Description of Work: It took them two house calls, but that was in my favor. I asked them to install front and back porch lights and a kitchen light. Brian was on time, polite and filled me in on what he was doing. After Brian installed said lights, I asked him to check the lights on the rear stairs as well as several outlets that had stopped working. He was diligent in trying to find the problem, and after a little time, said that it would be more cost effective if he came back another day with another electrician, as the problem was more complicated that I thought and involved more time that he could give me at the present. As promised, he came with a partner...they arrived at 8:00 a.m. ready to work. The only complaint I had is the company did not call me to schedule to second call. The two men got right to work...fixing the problems in a little under two hours. While working, they discovered a leak into the breaker box from the heavy rain. EEEK! After assessing the problem they sealed the opening, and the box is now dry and I could not be more pleased with their service.

 + 1 moreHe was fabulous! I got about four different estimates for this project. Some of the other companies said they would have to poke holes in the walls and I could not use the fixtures that I had previously purchased. However, GSW Electrical did not put holes in my walls and used all the fixtures I had purchased. They also came in less than half of another estimate I had received. He was excellent! He was always available and responsive. Everything looks great and is working well.
Description of Work: He installed a ceiling fan and wired a porch that we just built. He installed a new breaker box and new switches.

 + -1 moreI had previously used GSW Electric to install an attic fan and was quite pleased with their work. The outlet to my fridge stopped working and GSW came to figure out what the problem was. The electrician was thorough and he explained everything to me as he was working, letting me in on his thought process. Once the problem was identified, he quickly finished his work and made sure to clean up all debris and dust.
Description of Work: Troubleshooting to determine exact cause of loss of power. Replaced problematic outlet.

GSW arrived on time and completed the job within the time frame they had initially provided. They handled all communications and paperwork (permits, etc) with my electric company. They were well priced and did not try to sell me any additional services. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend GSW for any electrical needs. I have since called them again to come back out to my home to give an estimate for more work we need done.

 + -1 moreStarted with an onsight inspection and cost estimate from George in September 2012. I selected GSW over four estimates, George was the most responsive and reasonably priced. I signed a contract and gave George a deposit to start work. Then the job hit the skids! Due to no fault of George. It was necessary for George to coordinate disconnecting the power by Potomac Edison and a electrical permit was also necessary from Frederick County. George did keep me in the loop on the status of the shut off date from power company. Unfortunately, it took many months for George to get a firm date from power company. Once George received the shut off date he immediately notified me via email. Finally on 1/11/2013 the work was completed. George and crew did a fantastic job, had power back on in my home in less than 2 hours!! GREAT JOB, GREAT SERVICE!!!!

We worked with GSW consistently over several weeks to get to the bottom of the issue and find a solution. All problems have been resolved. George was patient, attentive and professional in his work, as were all of his employees. The acted professionally and courteously around us and with us.

 + -1 moreWe set a date and time for GSW to visit the site and develop a proposal. GSW arrived on time and had helpful suggestions on how the work should be done. GSW sent a proposal by e-mail within 2 days. GSW's price was slightly higher than a proposal from another electrical contractor. However, we selected GSW because we felt their approach to the project was more professional than the other bidder. We set a date and time for the work to be done. GSW arrived on time at the job site, was open to a minor change we made in the project, spotted and replaced a damaged circuit breaker (which was not part of the original project), and completed the work quickly and professionally. We tested the system after the work was completed and it operated correctly.
Description of Work: GSW supplied and installed a generator panel and connection port to allow multiple circuits in the house to be powered with a portable generator in the event of a utility power failure.

 + -1 moreMy bathroom light is working fine and the new switch stays on now, no more flickering or going off when you are in the bathroom. The charge of $130.00 seems alot to pay but the other company was going to charge me $150.00. The experience and knowledge of a master electrician saved me having to buy a light fixture, so I felt it was worth it.
Description of Work: They replaced a faulty switch in my bathroom. The electrician knew exactly what needed to be done. I called several companies to get an estimate and this company was the lowest in price. One of the other companies I called asked me to buy a new light fixture in case it needed to be replaced when they arrived. The light was flickering and sometimes it would go off with the switch still on. But, the GSW electrician was very knowledgable and knew it was just the switch that needed to be replaced. He was prompt and got the job done. The only recommendation I have it that he left the area where he worked a little dirty. I would recommend that he clean up after the job. I would use them again.
