Mr. Ramsey is extremely professional and also just a very nice man. He did the environmental inspection when we bought our house three years ago and identified problems that we were able to have fixed by the sellers before moving in. Most recently, we called Mr. Ramsey in a panic after observing what we believed to be asbestos tiles under the flooring we were having pulled up during a kitchen remodel. Our house, like many in this area, was built in the late 1950s. Mr. Ramsey came to our home within hours of our contacting him, confirmed that the tiles did contain asbestos, explained to the workers doing the remodel how it needed to be handled, and then actually removed the tiles that needed to be taken out. In addition, he took the time to explain the situation to us and put our minds tremendously at ease. We would highly recommend him to anyone. He is an expert in his field. One thing that is great about him is that he doesn't tell you something has to be done unless it actually has to be done - for example, in our case, the bulk of the asbestos containing tiles did not need to be removed but, rather, could be dealt with safely simply by being properly covered prior to our new floor being laid. He helped us solve our problem in the most cost effective way possible.

They arrived early which was great. They went right to the crawlspace looked at the problem and determined they needed more waterproofing paint. So they managed their time well. They scraped and scrubbed the mold off the wall first then let that dry. While it was drying went to the store for more waterproofing materials. By the time they came back, the walls were dry and they were able to block the mold, and put the barrier paint up. The whole crawlspace project was done quickly and more importantly efficiently.

RTS representative ( Paul Ramsey) performed an examination of My Tri-level home. We were concerned particularly of two areas. The first was the wall and flooring area around a bay window enclosure located in the dining room. The bay window was an addition to the main house constructed by a prior owner. Paul Ramsey examined the area and determined no mold issue existed and made recommendations to eliminate mildew smell experienced during high humidity days. We were also concerned with the unfinished basement area and any potential problems we might have in making a playroom in the unfinished basement area. Paul Ramsey determined there were no existing moisture issues and recommended several types of products to use in the construction process to guard against potential future moisture issues. Paul Ramsey took time to answer our questions, prepared a comprehensive report at our home and told us to call him , if we had any further questions in our basement finishing project.

100% satisfied and I'd recommend these guys to anyone for removal of asbestos in a home. I had asbestos wrapped around pipes on an old boiler in the basement. I was getting rid of the radiators but needed the asbestos gone. They showed up right on time to do the estimate. I got quick and clear explanation about how they would safely do the job. Guess my job was small because I paid their minimum fee of $3000. I thought about doing this job myself, but then came to my senses. The whole job was done in one day. They had a large crew that showed up on time and promptly got to work. When they finished they had me come take a look and they explained how the air quality had been tested and measured safe from asbestos. If you have asbestos in your home, I can happily recommend this company to safely get rid of it for you.

Paul Ramsey was very knowledgeable and professional. Since he doesn't perform the remediation work I believe I got a better assessment of the problem and course of action for fixing it. The prior company I had in gave me an estimate of $3,500 to fix the problem as if it was a hazardous waste removal issue. Paul Ramsey said the mold was common leaf mold or allergens. His recommended action was to use an abrasive sanding sponge to remove the mold and repaint the surface with a special mold resistant semi-gloss paint. He thought it very unlikely that there was any mold condition behind the drywall. He also recommended replacing the ceiling fans in the areas to a higher exhaust rating. All Paul Ramsey's recommendations have been implemented at a far lower cost than the first company's estimate, and the results have proved fine.

Paul and Michelle Ramsey who run RTS are exactly the kind of people you want to deal with when it comes to something icky like a mold situation. While I had called other companies who gave free estimates and then pricey solutions, RTS did charge for the consultation, but it was the most thorough and detailed inspection of all and in the end, Paul Ramsey's opinion was that the mold was not severe and did not really need his services. He explained that it could be a DIY or get an inexpensive handyman to cut out some drywall. He even gave me tips on what to do as well as send me a link to an HVAC company for an unrelated Heat pump problem I was having. His wife Michelle, was crucial in building confidence in their company by her personable and sympathetic tone over the phone. I felt we were dealing with family. She went out of her way to explain the possible scenarios and none of them sounded scary and dark. As a matter of fact, Paul took the same approach and demystified the whole mold remediation process much to my relief. You just knew you could trust them and that all the other reviews singing their praises were spot on. I would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with a similar situation. They are simply the best in professionalism, a "no hype" straight up and caring service. What a relief and a pleasure to know that there are still people with integrity like Paul and Michelle! Kudos!

I was very pleased with the service provided and the knowledge and information that was given to me about mold. A complete analysis of my basement was done and the source of my mold was found. It was a simple fix and the owner told me how I could take care of it myself -- without spending a lot of money.

This provider was hands-down fantastic!!! Although RTS' inspection of our bathrooms led us to the conclusion that we needed to take a course of action which fell outside the scope of their services, we would ABSOLUTELY use them again if at all possible. The inspector was prompt, professional, and explained everything in detailed laymen's terms, answering any questions fully. The solution that the inspector proposed was cheaper, easier, and frankly cost him business because he could have easily lied in order to make money but he chose to be truthful and that is a true sign of integrity. I can't say enough about this amazing provider. USE THEM!

The experience was good. They were good and very thorough. They clearly explained everything and provided us with some good information and advice. The service person was very professional and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them. The price was fair; it was not outrageous.

Shortly after moving into a newly purchased (but by no means new) house in McLean, we discovered what we thought could be mold in some storage areas in and under the house. After research on Angies List and elsewhere, we selected three contractors,including RTS, to do inspections and provide recommendations for remediation. The gentleman from RTS who provided this service (the principal owner, I think, but I don't have his name at hand as I write this) was on time, did a thorough visual inspection of the suspect areas, and discussed his findings with us in a very professional, objective, and non-alarmist manner. We really appreciated both his obvious knowledge of the topic and his candor in discussing what he thought was needed as well as some more extensive options we could consider. We were very satisfied, as we felt RTS substantially increased our knowledge of the problem we had and, equally important, its relative seriousness (it wasn't terrible). We ultimately selected another contractor for remediation, but would certainly recommend RTS for inspection and consultation service for mold and other indoor air quality concerns.

punched hole in celiing and looked around using a scope. did not percieve any signs of mold, and left us feeling confident that we did not have a problem. Later, excavation confirmed that the provider was correct.

I explained the small amount of mold we had discovered and he said that it was very common in a basement. Suggested cleaning the mold off the baseboard and to prevent future growth of mold suggested a special paint I could use. He was very knowledgeable and professional.

RTS performed an indoor air quality inspection using the spore trap analysis. We were concerned that there may have been mold growing in our home but the analysis indicated a normal level of mold spores. Our air was considered "good" and was compared with an outdoor reading. RTS provided a written analysis and indicated no further action is recommended.

DO NOT remember all of the EXACT numbers you are asking for. this is a Angie List PROBLEM ? making it more complicated on doing this? maybe you should ADJUST your questionnaire if people do not want to put in cost or the exact day?. aint big deal but you will not allow me to summit it UNLES I write something in.

He was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. He did not try to pressure me into a remediation project at all. Instead, for $300, he wrote up his economical recommendations, which included detailed cleaning of all items and surfaces, replacing my humidifier, and keeping a fan running. He calmed my concerns of having to replace walls and carpet; he stated the mold was at a mild level. Mr. Ramsey also said to call with further questions. He's an honest, diligent problem-solver.
