M. R. Stone manufactured my counter tops incorrectly - they made errors on 3 of the 4 sections. The main section which includes an under mount granite Blanco sink was manufactured in 2 sections with the seam conspicuously located in the center of the sink cutout. By design, this main section had to be cemented together during installation - the factory had selected pieces that were different thicknesses and then compounded this error by incorrectly cutting the mating sections on an angle so that they did not match. The installer tried to force them to match but ended up with an ugly 1/16" wide seam and one side of the counter top raised in the air 3/16". None of the backsplashes were cut square so they don't sit flat against the wall. My $400 sink was installed incorrectly with drywall screws. This company does contract work for Home Depot and Lowes. My advice is do not allow this company to fabricate and install your counter tops. They will not stand behind their work; they will not admit any error; their response to me and my poor workmanship issues was that "it was the best that they could do" somehow making it "ok". Home Depot supported them in their shoddy work and refused to honor their written warranty. To execute the warranty your only alternative is small claims court. This is a daunting prospect and defeats most people. Planning to get new counter tops? Do the ground work - Go to a company that specializes; get references; look at any warranty language including any workmanship language and get a definition of "poor workmanship" and define who makes that determination.

From the selection process to the installation, this was a wonderful company to deal with. On the first visit to the show room several people talked us through the process and answered all of our questions without any sales pressure. Our assigned consultant was friendly, quick to return calls and very helpful. If she didn't know the answer, she would get it and call right back. The installers were very professional and friendly. They answered all my questions and gave me details about care and maintenance. They just returned to take care of a small chip and to seal it for us.

Spoke with a very helpful designer that was able to narrow down my interests and assisted in selecting a beautiful piece of granite for my kitchen counter-top. We actually went through the stone area and physically looked at what was available. I was able to buy an upgraded remnant at a Grade A price. An appointment was set up to measure my kitchen followed shortly thereafter by installation. The installation crew was neat and respectful, lying down plastic before bringing the granite into the house and cleaning up after themselves.
