I walked around and found no debris or nails in yard or garden. Only one bush had a single branch broken off. Jay told us how his team uses a large magnet and walks the yard to find any stray nails. I can?t give a high enough rating or praise for Jay and his crew. My only complaint? He?s not a building contractor who will also so the work on our kitchen remodel too!!

We were very pleased with the entire process. Our new roof looks great! Mr. Gleason is very knowledgeable, fair and professional. We appreciated the fact that he photographed the damaged boards that needed replacement. This showed us the extent of damage in each board, and the number of boards that were replaced. Mr. Gleason also photographed the progress of our installation, which showed us detailed services that he provided (e.g., replacement of pipe collar, clean out of gutters, shingled ridge vents, etc), per our contract. Mr. Gleason's crew took care of protecting bushes, garden and flowers next to the house, and they swept the yard for debris and nails. Our neighbors are now interested in hearing more about The Home Wise Pros. Overall, this was a great experience!

Great company to work with - courteous, punctual, fast, neat. They had a big enough crew to do the entire roof in one day and provided photos of the work. No complaints.
